Katie is Jessica Jones’ lesser known superhero sister! I came into her office after years of struggling with a debilitating GI issue. Katie took the time to understand my issues and all the things I’ve tried. Unlike the previous nutritionists I’ve worked with, she focused on evidence based approaches. Katie helped me put together a diet plan that balances managing my symptoms with my sanity around food. Other doctors and nutritionist were happy to suggest horrifically restrictive, utterly unsustainable diets that made my life unnecessarily difficult and provide very little relief. Combing her own experience with expertise in GI specific diets (low FODMAP, SCD, etc.) and supplements, we put together a plan that is not completely overwhelming and likely as helpful as it’s going to get. At this point in my illness, I really needed someone who could understand the challenges of my situation, including my obsession and fear around food. More than anything the time she spent with me in person and responding to my emails, after clearly doing research between appointments, made feel like she really understand where I was coming from.
