Dr Finch performed two Birmingham hip replacement procedures on me. Most efficient and effective thing Ive ever experienced. Minimal pain, home the same day of the procedure, scheduling was a breeze, it could not have gone any better. Month and a half later, I am better than ever, full mobility and zero pain or complications. Great, great Doctor!!!!

Dr. Finch took care of my mom for her right hip and total left knee surgery! He was very kind and gentle and had excellent bed side manner! We would highly recommend him if your loved one is in need of orthopedic surgery!

Dr Finch was amazing and took wonderful care of me for my total hip replacement. I had little to no pain and didnt need extensive physical therapy. I had a friend who had a hip replacement, by another doctor, the same time as me and they are still not doing well. I had the best experience. I highly recommend Dr Finch and I only send my friends and family to Dr Finch!

I highly recommend Dr Joseph Finch. His team is amazing making everything so easy. He did my total hip replacement through the Direct Anterior approach and it was amazing that I had absolutely no pain at all after the surgery. I couldnt be happier with my results. His bedside manner is calm and assuring. He explained everything and answered all my questions before and after surgery. There arent enough stars to rate my experience because Dr Finch deserves a 10 star review!

I posted about 3 years ago a one star review. I wanted to change my review because at the time I posted I was severely addicted to pain pills. Dr Finch stopped giving me pain pills 6 months after my surgery. I didnt need them for pain I was using them because I was addicted to them. He talked to me about it extensively but when youre addicted you dont listen so I thought I would show him and give a bad review. Dr Finch actually saved my life and I finally got off the pain pills and turned my life around! He had replaced both my knees and I had a great result expect for my addiction. He is a caring and compassionate doctor and I owe him a lot for helping me. I would highly recommend Dr Finch because he really does care about all his patients!

My left knee was so bad I could barely walk without a walker. I saw two other orthopedic surgeons and they said they couldnt do my knee replacement because my knee was so deformed. I finally saw Dr Finch and he was able to finally help me!! Thank. you Dr Finch!He made me feel very comfortable and told me that he could fix my knee when the other Drs couldnt. Im so thankful that my Dr finally sent me to Dr Finch. He fixes problems and does things that regular orthopedic surgeons wouldnt do.Now I dont have to use a walker and can walk without pain! My knee is straight again and I feel so much better.Thanks to Dr Finch I got my life back!

Dr Finch is a Great surgeon! He did my total knee replacement using the MAKO robot and I couldnt be happier. I have had friends that have had knee replacements and did do as well as I did. Most of them say that it doesnt feel like their knee but I can tell you that I feel like this is the best thing I have ever done for myself. I am back to all my activities and am looking forward to golf this spring. I have no pain and can do everything I used to do and more! I should have done this a long time ago and not suffered for years. Dont listen to people who write that they saw this DR one time or had a bad experience in the waiting room with too much perfume. That is nonsense! Dr Finch has special training in knee and hip replacement and it shows. I will be sending all my friends and family members to Dr Finch.

I dont have enough space here to say all the great things I can about Dr Finch and his team. Dr Finch was able to diagnose my hip problem when other Drs couldnt. Dr Finch ordered an MRI which showed more arthritis than the X-ray showed. Because of my age, 40, the other Drs didnt listen to me but Dr Finch did and figured out I had bone spurs and needed a total hip replacement to fix the problem. I had my hip replaced and now I am totally back to normal and can do everything without pain. In fact I had very little pain after the surgery. The hip arthritis was more painful. I highly recommend Dr Finch and his team. I wish I could give him 9 stars because he changed my life!

Excellent surgeon. I was initially surprised that he would even agree to operate on my knee as it was such a mess of broken bone and metal...several other Doctors would not.Surgery was done Monday. Took several hours, but I was allowed to leave the next day...already using a walker and being alright for first time in months. This is really a miracle. Cannot say enough good things about him. This has already changed my life.

My mother and I are totally pleased and grateful for Dr.Finchs great care. My mother came to Dr.Finch with chronic Left knee pain which caused her mobility to decrease greatly. Dr. Finch asssessed and diagnosed my mothers problem and diligently worked. Now I am happy to say that my mother is no longer in pain and her mobility has increased greatly. She is no longer dependant on a walker but is now ambulating with a cane that she seldom uses only when walking long distances. I am so happy with my results from my hip surgery in June! 10 weeks after Dr.Finch preformed my total left hip replacement, I was able to go Ziplining @ Snowsmake Golf and Ski and Ziplining in Harrison, Mi. Up north! Then, after 12 weeks after surgery , I was able to golf The Devils Knob Golf course in Harrison too. I Improved My score by 10 strokes! As well as being pain free, I also lost 10 pounds! Thanks to walking without pain. Thanks Dr.Finch! 2 of our friends are seeing him too because he is highly recommended for his skill in hip and knee replacements.😍😃👍😘

We agree with Stewarts review. This just shows you cant rely on people making google reviews. I was sick to my stomach when i seen he had a 2.3 rating. If it was possible id give him 20 out of 5!!! In 2010 I was in a car accident that prompted me to have my hip replaced 7 times by a different surgeon, which is why i searched out Dr. Finch! In all my previous surgeries first thing I noticed was how well and tight my incision looked after dr. Finchs surgery. The second thing is and it should be the first is when you look in his eyes you can see he cares about you and his work hes doing on you. Thats rare in this industry.. Now dont get me wrong here but its the patients responsibility to be smart and let things set and heal and work the heck outta PT is crucial sometimes. An amazing surgeon can only get ya back on the road of life but cant drive your car for ya. HE IS SUPERIOR IN EVERY WAY AND SO IS HIS STAFF!!! Thanks Dr. Finch youve kinda saved my life in a way :)

1st time I EVER called this Dr the phone rang rang and rang with no answer.My 2nd attempt and after numerous rings it picks up and all hear is laughter ..just as I was going to hang up...thinking I had a wrong number, a girl, all the while still laughing with obvious other staff members says Hello...very unprofessional for a Doctor whom I want to do major surgery on me.A very unprofesstional staff speaks louder than any positive Dr. reviews...ALSO...I Waited over 1 1/2 hours in a perfume filled waiting room for my appointment..I understand long waits are part of dealing with orthopedic doctors...but at least give a heads up that the Dr. is 2 hours behind on his appointments.Iam only guessing... but I assume most patients are either in pain or very sore and all they have are hard very uncomfortable chairs to sit and wait hours on...You cant expect me to sit for houuurs on hard uncomfortable seats....and why cant female patients STOP stinking up the waiting room with perfumes...its a Dr.s office not the darn club...clueless and rude !!!!I wish I had read the reviews prior to wasting a day in his office.

Hip surgery was fantastic, had me up and healed quick.

Im very up set with my experiences with the staff and doctor. I came to Dr. Finch with severe hip pain. He ordered an MRI for my hip as expected. On the day I was to review my MRI I showed up for my appointment. At that time I was told my appointment time changed to the following day. I was never notified of this. Having taken the time off of work already, I could not take the next day off. The office agreed to let me speak with one of his student doctors to review the results of my MRI. At this point I was told I have a minimal tear in the cartilage of my hip. Its not severe, basically to deal with it with the aid of steroid shots when its inflamed. Me having dealt with similar issues in my knees, I knew this wasnt accurate. This pain is something that is ruining the quality of my life; Im 37 and an active mother of two. I had to push for a referral to another doctor. Once I was able to meet for a second opinion, I was notified that I have displastic hips, no cartilage tear but rather worn out and in spots no cartilage at all - bone on bone rubbing. I need a total hip replacement. I was completely misdiagnosed by Dr. Finch. I feel as if the doctor would have taken more X-rays as my new doctor did (Dr. Zaltz - Hes fantastic!!) and had he listened to me at all about my pain levels, rather than looking at my age, this could have been avoided and I could be on my way to recovery by now. I will NEVER recommend this doctor to anyone. Stay. Far. Away from Dr. Finch. - Elizabeth Willingham.

Joseph Finch is the greatest orthopedic surgeon we have ever met. Other highly regarded surgeons at both U of M and DMC couldnt help my wife. After an knee replacement that got infected the DMC Dr had no answer and the U of M Dr insisted only an amputation would do. Dr Finch did 2 surgerys and saved my wifes leg. Its been 12 years with no compilations. He is our HERO!
