We recently moved a loved one into The Terrace at Priceville, AL and it was such a smooth experience. Shuntavia Harris was super helpful and attentive throughout the process, available on and off the clock to answer questions and assist. She and her team even made our virtual move in as seamless as possible, video conferencing with us on the porch from his room while positioning his furniture and wall hangings an inch to the left, an inch to the right (!). We have been very impressed with what we’ve learned about the facility and all they are doing to keep their residents safe and healthy during the pandemic (not a single case of COVID-19 in the Memory Care community!). Based on the care and attention we received during the admissions and move-in experience, we expect Poppy will be receiving the care and attention he certainly deserves as a new resident. It’s never easy to move a loved one from home to a long term care facility. My experience with this process at The Terrace at Priceville (AL) could not have been any better. Thanks to Shuntavia Harris and her team, my husband’s admission and subsequent move-in exceeded my expectations. Shuntavia helped us navigate the paperwork process and medical requirements, and she and her team so patiently served as my hands and feet while setting up my husband’s room. And when I say “patient,” with smiles on their faces, they hung and rehung wall decor to satisfy my picky eyes—taking direction by FaceTiming! My family highly recommends Shuntavia and The Terrace at Priceville to anyone in need of a high quality long term care facility with the most caring and attentive staff.

Having never been involved with moving a loved one into a long term care facility, pandemic or not, I was very impressed with how the staff at The Terrace at Priceville (AL) made the process easy as can be for my family. Shuntavia Harris and her team were on a video call with my mother for over 2 hours—making sure everything was placed “just right” in our Poppy’s room with the most positive attitudes. Their smiles made what might have been a really difficult day more bearable.

The entire staff at Morningside of Decatur is attentive to my mother-in-law as well as to our family. They communicate well with us and keep us informed. Even with the COVID restrictions they have risen to the challenge and continued to keep their residents safe and active. We highly recommend Morningside. The Stoner Family

After visiting all the assisted living facilities in Decatur and surrounding areas I came to Morningside last. The facility was neat clean and I was received with a smile from everyone I met. The dining area was spotless and well accessible to all the apartments. This just felt like somewhere I would not mind living at all but I chose it for my mom. Being a skeptical person I came to facility two times daily to check on her and the treatment she was receiving and found nothing but the best care I could imagine for her. She was not entirely happy at first but soon was taken into friendship with two ladies and now after only five days she is a happy resident at Morningside. Lori, the director, is always there for any questions and always has the answers. Ms. Dee is a joy to watch exercising with the group and singing along to some of my favorite Motown tunes. I can not find one negative thing to add to this review. A person cannot get lost roaming the halls because each loops takes the residence right back to where they started and always by the office and dining area. Lastly, the food is excellent and they are very flexible with the menu.It is a good place and one you can trust your loved one living.

Our Mother/Mother in law has done so well at Morningside. The staff is attentive and helpful. Covid 19 has presented many challenges but we are thankful that their diligence has kept the residents healthy.

Excellent Executive Director, helpful, sincere, respectful, listens, and appears to have a great staff. All were nice and helpful. Facility was clean, neat and organized. Residents seemed happy and everyone I talked with said the food was outstanding!

My in-laws had lived in Birmingham their whole lives, but due to declining health had to be moved closer to family. We visited all the assisted living facilities in Decatur, and determined that Morningside was, without a doubt the right choice for them. The entire staff, Sandy, Gloria, Dee, Sharon, Carolyn and all the nurses are compassionate and kind to the residents and truly love and care for them. My in-laws said it was the best move of their lives. Mom has passed away, but Pop still is a resident at Morningside and loves the activities, entertainment they provide and his meals. One of our favorite things is Family Night that we have where all of his family can come eat with him and be entertained in an atmosphere like a party...dining hall and tables decorated festively according to the theme of the night. It is a wonderful place for your loved ones...weve never had one complaint about their care or services for my in-laws. The staff is always available to talk with you, help with any concerns we might have about our resident, and everything there is done with sincere desires to make it the very best home for their residents where families can feel sure that they will have sweet dreams about their experiences there! We highly recommend Morningside to anyone looking for an assisted living facility for a family member. We sincerely appreciate each and every one of the staff there. They help us to have such peace of mind.

Morningside of Decatur has welcomed my Grandmother, Rose with open arms. It has been such a smooth transition and she is blossoming since shes moved to Morningside. It is so good to have her back home in Decatur. The staff gives her so much special attention and follows up with the family. I couldnt say enough good things about Morningside! Thank you!

The staff is great. The place would be SO much better if they would replace the carpet in the public areas. It is completely worn out and dirty.

Morningside of Decatur is a wonderful community! My mom has been a resident there for about 19 months and she loves it! There are daily activities that she wouldn’t miss for anything. She proudly says she’s staying at a really nice place. She then adds that the staff is nice, the residents are nice and the food is really good...she has a clean plate every time 😊.We visited several assisted living places and this was the one Mom preferred. It truly is a community that’s not too big and overwhelming, yet it offers everything one needs. I highly recommend Morningside of Decatur if searching for assisted living for yourself or a loved one.

My mother has been a resident at Morningside of Decatur for 5 months as of this posting. I carefully consider many things before choosing Morningside. The price was a factor and very important but the decision turning point was the staff and their experience. All other places the staff experience was 3 months and 10 months but Morningside was 6 years and 9 years and even longer which told me they were properly staffed and they cared about their residents. I could not be more pleased to this point and feel blessed that I chose this facility for my mother. Lori and her staff just keep on exceeding my expectations. Carolyn and her kitchen staff prepare super great meals. Thank you for such a wonderful facility.

Great staff that is very passionate about caring for their residents. Wonderful kitchen staff with fabulous tasting food. Carrot soufflé is my favorite.
