Obviously cancer treatment is overwhelming both physically and mentally, this was something I was very much looking forward to feeling like myself again and celebrating the progress I had made thru over a year of treatment. My experience with Madeline honestly took away from the entire process for me and I feel extremely letdown.I was given a quote which was quickly increased by $600 and I was told if I didnt complete the work within a certain time frame it would increase by another $1000. This time frame was difficult based on her leaving for Denver and me coming from Orange County to LA and my work schedule. I thanked her and told her I would figure something else out. She quickly agreed to the initial increased price.I traveled to LA for my appointment and she arrived 2 1/2 hours late. She didnt really seem to think there was an issue with this. She worked on my hair for a few hours and left to take her dogs out. She was gone for 1 1/2 hours! When I reached out to her to see where she was and that this was extremely unprofessional, she became defensive telling me I was being mean and upsetting her!I left LA at nearly 1am frustrated and exhausted with a drive back to Orange County still to go. I was there for 13 hours total! I wasnt really happy with the work, but respected the fact she had made some modifications in the installation because I couldnt have metal in my hair as I had an upcoming scan. I returned for maintenance 5 weeks later. Her salon is attached to her house and was dirty and unkempt. My hair was rinsed out in her kitchen sink which contained dirty dishes and clutter everywhere. The sink was filthy. I was there for 8 hours this time and she installed the extensions with beads. There were obvious gaps where there was no extension hair on the side and back of my head. This was recognized after she left for 45 minutes and came back reeking of pot. She recognized this gap problem and proceeded to place a cheap platinum colored extension in my hair which completely contrasted with my other golden blonde hair. After I arrived home I noticed bumps in my hair which have been horrible to deal with. I have now found out these bumps in my hair are because she sewed in extensions that are a tape in extension. The bump is the tape.After just a week or so after this appointment the gaps in my hair were becoming more apparent and there were multiple areas of black thread visible.As my frustration grew I consulted with two reputable hair stylists that specialize in hair extensions. They were both shocked at the terrible quality of the installation as well as the quality of the extension hair. Both said they have never seen hair extensions done so poorly and honestly couldnt even figure out what she had done. I offered no prompting on my experience, I was merely looking for an opinion. I was told the extensions were not even connected to my own hair, she used black thread and dark beads on my blonde hair, the sewing was extremely messy and lazy, and the gaps were just laziness where she did not place extensions as well as there just being random beads throughout my hair attached to nothing! I was told if I wanted to redo the extensions that the topper was fine but that the extension hair was terrible quality and would need to be replaced.I am beyond frustrated and upset with the entire process with Madeline, not to mention the money I have spent! I reached out to her to express my concerns, share the pictures and the only part of it she acknowledged was the quality of the stitching which she really didnt see as a big deal. She said as long as it stays in it really doesnt matter what it looks like. She did not address any of the other issues and became very defensive and again stated I was being mean. She told me she is self taught in regards to hair extensions and toppers. I can certainly see that to be the case.Please consider long and hard before going to her. I feel completely taken advantage of. Extensions are an investment and this is NOT where you want them done!

Madeline did my extensions, color and styling for my wedding. She tackled the huge task of turning my short brown bowl cut into long lavender unicorn hair and she did an amazing job. I love the way it blends. She was incredible on my wedding day too helping me get ready. She started her business from the ground up and is one of the hardest working ladies I know. Before I came here I absolutely hated my hair, I killed it with way too many damaging styles. I went to another place for a free consultation that told me they would not color my hair nor the hair extensions and that I would just have to pick a color and deal with it pretty much. Madeline changed the color of my hair, colored the extensions, and just made me feel at home when I was there. This was my first experience with extensions so I assumed a lot of things.. like, they couldnt possibly look completely blended and natural, and that they had to be thin and stringy at the ends to give me the length I wanted, etc...ALL WRONG.Not to mention, Madeline doesnt do color and really doesnt cut either. She does install well, but that is only a portion of good extensions!!! Dont settle for mediocre yall. Especially when spending the big $$.LAST THING: Madeline asked for my initial review WHILE she was installing my extensions!! I thought it weird at the time, but didnt know better until I talked with other stylists.. so take these 5 star reviews with a grain of salt. I was one of them, too.IN RESPONSE: Maybe you dont remember Madeline, but the only reason you gave me a free color is because you didnt have my extensions ready when I showed up for my install appointment. Also, if a blending haircut is not a critical part of an install then I guess Im just wrong. As for giving me a good deal, well.. I paid $50 less at a full service salon for literally twice as much hair. Yes, its top quality. And the haircut to blend it to match my hair was part of the service! Who knew.

In the past salons would always tell me the tape ins were the best on the market, well they severely damaged my natural hair the damage was so sever that my hair broke off and fell out. This visit is my second time having Madeline replace the best Russian hair extensions money can buy, the quality of using Russian extensions is that they are the softest, easiest to maintain which makes it a joy to have in my very thin hair. I’m not going to go into detail about my own personal horrible experience with madeline. all i’m going to say is that i encourage anyone reading these reviews to look at Madeline’s response to any “bad” review written here. Every time, she blames the client for any mistake they point out but then will throw in statements like “but i believe the client is always right”, even though her actions don’t match that belief. she takes no accountability for her many (often massive) mistakes and then goes as far as being outright rude to the client and tries to flip it on the client. Madeline says things like “i don’t think you remember”, or she goes as far as disclosing personal information about the client to attempt to justify her unprofessional behavior and blame the client instead. Madeline RUINED both my natural hair and my newly purchased extensions with a horrible coloring job and an even worse install, cost me thousands of dollars, countless hours of my time, and at no point took any accountability for her actions. But like i said, read her responses to any “bad” reviews and they speak for themselves. Finally, there’s absolutely no way she doesn’t pay for these five star reviews, she is extremely manipulative

I have been seeing Maddy for about 9 months. I went to her because of the trouble I was having with glue in extensions. After having them for a few months it became obvious how much damage they were causing. Many times a week one would come out and bring with it a good chunk of my own hair. It was scary. Like most people who have extensions my hair is thin and I needed more not less! I now have the sew in Russian wefts. I LOVE THEM. They look so much more natural and so much fuller. Well 4 years later... my hair still isnt growing back as quickly as I wanted it to. It was thin, limp, and my color was drab. For so many years. I searched for someone who cares about the integrity of your natural hair. I am 55 yeas old, my hair is thinning. And my hair cannot handle tape. The re-taping process is just too hard on my hair. Madeline did a set of wefts on me! They are similar to NBR (natural beaded rows). but higher quality. Madeline is amazing with hair extensions and color. She matched them perfectly to my natural color, even with the ombre coloring that I had. It looked so natural none of my friends believed they were hair extensions and not my real hair!Madeline is a beautiful and wonderful person, she always made me feel comfortable and answered any questions/concerns I had about the extensions. My main concern with getting extensions was damaging my real hair. Maddie has done an AMAZING job with my hair. I came in with extensions from another salon I was not happy with whatsoever. After a brief talk, she knew exactly what I wanted and I left with the most beautiful, natural, soft extensions held to my natural hair with micro-beads. Her salon is so darling and welcoming on 16th street in downtown Denver and she even has two adorable dogs to keep you company while she does your hair. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! The experience in Madeline’s salon was relaxing, comfortable, inviting! She’s an extremely sweet, caring, and compassionate person! She listened to everything I wanted and gave me exactly that and SO much more! I got extensions put in by Madeline and they are gorgeous! The color the length were exactly what I wanted and what’s more you can’t even tell they are extensions! I have had every type of hair extension from Great Lengths, to Hair Talk (Hot Heads), to Babe, to Vomor (Avedas brand of tapes). Ive run the gamut between bonds and tapes over the last 14 years. But, hands down, the weft extensions that Madeleine designs and uses is by far the best system yet. After a year and half break from extensions (and cutting my hair in a pixie), I wanted one last go at extensions. My hair is extremely fine and thin in some spots, but the wefts are secure, dont pull on my hair, and barely shed. The biggest difference I notice is the quality of the hair. In the past, I thought Great Lengths was the best, but the quality of the hair that Madeleine uses is absolutely amazing...and I would even say BETTER! Plus, the cost is way better than any other Ive had in the past! Madeleine listens to a clients needs and has every solution one could possibly want from issues with hair loss, growth, volume or length. I would highly recommend Madeline Hair Design if you are in the market for extensions.

I love the extensions I have and how Madeline blended them!! I also use her extension shampoo and love how it makes my hair feel! Before my hair was super oily and this shampoo helped with that. Madeline definitely knows what shes talking about and Im glad I went to her for my extensions!
