I woke up with an injury on my ankle and couldn’t walk. I called and was guided through scheduling. I was advised I could walk in and would be seen as a patient right away. I came to their office the second they opened. I was the first patient, was processed in 5 minutes and performing tests within the first 15 minutes.I received excellent care, expert opinion and was treated promptly. I followed all of the directives provided and two days later am back on my feet. I am going to continue with physical therapy also available at this location as recommended.The whole team is amazing and I thank them for everything.

Dont let the look of the check in area and building fool you. The check in receptionist is very friendly and helpful. Once I was in a room, the girl who came in and did my intake information was very patient and friendly. She explained that I was going to need x-rays and that someone was going to come bring me over for that. She brought me a pair of disposable shorts to change in to since I had jeans on and the zipper is metal.Unfortunately as soon as she left, another lady opened the door and I told her I needed to change in to the shorts. She sighed and looked annoyed. She left and came back a minute later. I still wasnt done changing. Being that I have a back injury, moving at all is difficult. When she came back again I was ready to go with her.Unfortunately, to get to the xray area you need to walk through everyone who is doing physical therapy as well as another check in desk. Very embarrassing when a person can barely walk. The lady bringing me was far ahead of me and looked very annoyed each time she looked back. She did not have much patience at all.Once back in the room the PA came in. I cant say enough good things about him. He had a great bedside manner. Very informative, explained everything he saw on the x-ray as well as what the treatment plan is. He explained all of my options and asked me if I had any questions. He was very competent and pleasant to be around.The positive impact the PA, front desk and intake person made on me is why I will recommend this place to people.The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is because of the lady who had no patience as well as the poor layout of the buildings x-ray area.

The doctor was very pleasant & seemed pretty thorough and explained my situation. Did not rush appointment. Took X-rays. Suggested PT and then return… We’ll see after the four weeks. It was very easy to get an appointment- got one for two days after I called. X-ray technician was exceptionally pleasant.

Great office staff, and I like Dr. David Benatar. Overall a good experience.

Front desk staff was efficient but not very friendly as was the person who did my intake once in the exam room. X-Ray tech was not personable at all. I came in with knee pain and had to walk to the back of the building for the X-ray, which was fine but I was slow and the tech went ahead and didn’t wait for me. PA that saw me and went over my X-rays was knowledgeable and explained my condition treatment options, as well as follow-up. All in all I was seen and taken care of in less than an hour and was satisfied with the medical treatment. Oddly enough, there was no written discharge instructions given or emailed. I thought the care was adequate but a big part of customer service is to be friendly and to appear to care about the patient which I found lacking. Makes a huge difference towards patient satisfaction.

All the Doctors whom I have been a patient of were and are outstanding, knowledgeable and extremely compassionate! I recently underwent.very complex Cervical spinal surgery performed by Dr. Apazidis. Injury happened Mon late afternoon, ran right to the Urgent Care in Deer Park. Was helped right away. Registration process was quick and easy. X-ray tech was super nice and friendly. MA who took my history was compassionate and friendly. PA was very attentive and thorough in his examination, answered all my questions and concerns. Highly recommend.

Everyone there was very nice. Professional. They even listened to me when I was explaining my reasons for being there. Excellent.

PA Waxman was superb. It was a pleasant experience from the moment I got there. From the check in, to the evaluation to the X-ray technician. Perhaps the best overall experience at a drs office. 2 x-rays, evaluation, course of treatment in less than an hour. Highly recommend.

I had an appointment with Dr. David Benetar due to increasing pain in my left and right hips. He presented as very warm and friendly and was very thorough in his examination. He was methodical and took a number of measurements to determine the seriousness of my condition. Additionally he gave A detailed explanation of what was going on, bursitis as well as some mild arthritis. He made a number of suggestion that should leave some degree of the pain. Since this time I’m back to working out on my elliptical 3 times a week and range of motion has improved. The office is spacious & clean, never a wait. Clientele are friendly, courteous & informed. No surprises. Everything exactly as told. Used Dr. Rotolou for shoulder surgery and everything went excellent. Fully explains everything he saw, everything he did and how to get better. Pain Blockers still working. Going into my 3rd night post surgery. Followed his advice and still have no pain. He worked on my father 10+ years ago and now me. Both of us couldn’t be happier and more satisfied with how things turned out. It’s on me now to do my physical therapy. Simply follow doctors instructions to make record recovery time.

Dr. Trepeta is a rare find. He’s personable and takes the time to explain what happened, what needs to happen, and a realistic time-frame while being respectful of time. He is the reason I chose to return to Total Orthopedics and Sports when my son broke his hand again. All of the staff at Total Ortho at the Deer Park and Syosset locations are great!

Horrible receptionists. I called them to see if the Deer Park location had any wait for a walk in appointment and was told I could go in immediately with no wait. When I got there there was a notice on the door saying theyre closed on Tuesdays. I called back several times and no one answered. When I called back in the evening I spoke to an unbelievably miserable receptionist named Maggie. When I tried to explain to her I went to Deer Park she cut me off before I could finish my sentence and said theyre open till 6. So I told her they had a sign saying theyre closed on Tuesdays.. she replied so Massapequa is open till 8.. no apologies, no empathy. When I asked why I was given misinformation she said she didnt speak to me. Eventhough SHE WAS ALSO giving me the same misinformation. Very unprofessional and miserable person. People need to take pride in their work or find some other job.

Dr. Morrison was very nice, kind and extremely knowledgeable. She explained everything that was going on with my issues in both my hands (totally different then what I actually thought) I very glad I was able to see her and get the correct answers and look forward to seeing how things go with her in the future. She was excellent and so was the staff.

Dr Ruotolo and Maria Trotta are both excellent. They take very good care of you while in there care. I had both knees repaired and my my daughter also had surgery on her knee before going back to school. Dr Ruotolo had sure my daughter can contact him if there was a problem. Maria Trotta saw that I was in the exam room seeing Dr Ruotolo and made sure she stopped in to say hi and check up on me. Highly recommend Dr Ruotolo and Maria Trotta.

When Dr. Spain enters the exam room, he has a cheerful demeanor and gives his sincere and undivided attention. He knows my name, and is familiar with my history. He is knowledgeable in his field and gives a very comprehensive exam. Dr. Spain explains his plan of action in great detail which puts me at ease. He is always patient and answers any questions that I may have. This is a refreshing change from my experience with other doctors. Where upon entering the exam room, they are thumbing thru my chart just to see what my name is. That’s not very reassuring when you’re feeling ill.Our appointments run on time and true to schedule, this in turn also considers my time. This is a meat market disguised as a healthcare facility. I was advised there were no appointments for x-rays, and when my 96 yo father & I arrived...we were shuttled past people on exercise machines...temp was 80°+,& then informed of a 2hour wait. NOT GOOD. I then was able to obtain an appointment in Massapequa 10 days later. what is wrong here? EVERYTHING.

Dr. Owens is a great surgeon . I felt very comfortable in his care. He is honest and tells you what to expect. Has a kind and gentle approach. Answered all of my questions. Would highly recommend.

I have seen Dr. Spain for numerous tennis injuries including a broken wrist. I called the service on a Sunday and was patched directly through to Dr. Spain. Dr. Elizabeth Morrison, explain to me the course of action that she believed would yield the best results for me, and then listened to all of my concerns. That was very important to me. That she was willing to listen, and address my concerns. I absolutely love Total Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, they have great doctors that truly care care about your health and well being. But they also have a great staff working on your behalf to expedite your insurance, workers comp, prescriptions and medical test paperwork. All together the Doctors and the staff of Total Orthopedics and Sports Medicine are phenomenal! They made a very difficult time in my life, alot easier to bare.

I have been in the Massapequa location as well as Deer Park location they have all in all 6 locations I feel the service was good and the orthopedic surgeons and doctors are very well knowledgeable professional Orthopedics and I would highly recommend any joint surgery at there locations in Long Island and I believe one in the Bronx. I Thank You Total Orthopedics through my past and my future upcoming surgery on my left shoulder. I also had 2 Hip Surgeries.

Dr. Spain Orthopaedic Specialists is a Dr. Who explains whats going on with your body. He also listen to his patients and I recommend him as the BEST SPORTS ORTHOPAEDIC DR. ON DEER PARK AVENUE.

The staff was through and attentive. Prior to going to Total Orthopedics, I saw another doctor in Manhasset. The first doctor did not explain the nature of my condition and immediately recommended surgery. At Total Orthopedics, they listened and conducted their own tests, explaining everything along the way. Ms. Trotta was the consummate professional. And though the final decision was surgery, I understood and made my decision comfortably and informed!

The doctors at this practice a very good and caring. The only negative I see is the wait times to see the doctor are way too long because they overbook. There have been times where I sat in the office waiting to see the doctor for an hour and a half two hours.

Outstanding service , and it’s always nice to be able to speak with a Dr who explains everything in a way that an a adult (or child in my case) can understand. My daughter and I thank you

Don’t waste your time.. literally. They never know what’s going on & always waiting on them. Apt was at 12 and no where close to even seeing the doctor after since in the waiting room for over an hour. Had to end up rescheduling due to their lack of care. Will not be returning & will never recommend to anyone
