I’ve had such good nurses and doctors attend to me. From the emergency room to their birthing center. Honestly, I was very surprised how well I was taken care of during my birth and delivery . I was supposed to go in for normal delivery but after hours of pushing and pain, i requested c section and it was so close to midnight, all the staff was quick to respond and I was really well taken care of during and after the procedure. I’m Super content and happy with the whole staff. And super grateful for all the great advice and help from all the nurses who took care of me, my child, and my boyfriend during our stay.

My baby sister of 1 year has a fever, and we took her to this hospital and they only checked if she had covid, they didnt even give us MEDICINE to help fight it. If you guys read this then please dont go to this hospital, all the doctors and staff do is lie to you. Reading all these reviews tells a lot on how bad this place is.

I would give this place zero if I was able. I lost my mother while she was in the care of the ER/ICU staff. I wish I got names but I was so frustrated I cannot remember everyone I encountered. My mother ended up in the ER and transferred into the ICU for reasons I don’t want to get into. I don’t live close but luckily my mom’s first nurse in the ICU was a godsend and was able to answer all of my questions about my mother while I headed into town. Once change of shift happened that’s when it all went downhill. They had covid protocols which I can of course understand. Visiting hours were limited to one hour a day. I made sure I showed up early so I could get all the time I could. I ended up waiting half an hour for a nurse to let me in, after I already verified my identity and I lost a whole half an hour (which would be the last time I would ever see my mother.) I spoke with my mom’s doctor at the time and all she would tell me is that my mother was the sickest patient in the hospital. She wouldn’t tell me why or what happened. After I got zero explanation I was forced to leave. Later that night while I was at her house I got a call that she had passed, and the new nurse that was on her care told me I had to come in 30 mins if I wanted to say goodbye to her. I thought it was inconsiderate the way it was handled. Upon arriving at the hospital I was able to say goodbye to my mother for a whole 5 minutes before the same nurse came up to me and told me I needed to pick a mortuary within an hour because they can’t hold her body since they don’t have a morgue. He was so heartless and didn’t seem to care that I had lost my mother.Long story short, if you’re looking for compassionate nurses and doctors, please go somewhere else if you’re able. You’ll get a run around and the care will be subpar.

I like this hospital. I am surprised that Adventist health Delano doesnt follow their Covid-19 protocol. They placed a covid positive patient in the waiting room with other patients. When I tried to wait outside, the nurse told me I wasnt allowed to and sat my son in the wheelchair next to the covid patient. I waited and they never disenfected the seats the patent sat in either. The covid policy is on the front door to wait in car for treatment and they still placed her in the waiting room.No wonder the virus is spreading

They were nice to help me figure out the problem I was having my next issue was that there was an error on the hospitals part and now I’m being charged about $1300 something for when he was born even tho he had insurance. Now it’s in collections I never received a Bill to clarify. So much time has passed they can no longer get it fix there mistake so I’m stuck with the bill and affecting my credit. I guess that’s a new way to scam people form there money.

Both of my grandfathers from my mom and dads side passed away due to COVID-19 under Adventist Health Delanos watch. Both grandfathers were reported as getting better, then all of a sudden after a day or two, their organs shutdown—all the same story. This hospital needs to be re-evaluated from top to bottom and needs to be corrected before more people die from this horrible virus under their care. This hospital needs qualified professionals to be treating patients with this complex virus. I LOST 2 FAMILY MEMBERS THAT I CANNOT GET BACK. CORRECT THIS HOSPITAL OR CLOSE IT DOWN PERMANENTLY!!! =(

DO NOT RECOMMEND. HORRIBLE STAFF. My father was advised by his primary care physician to go to Adventist Health ER in Delano to have a thoracentesis done since his Chest X-Ray showed his lung was full of fluid and he had shortness of breath. Upon arriving there he was having Difficulty walking. When getting him worked up one of the “nurses” stated to me we don’t do that here he needs to see a pulmonologist. I could not believe he told me that. I then told him what do you mean he can barley walk. They did not take us serious until they saw his lab work and chest x ray. And thankfully he was transferred to another hospital. Horrible experience.

I went here to the ER right after I hurt my wrist in baseball practice, I got their at 5 o’clock. Then I sat in the waiting room for like an hour and got called, but all they did was ask me if my wrist hurt or not, and I was like duh what do you think as it was clearly crooked. Then they send me back to the waiting room and I wait another hour and then get taken to get an X-ray. When getting an X-ray this guy was telling me to place my hand flat but I could not out of the shear pain, but he decided to force my hand open, which hurt intensely. To top all of this off he never put a safety vest on me to keep me safe from the radiation. After the X-ray I was sent back to the waiting room and when I finally got called back there again they placed me in a room separated by curtains but the room had all sorts of ill people, and after all this is COVID Times. While I wait there for 20 minutes some nurse named Jeff Cho walks into my room and tells me that my wrist is in fact broken, then he leaves. After that another nurse comes in and she has this little hand brace, like a cheap little Walmart one and sh tries to shove my hand into it and any movement on my broken wrist is excruciating, then she decides to get me a bigger size brace but it was not fitting so she calls another nurse to help her and they are really reading the box on how to put it on, then they start trying it on, and then they decide to both try to force it on my wrist but they could not cause they did not know how to put it on. I end up grabbing the brace from them and putting it on my wrist and now I am just waiting to go home but they say stay so they can get my paperwork to leave, so I stay and 20 minutes pass. Then that Jeff Cho guy says he is going to be giving me a prescription of Motrin for the pain, and giving me a referral to an orthopedic specialists who can assess my broken wrist. So I say what about a cast and they say they can not give me a cast so I say whatever and head for the exit, but get this their was a cat in the waiting room and the nurses and staff let it go into where the patients were, they were petting it and laughing and I just got out of there. So I follow up on the referral the ER gave me the next day I wake up at five in the morning and travel to Kern Medical in Bakersfield and arrive at 6:00 as the nurses said I needed to be their early but guess what the place opens at 7:30 so I had to sit in the empty parking lot for an hour and a half to get in. Once I’m in they tell me that Jeff Cho never sent a referral so, the Ker Medical receptionist says to call the ER and get the doctor who saw me, their referral. So I call the ER and they say the doctor Felix is what I remember can not write the referral, so I ask about Jeff Cho and they say he is not there today, big surprise. So all in all I broke my wrist this Tuesday 3/23/2021 and have not been casted or seen by an orthopedic doctor as of 3/26/2021. It’s been four days where I’ve just been in pain at home, called the ER for a stronger drug but they won’t give me it, this place really stinks do not ever trust them everyone knows that already, never give Delano Regional now known as Delano Adventist a second chance, it is where fools work. P.S. Ima sue you guys.

The staff is ok and trained adequately. My son was born today and it is a beautiful day but the room was gross. A huge cockroach came out of the bathroom and up a chair, all over my wifes purse. I stomped it in the bathroom later. Then a cricket appeared inside the bathroom and chirped loudly all night. I was given a blanket and pillow, the blanket had some red, gooey stuff in a crease. Finally my son was born and we were moved into another room where the light fixture is full of dead crickets and the vent was full of dust. The entire time Im not allowed to leave the room or they wont let me back in. Ill take my chances with covid before I come back here again.

I should’ve gone to a different hospital. Within the 24 hours that I was there I saw my doctor a total of 2 1/2 minutes. I felt like I wasn’t being heard and if I was in pain and explain to them that I was in pain they would not offer any kind of pain medication. I had to insist for myself for the nurses to get me Tylenol, because they would never offer. They did bring me food when I told him that I was hungry. Oddly, the food was the best part of my stay at the Delano regional center. There is more that went wrong, but I would rather leave it unsaid. As you can see the reviews that have already been posted, there’s a reason for the one star if not perhaps a zero. If there ever is an emergency for myself or one of my family members, I will make sure to tell the ambulance to take me to either Memorial or one of the hospitals in Bakersfield. This place did admit me quickly but I can see that it was possibly because nobody wants to come here. Don’t be fooled by the upgrade they did outside, because the rooms and the beds and the equipment are still old and it has an old smell. They do keep it clean but there is a touch of tender loving care that is missing in this place.

If I could give this place a zero I would!Im sitting in the hall after being seen about 30 min ago and Im still waiting for my discharge papers while on my left side i am listening to the nurses talking about tequila at work and how the holidays are the best to get drunk at work! What in the hell?! They are so rude and unproductive, a waste of space for people that actually want to work.I work in the healthcare industry, this is unprofessional. They really need to look into there ER employees productivity.Never again.

My best friends mom passed away :/ . When i went to visit, I saw her struggling to breathe. My best friend told the nurses and they said her oxygen levels are normal.. No.. if oxygen levels are normal, she would NOT be breathing like THAT. My friend them that she was cold. “Get another blanket” one of the cna’s said.. As they were cleaning her up, they noticed she stopped breathing, thy kept trying to wake her up but no response. They called code blue and thank God they revived her, but they should’ve been more serious about it earlier. It was first of the 8 codes blues until her last breath 💔 At least the nurses and doctors did their best afterwards. These are lives and families being impacted. Please be more educated, skilled, and attentive to every detail like my friends mom obviously struggling to breath while on Benadryl so she was too asleep to say anything for herself.

I hope management reads this review and changes things here. The er attendants in the window were beyond rude, they would be loud and ignore you. They would ask you irrelevant questions such as, what do you want? Or what do you need with them? Id give them information such as the patient I was seeing who I was and how I was related and they still had no clue of what I had just said to them so then attitude was given. The nurse was kind but we only had one cna for the medical surgery wing (as do the other areas of the hospital) so if you need your assigned cna and shes on break guess what? You have to wait until shes off break to be seen or else the nurse will tell you to wait and ignore your light completely then retaliate on the cna for not doing her job. Makes sense? Didnt make sense to me either. The nurse on duty (wasnt my nurse just the general nurse) wasnt busy at the time but couldnt help me so I helped myself and changed all my linens myself. The linens are visible and easily accessible, idk if out of convenience or if they just want you to change things themselves. So the dr comes to check on you (if your admitted) once a day at a certain hour on the weekends and weekdays since they also are connected to the clinic and so if you missed him guess what? You are out of luck. The nurse will relay the message but you wont get to see him or talk to him again unless you code blue. They have a tiny room for two beds but only one person can stay with you at night in a small area of the room. Its limited on how many people can visit but if your neighbor is having an excessive amount of visitors its quite fine being that theyre near the door.
