We are new to Decatur only been here with my family of 6(4 kids age 1 to 6) and I highly recommend it. There are different areas of the park offering different things. Next to the the play area is a splash pad to one side and through the other gates you can go walking, play with your pets, enjoy beautiful gardens, etc. Definitely our favorite new place

We used to take my younger brother years ago. It was a lovely park back then but WOW they have really upgraded it! Its beautiful, clean, and all around enjoyable for the whole family!

Small, cool and informative AL nature/wildlife/history placards. Kids castle type playground, small botanical garden, paved paths of several sorts.

Great party with a splash pad that is open Memorial Day through Labor Day. Passed surface on the playground is very kid friendly. The stainless steel slides get very HOT during the summer. The playground is supposed to be today free, but there was a couple smoking at it in our last visit.In addition to the playground and splash pad, there is a 1 mile walking trail, open fields, tennis courts, pavilions, and beautiful gardens. It is a wonderful place to have a picnic and spend a few hours with your family.

Clean park. Always people there but never crowded. Splash pad, playground, trail, garden.

They have done a great job making this a beautiful park. Something for everyone of all ages.

Great public park. Small but quality equipment. One corner of the splash pad doesnt work anymore but I kind like it, give the parents somewhere to sit without having to be in the benches. The water is abundant and goes high and goes off at different times and places. Its decently shaded in the morning and evenings. Plus the actual play park has nice shaded areas to play and to sit. Once youre done playing you can take a walk in the walking trail, roll down one of the nice hills, play tennis, basketball, have a picnic in the nice fields or take a stroll through the flowers in the Rose garden.

Always fun to walk this trail. If youre a pokemon go player, this is the park to come to because it has so many gyms/points, monsters to find along the way. This is a good place to get rare pokemon too during events. Also, the trails are lighted so if youre walking and it gets dark, you can still see and feel safe and its across from the high school.

Played here as a child and took my children and now I take my grandchildren to play here.

This is my peaceful place to walk and get fresh air.

Kids have a gr8 time in the water

I love this park. My family and I frequently visit here to play on the playground and participate in Pokémon go there are so many Pokémon gyms and stops we can spend hours playing. My son really likes the fenced in playground. I like it because he cannot just leave unnoticed. There is a beautiful sculpture garden and also a rose garden when in bloom makes for some of the best photos.

This was my first time at the park. I didnt get to look at everything, but the things I saw were very nice. My Girl and I walked a good bit of the footpath. Not lots to look at, but what I saw was well kept and pleasant. We did both use the public restrooms beside the tennis courts, and we both commented on how clean they were. The mens room could use some lime-away in the urinal because of the smell, but at least the general facility was clean.

There needs to be signs on the tennis court that it is for playing tennis only because some people think it’s okay to play soccer on the tennis court. There is also not enough lighting at night.

It is accessible for children and has a nature like walk around it. Beautiful sight!!It is great for kids for ages 1- 12.

Love how quiet and peaceful it is. It has a water park that is now open unless it rains or is chilly. They have a nice playground for the kids and added a little garden next to the playground. I love strolling with my baby around the park. The walk is lovely, just dont forget your water!!

It is walking distance from where I live.. My family go a lot to walk Bella, our dog, See the Rose Gardens and play in the Splash Pad when we have company or grandchildren over.. My first time was with Kolby in 2013, We were going to the Splash Pad but it was after Labor Day and so it was closed, we played on the Statues...And enjoyed the Botanical Gardens instead... See pic..ROSE GARDEN is beautiful all Spring, through Summer and into the Fall.. Needs more variety but nice selection..

Great place to take kids on a hot day to play in the splash pad. I came as a kid and still to this day love to come. The courts are decent for tennis and the playground has good equipment.

This is a great park and the childrens play area had a lot to interest the kids. It was so hard to get them to leave! The rings were a favorite for my 6 year old great niece and her 3 year old brother just loved running up and down the ramps. I noticed that children with mobility issues could enjoy this play area - very accessible. The splash pad did not have the water on when we visited in early May. I was excited to see that the lovely bronze animal sculptures were the work of Birmingham artist - Frank Fleming. There are many lovely sculptures and art throughout the park and gardens.

We always like going to Delano Park and usually have a good time. Today not so much. Grass wasnt mowed except in spots. Me and my wife was walking in a grassy area and l stepped into a hidden hole. Twisted and re-injured torn ligaments in my left knee. Hobbling to the car. Probably doctor and xrays. Hopefully no surgery. MOW THE GRASS!

Very nice park. We stopped and had a picnic lunch there. Beautiful flowers and nestled right in a residential area. Didnt give it a 5 because it would be nice to have more benches and maybe some tables for people to lunch.

Not much of a nature walk, but they have some really nice gardens and overall the park seems to be maintained fairly well.

A real hidden gem in Decatur. Peaceful tranquility place with wildlife and beautiful flowers.

Great place for families

My kids love this park. I enjoy walking the trail. I see lots of kids in the playground and splash pad when I go there. There are picnic tables and tennis courts and just an all around huge, fun park. There is a little something for everyone. Love it.

This park is lovely. You can reserve this area for a wedding but surprisingly its rather expensive. They due tend to put alot of the same plants throughout. I didnt care for that. I like variety. Its still a nice place to visit.

Ive lived in Decatur for most of my life. Delano Park is probably the nicest here. They have the Rose Garden, that is beautiful and is host to many weddings (my wife and I almost got married here) and other events, ball fields, tennis courts, walking trails, a kids playground that is very nice, with padded flooring and awnings for shade, and a splash pad. Wonderful place to take the kids, or your significant other for an afternoon walk.

An absolutely beautiful park nestled in a quiet neighborhood. Theres something for everyone, the rose garden maze is breathtaking. I highly recommend if youre looking for a great outdoor place to take photos. Theres a playground for children, along with a water fountain you can run through....or just play in like all the kids were doing today. Theres more to explore, and I will be returning soon.

I really enjoyed this park. I didn’t explore the entire park but we saw the walking trail, splash pad, and playground. My kids loved it. The ground is padded in the playground area. It had a lot of shade in the right spots. Plenty of seating for the parents. There is a gate around the playground and another one around the splash pad. We loved the animal sculptures. We will definitely be back.
