Great overall experience! Doctor was knowledgeable and answered any questions I had. Staff was a breath of fresh air, had an issue with transitions not transitioning when indoors. They took care of it without any issue. Highly recommend!

Rude customer service. Disrespectful & very rude doctor. Paid for anti scratch on my glasses, called made a appt to get fixed they didn’t schedule me until after my warranty expired. Go in they tell me my warranty expired a week ago… someone could have said that when I scheduled. now I have to pay out of pocket. What was the point of paying for it if it doesn’t work?!? No one told me that when you sold me the antiscratch. Money hungry!

I really like this place. The optometrist took the time to really explain things that opthomogists have never explained. The staff is very friendly. The office is clean and the selection of frames are really good. I highly recommend.

Definitely a lot better place than the one in Lincoln Park, given that the people here actually seem to care. I ended up getting a new prescription and about 300 bucks in glasses. It seems to have been worth it.

Originally, I was only going to leave a 1 star rating because the MANAGER Brenna was not helpful at all and made us feel like we were bothering her.My sisters glasses broke and we were trying to use the warranty, the manager told us the style glasses she had was discontinued so we had to pick a new pair out ( up to $85.95 ) which is fine. My sister tried on multiple pair of glasses and brought them to the manager at the desk just for her to keep telling us that none of the Frames worked with my sisters Prescription. Finally we asked the manager if she could just help us find a pair that would work and she said No, I wont know if they will work until I scan them she wouldnt tell us what we were looking for nothing.. about 20 pair of glasses later, I asked the manager if I could purchase a more expensive pair of glasses and I would just pay the difference. Again, The manager told me No.. 2 other workers ( Sheila and Erica ) were Awesome!!! They over heard everything and immediately came to try to help us find glasses. They even tried to ask the Manager about getting a more expensive pair and paying the difference sense none of the frames would work, again she said No! Spent an hour there and left with No Glasses and No help from the manager on what to do sense the frames up to 85.95 wouldnt work. A few hours later, We received a phone call telling us that we could get a more expensive pair and pay the difference.. We went back up there today and Sheila helped us again. She was absolutely wonderful, beyond helpful, and overall a pressure to be around. Within 10 minutes, we found a pair of glasses that worked for my sisters Lenses and we were out the door. THANK YOU SO MUCH SHEILA!! Shes the reason I am now giving a 5 Star review

Horrible service. Completely rude and snarky to us. We came to get new glasses and ended up staying an hour and a half waiting for our insurance to get confirmed only to it to never get confirmed and then having to pay full and get placed behind the several people who came in after we did. Horrible place. Will not be coming back again.

The price is right. The selections are very good. The optometrist is friendly and thorough. Most of the receptionists were great!!! One however, pressed for payment a little too much. We were fully aware that a final payment was required before we could leave with the glasses, her repetitive reminder was totally unnecessary.

They called me to tell me my eye glasses were ready. They give you the store hours when they call you to pick up your glasses. I show up a little after 2 pm. I went well out of my way to get there. They are closed for a hour for lunch. They don’t tell you that though. I showed up and they wouldn’t let me in. I and my family will be seeking another eye doctor. They need to warn people about this when calling them. I wasted a good portion of my afternoon on this bad business.

Good to know it was the manager that told me there were no appointments available when the online appointments were not filled. I was hung up on before I could ask when the next appointment would be available. Last time I went into this place the Doctor had me take my contacts out and left me in the waiting room with no vision. ( I have a very strong RX). I was shunned for wearing the last pair of contacts that I had left. I have never left the eye doctor without a trial pair of contacts. I was desperate and had to put my old contacts back in after he told me they had protein deposits on them.

The doctor was a little brash but nothing extraordinary hes very knowledgeable in his field. I was in and out in a reasonable amount of time received very cute glasses and contacts at very reasonable price. I did have them tightened once there and have a kit to do it myself because its just due to weight loss on my behalf. I have issues with my eyes so good eye care is important to me. I was pleased with the eye care I received and will be returning soon for another pair of glasses. Also during my last physical I was told after my eye exam in which I was asked to read extra lines that I have perfect vision ( with my glasses on, of course lol) but that means my exam was really thorough and accurate when I couldnt see something clearly I let him know and when I could I also let him know. I can really appreciate that because I have to have glasses or contacts on/in to drive so being able to see is of the utmost importance. I randomly selected this location but Im glad I did. I said it at my physical and Ill say it again now Well alright Americas Best lol

The customer service is very lacking and incompetence is unbelievable. I went to this location looking to purchase a spare set of glasses and was not even allowed to look at the eyeglasses that were on display inside of the store because I didn’t have an appointment and I didn’t have my eyeglass prescription physically on me, which I could have easily called and gotten from my optometrist. The reason given was “because of covid”.I never was offered an appointment or someone to contact my optometrist to get my eye prescription. They pretty much denied me service.The business practices at this establishment are in need of major adjustments. I will be taking my business back to optimeyes.

I couldnt get a pic of her face but im pretty sure she is suppose to be the manage, she lies about whether they have appointments available or not. DO NOT CALL FOR AN APPOINTMENT. Go online and schedule it yourself. I made an appointment online for my son. They had at least 10 open for that date. The date of my sons appointment i ended up being able to take him instead of my husband so I called to see if they still had any appointments available she told me no. I hung up and looked onlone and they still had 5 appointments open. Its just laziness, it even worse that she is suppose to be the manager. They try to upsell everything also. Ive been using the $20 contacts for 10 year now all of a sudden i need $35 a box contacts instead. I think not. . . .Im in the office now, just heard her tell someone that they were fully booked for today, I went online and they have 4 appointments available for 3 hours from now just a liar!!

Quite possibly the worst customer service experience of my life. I paid for an eye exam over a year ago, but due to Covid-19 I was unable to get a copy of my prescription prior to expiration. When I called in asking them to have a copy ready for me so I can use it to buy glasses online the manager was rude and loud. He refused to fax my script to my Dr. He was the short white male in glasses with the smug look on his face. I urge you all STAY AWAY from this nasty awful place!! This place does not know how to deal with customers.

If the reviews are the warning sign that says turn around!, which I missed, an employees tone is the ghost that says, leave! when you arrive. In this case before I even walked through the door...I made an appointment online. Later I recieved a call from a person telling me to be approx. 10-15 minutes early. Something about his tone made me want to cancel the appointment. It had a come if you want quality to it.So I cancelled and I went to another practice. The experience at this other office is hard to compare too. In fact the visit made my day.As far as this place (Americas Not so Best) goes I made the appointment without looking at any reviews. If it were not for the call I recieved I would have gone. Thank goodness I didnt. The reviews are astonishingly poor, outweigh the good, and based on his tone quite possibly accurate....Response to the owner: reviews are representative of your business and therefore an accurate measure of the quality one can expect when purchasing your services. A 2.1 rating is substantially low in comparison to your local competitors.Secondly the tone of the employee, I assure you, was unpleasant. This indicated to me that my time was not of value. At the very least your response should hold an apology.Youd benefit from addressing the bad reviews (which again your ratings show are substantial) with understanding and a willingness to correct whatever situation. Replying in such a matter may help you persuade new consumers to take the bad reviews with some salt...I am more than confident that I shouldnt be sorry that I based my choice to not go to your business on the reasons above, your response proves I shouldnt be, and that I truly didnt miss out on a great experience. They confused my daughters prescription with someone elses causing a long delay in getting it sorted out. We will never come back. If it werent for the fact that my daughter has already picked out the frames she wants, we would have taken her prescription to another place to have the glasses made. Hopefully the prescription is correct.

The doctor is great and is always friendly. I initially bought the club membership and was satisfied with the price. However, I didnt want to renew it any more. I needed a quick eye exam to order my contacts online so I called them to schedule an appointment. I asked the lady that was assisting me if my membership was still valid and she said I was all set. When I walked in before the exam, I asked the lady at the front counter if my membership was good and she said the doctor will be right with you. At this point I am under the impression that my membership is still valid. Once the eye exam was done, they tell me that my membership is expired and I need to renew it for $99 or pay $75. Sure, they provide a great value but my biggest pet peeve is with not being transparent with customers. Tell me before hand that my membership is expired. I would have probably renewed it if they were upfront about it. After this experience, they have definitely lost me as a customer.

The doctor was rude and I think it was because he was offended that I’ve never had an eye exam. I ended up with 2 different pairs of glasses so I’m switching glasses all day long. I asked why I can’t just have one pair? He said because I don’t need to wear glasses all day. My readers are so strong it makes me sick to my stomach and my eyes are blood shot.what I do at work I need the glasses on. I’m constantly taking them off and on. It’s not convenient at all.

This will be the only place Ill go for glasses from now on. Everyone I came into contact with was absolutely lovely. They were sweet, genuine and extremely helpful. I felt like they truly enjoy their work and care about the customers. Not to mention they werent pushy at all and very understanding of what I could afford and what I needed. The doctor was amazing. So cool, made me feel really comfortable. He even gave me a card to take home to my mother who suffers from eye issues from having MS. Should be picking up my new frames this week!

I WISH I could give 0 stars. That’s how terrible this place is. Truly the rudest, most miserable people working here. Never experienced such horrible customer service in my life! Never again will I ever come to this place again. All these reviews are very true and accurate! As soon as I walked into the door the receptionist was so rude and unwelcoming. * Update* As of today 11l23, I have used my entire 6 month supply of contacts. They were bought in October. No one has contacted me like the reply below would suggest. They just dont care. I threw away$100.I would give a zero star if I could. Dont buy their cheap contacts. I bought a 6 month supply in October. I have 3 left. I had 2 rip while wearing. I called to see if there is some sort of warranty, of course there isnt. They have my money already. I wasted $100 for contacts that rip in your eye. DONT BUY CONTACTS FROM HERE! Just got this one out, its ripped.

We have been coming here for about 3 years. This last time I came with my daughter I was 10 minutes late due to an accident that slowed traffic. The lady was so rude to me and said I should have been here earlier. She said they give a 10 minute grace time but unfortunately you are 11 minutes late and the doctor was not able to see me now due to lunch. The smile she gave me after was the icing on the cake. Time to find somewhere else.

Doctors were great but some of the staff seem miserable and towards the end of the day seem like they are in a rush and one of the girls was super sweet but sounds like a machine just repeating the same thing trying to sell you extra with the exam. They gave my husband a trial pair of contacts he put on in the store but did not give him nothing to put them in like the starter box. When I asked the lady if they had one she got attitude but I stood quiet. Very clean and pretty quick though. I thought maybe some staff was having a bad day but I went there a couple times that week and they seemed miserable.

Terrible customer service. Single mother of 3 arrived 20 minutes after my hour long scheduled appointment was to start. I wasnt able to be seen and told to reschedule because of traffic on the way there. I even called make sure I could be seen if I was 15 minutes late. Turned out to be 20 and they rejected me at the door SMH. Glad I didnt spend my hard earned money here.

They got one start because you cant leave less!! I felt rushed when I picked out my glasses. Finally got glasses 1 pair was adjusted so badly they fall off my face. Went back to get re adjusted. She told me would crack my frames. Just horrible experience. Not to mention they have a small selection. Dont waste your money.

If I could give a negative -100 I would. I was hung up on not once, not twice , but three times today by the office staff on the phone today. All I tried to do was get contacts for my upcoming wedding. I came in and had an eye exam in May of this year. I had a contact exam as well as an eye glass exam. I started with a starter pair of contacts which I was supposed to wear for a week and return for a recheck in order to purchase contacts. I also purchased a pair of glasses out of pocket without using my insurance. I decided to return when my glasses came back and get my eyes examined, but the doctor either wasn’t in when I came or had too many appointments, to get my glasses. In the meantime, I started wearing my glasses. Because I used my FSA card to purchase my glasses without insurance, I was told by the office staff that it was okay to wait until my FSA started again before I came in to finalize my payment for contacts which wasn’t until July. I was never told that if I waited more than 60 days I would need a complete new eye exam. I called back to see if I could still place an order and was rudely told that I needed to get a brand new eye exam, although I had already paid for it, in order to purchase contacts. When I tried to find out my options and explains my situation , I was rudely told “ma’am I can’t let you purchase your contacts without a prescription, I could lose my job and I’m not losing my job for you” From that it went down hill. I got hung up on 3 times following that statement. I tried explaining my situation and they didn’t care. I didn’t even have an attitude the entire time. I tried even asking for my medical records and got told that they would rather me take my business elsewhere. So I did. I wasn’t trying to cheat the system, I was trying to figure out how it works and instead of being compassionate they clearly felt like I was wasting their time, which is another thing they told me.

I was also looking to return back to Americas Best. After my first experience, where did lied about the real price of $400, my glasses were WRONG, and plus I bought contacts; which were incorrect and the wrong type once I received them. Horrible service, horrible attitudes, horrible management staff! Everyone is uncaring at this location. They only want your money! They do not care what happens to your eyecare. They only SEE GREEN! I WOULD like a member of the management team to contact me, however, that probably wont happen. If it would, please reply to this and I will leave my email or you may leave yours. Went for contacts and explained I had just gotten out of hospital and some of the drugs I was on. He said not to get contacts and that eye glasses would be better. During exam I told him it was still blurry and he said the steroids would do that. I felt uncomfortable but decided to trust him and wait until the glasses came in. Glasses came in and I couldn’t see right they were too blurry. Text Steve tried to get me to take them home and if still not satisfied to come back for another exam. At this point I was done and told him I wasn’t taking them and to refund my money I would go back to SVS. So I decided to investigate and he should have not done the exam until the steroids and other drugs were out of my system. The steroids mess up the exam. I called and complained and they said sorry you are stuck paying the $50 for the exam. He also tried to tell me I have glaucoma and cataracts. I have neither. They were also wrong on my prescription. I see fine with my new glasses.

I made my appointment at 4 and didnt get seen until 4:45-5 o clock but it was on a friday and I do understand that its a high volume day so I had no issue with waiting. The doctor is so sweet and pleasant and he makes me feel like my eyes are his first and only priority. My eye exam went quick and I was relieved to order my glasses and get going.He had no issues answering any of my off the wall questions and I appreciated that. The associates that helped me pick out my glasses and crunched the numbers were so quirky and bubbly it was really fun and interesting conversing with them. I would recommend this Americas Best to anyone looking for cheap yet quality glasses.

My mother and grandmother came in for an appointment, they came in only 10 minutes late due to traffic, and they were denied service at that moment. Nobody else was in queue because there was nobody in the office. The lady at the front desk gave a rude smile to my mother and then they had to come back later that night, and waited an hour and a half. A couple days after, I came in to fix my glasses, which I had warranty on. The lady at the front desk told me that they were limited edition and that I would have to either pick a different frame from the other section or pay a difference. She also told me there were no more nose pads available, and when my mother prompted to speak she cut her off. During this she was rolling her eyes at other customers that were present in the facility. As she was assisting another customer, I proceeded to ask another lady for help, and she gladly told me that there were nose pads in the inventory. The front desk lady neglected to even check if there were any in stock. Furthermore, as my mom asked to see the receipt of our last transaction she looked at her as if she was dumb or less of a person because my mother has broken English at times. This was disrespectful and her attitude did not comply with client respect. I was not planning on writing a review, I called the corporate managers, and even several customer service places. None of them have emailed me back or reached out to me. I have been a customer at this place for several years, and this is the first time that two incidents happened and were not addressed, properly.

I want to give this place ZERO stars. If you decide to go ahead and see for yourself, pay very close to what you are being charged in detail. I have never felt as uncomfortable in a place in my life, as I did there. They have no sense of customer appreciation. They have no care for the value of a long term customer. If they can make money off of you in one day, thats all that matters. They speak to you as if they are your only option and as if your value is less than theirs. They lack communication skills, experience with customer care, and respect for the customer. I have never seen the manager smile. He speaks to you as if you are beneath him. You can tell he just wants you out the door. I was extremely upset with my experience and would not advise anyone to even give them a try.

Ive always had a great experience until this year... they do not follow up with customers.. I purchased my contacts over 7 days ago and before I purchased I asked will they be back in time for my vacation if not I will just go elsewhere the manager assured me that I would have them in time no worries.. so I leave for my vacation in 2 days and guess what? Still waiting on my contacts.. Every day they tell me they are gonna email someone and get back with me the next day and Im the one that has to call.. this is the third day in a row they have not contacted me.. so now Im on pins and needles waiting.. so now if they arent here by Monday they are gonna give me a trial pair for my 2 week vacation.. 1 pair really smh and its still no guarantee they will have contacts close to my prescription..at this point i just want my money back! 😡😡😡

Had appt for 10:45. Left at 11:15. Just ordering contacts. Computers there run slower than a turtle. Staff just sits looking at a screen that does nothing. Dr there is very rude. He doesnt care what u want he gives u what he wants. People sitting around for hours. What a horrible place. Never again. Got my script and ordered from another business that better equipped. Not to mention I work 60 hrs wk. Got up early for appt that I didnt get.

When I walked in all the woman who worked there acted as though I was walking in on their personal time and disrupting their girl chat. The doctor was very short with me and barely listened to me trying to explain why I needed glasses after he had asked. I will say the assistant was very nice but the other woman were rude. My glasses only took a week to come in, which is the only plus I can offer. Again when I went back to pick up my glasses, it was a very unfriendly environment. The girl asked for my name and said nothing else. She handed me one pair,I tried them on.handed me the other pair and said all set, have a good day and walked away. Didnt ask if they fit right, or our anything.Finally I went home after and after a more careful examination, neither pair is what I picked out. They gave me two parts of random frames that remotely resemble what I had picked. Im livid!

If I could give 0 I would I took my 6 year old son who has learning problems also a conduct disorder with me to make a appointment for him he was very excited for the fact he has went a whole month with no glasses. Went to the appointment showed up early like they said too. Then waited more then 30 mintuts . My soon started taking the eye exam and I explained to them he dont know his letters very well. After that they told me he couldnt be seen we needed to leave. After they let him pick out his glasses and everything.. so he was upset leaving walking him out. By far, the worst experience I have ever had at any business, let alone healthcare related! I made an appt on 9/12/9 for Thursday, the 19th at 5:40pm. As soon as I got off the phone, I got a text notification giving me the appt details and asking to confirm the appt, which I did right away. In the span of the week, I received FOUR text messages confirming my appt date and time, one being the day of the appt. A couple hours after the correct txt on the day of, I received another txt msg with the wrong date and time which I simply thought was by mistake. I left work early to make it to the appt, walked in right on time, had to wait for the two girls at the front desk to stop talking before I was even acknowledged. When I gave them my name and appt time, one of them reluctantly (after all, I had interrrupted their baby daddy conversation) looked on the computer and proceeded to tell me that my appt was the following day. I quickly took out my phone and showed her the FOUR txt msgs I had telling me that I should have been there at that date and time. She kept telling me that I must have cancelled somehow as she just couldn’t understand what had happened. I assured her many times between her trying to cut me off that I had not, in fact, rescheduled my own appt that I SHOWED UP TO! She kept interrupting me and raising her voice at me as if I did smth wrong. She then went to get the office manager (from outside, we saw him smoking on the way in) and he was no different. He kept saying that he didn’t understand how this had happened and I kept insisting that since this was their error, clearly, they had to fit me in. He then continued on to tell me that they were already overbooked and the doctor was behind and they would not be seeing me! I left work early, had to bring my 3yr old with me and I essentially did all that for nothing! When I left and told them that they lost a regular customer for life, he SMIRKED at me and shrugged his shoulders. Not only will I NEVER come there again, or at any other location anymore, but I will tell anyone I know of this experience. My whole family wears glasses, so if losing one customer is not a big deal to you, I will personally make sure that it is plenty more. I really should have read the reviews of this location first.. but I was desperate and needed the glasses ASAP. I wish I could give this place no stars. I am not surprised at all it only has two overall. I went in to renew my contact and glasses prescription since I missed my follow up appointment for the last prescription renewal appointment I went for. Dr. Amster is the one I unfortunately dealt with. He immediately started grilling me why I had missed my last follow up appointment. I explained I was in my last semester of school and completely forgot and knew that I would need a whole new renewal appointment and had no problem doing so. He continued to demand more answers as to why I would miss the appointment? Apparently my answer wasnt good enough. As I read through the reviews, its clear I am not the only one he has done this to. I was honestly shocked by his behavior at first and the way he spoke to me considering I am the patient and giving you my money. I did not ask for a discount for having to make the prescription renewal appointment all over again, I didnt even complain about having to do it. I happily handed over my money. After I put in my trial contacts and went back into the room for him to make sure they fit well, he must of decided he wasnt done being extremely unprofessional. He told me that he could tell I did not listen to directions and that I was wasting his time since I am going to do whatever I want anyways. At that point, I had to laugh. Dr. Amster thinks he is my father! And if you miss an appointment that MUST mean you do not take you eye health seriously! I told him our appointment was now done, and that he needs to give me my prescription that I had already paid for once again with no complaints. This guy clearly needs some guidance, first of all...your patients do not owe you an explanation as to why they miss or reschedule an appointment (youre not my father buddy). Second of all, that was the first time you met me, to tell a patient they do not take their health seriously...no words. He is a poor excuse for an ophthalmologist. I will never return to Americas Best and I will be sure to tell others to avoid this location as well.

First, Id like to express my disappointment in the fact that I wont be able to go back here. I love Dr.Amster. The staff working out front, well, thats a whole different story. I had my eye exam in late December and came back on 1-03-19 to pick out some glasses. A girl named Breanna helped me and she was very pleasant and made things very easy. They said my glasses would be ready within 2 weeks. I returned on 1-09-19 when the glasses were ready. Upon first inspection I noticed the plastic temple tip was loose on one side. This was not acceptable as this would lead to poorly fitting glasses down the road. The girl helping me, Krystle, was rude. She insisted loose tips were normal. Next, a male employee also insisted loose tips were normal. Mind you, my last 4 pairs, all bought at Americas Best, DONT have loose temple tips. I asked if they could heat the tip in an attempt to get them to tightened. Krystle tried, but ended up crimping the plastic. Unfortunately, this just deformed the tip. She said they could send them back to be fixed or replaced. She also said this would take up to 14 days. After 20 days I returned to the store to see if they were ready. The first girl to help me couldnt figure out where they were. A second, Krystle again, went into the back and retrieved them. Not only were they not repaired or replaced...they were the same glasses, untouched. They never sent them out. They attempted yet again to pass off these broken frames to me. Disgusting treatment. my order # 259706. The names I stated above were the ones listed on my receipts.

The worst ever. They treat people with no respect. And they charge you 45$ for eye exam if you are not satisfied with the service. I do not recommend them for any body. I told the store manager that there is no poster in the whole store stating that I have to bay 45$ for the eye exam if I am not pleased with the service. Even though I call the 800 number for customer services from inside the store but they were very negative.

Ive been going to Americas Best for a decade with no problems from any other locations, but after moving this last year, I went to this location as it is now the closest Americas Best to my house.Like others reviewing this establishment, I received extremely unprofessional rude treatment from the eye doctor. He was both pedantic, and patronizing. Dont go here unless you want the doctor to immediately be aggressively condescending and rude.Although I have glasses, I came in to get contacts, which I only wear to protect my glasses when Im doing field work. My primary reason for going to Americas Best is the convenience of being able to pick up contacts in store the day of, because often times I get called to travel long distances to do field work with little to no notice.When the doctor asked me about what brand of contacts I prefer, I explained my situation, and said that I prefer Air Optix, which I know they can order, however, I often get the Americas Best in-house equivalent. He immediately corrected me, telling me that Americas Best doesnt manufacture contacts (which I was well aware of), and then proceeded to tell me, If you prefer the other brand, then maybe you should be responsible and not wait til the last minute. He then accused me of wearing my contacts for too long, because the last time that I filled my prescription was a year prior. At this point I had to reiterate that I only wear them when Im doing field work, not all the time, and that I often dont know if Im going to have field work until a couple days before, which is why I was getting the brand that they keep in stock.After this, he asked if I sleep in my contacts. I dont lie to physicians, and replied that I do indeed sleep in my contacts. Air Optix Night and Day contacts, are advertised as a lens that you can sleep in for up to 30 days, however, all optometrists Ive worked with discourage this. So unsurprisingly, he immediately began telling me how terrible it is, and that if I want to go blind it isnt his problem. And then, similar to another review on here, he told me It doesnt matter what I tell you. Youre just going to do what you want anyway.He then proceeded to give me my eye exam, but after it was done, he started filling out paper work, and never removed the apparatus from my face. I waited over a minute with him not talking at all, while not being able to move my head. After such a long pause with nothing being said, I figured he must have forgotten to take the lens apparatus away from my face. I gently pushed it away from my face, and he continued to write for another minute or so. When he turned around he looked at me aghast. He then reprimanded me, stating very loudly that its people like me that break his things at work, and that I had forced his equipment out of the way, potentially damaging it.I could list a number of other things that he said to me that were condescending and rude, but this review has already become painfully long.The doctor at this location clearly only looks at patients as a means of exercising authority. I will never be back to this location.

Went for contacts and glasses... paid for eye club and ordered and paid my glasses and contacts. I got my glasses but never got my contacts... called them and they said they were in went to pick them up no contacts... will order them this went on for two months rude office staff asked for my money back and my prescription and the office staff would not give me one!!!! Don’t go here maybe they will close or get new staff....

Doctors and staff are all excellent. My issue is with the Eyeglass lense quality. Same price and same lense upgrades as my previous pair from SVS, yet these new glasses have gotten multiple tiny scratches within days, also there seems to be some reflective glare occurring. Scratches didnt come from any non normal abuse. I have the anti glare and anti scratch coatings, or I at least paid for them..

They are a rip off. DON’T GO. I signed up for their 3 year membership—pointless. They will withhold your prescription information or give you incorrect/incomplete prescriptions. I moved hours away and I’m stuck without glasses because mine are broken and I was going to order some online until I could get back there but they intentionally left out information. Now I have to go to a new eye doctor so I’ll be sure not to return there . You can get frames much cheaper than their fake deals. Run! Go somewhere else.

I went here for my eye exam without insurance, I came in around 3:30 with no appointment and was seen at 4:20, not bad at all. The exam and eye doctor were very sweet and nice. They have a nice selection of frames which I loved. With 2 frames (DKNY & Rayband) and my lenses and exam, it was $400 total which is not bad at all. I would recommend calling for an appointment first if you dont want to wait. Good place I would say :)

Me and my wife have been going here for years despite always feeling uncomfortable about how they pressure you and to buying contacts and glasses from them and if you even hint at going somewhere else they hold your prescription hostage and wont give it to you despite the fact that you paid for it. Despite their forceful business tactics and pressure sales we stayed with them until today since they were extremely rude to my wife and lied about Services they offer. I was told that the reason I should be buying contacts from them and nowhere else is that I can exchange them if my prescription ever changes for new ones or if they ever expire regardless of when I bought them as long as they were not opened. today they told my wife no she cant exchange them. They stopped me for years from purchasing contacts from places because they wouldnt release my prescription and they insisted their exchange policy was better than any place. now when I need to exchange my contacts they claim that was never their policy. I will be switching locations and if the new location does the same things I will be switching eyeglass providers. These reviews speak volume and Truth people need to stop coming to this location until it shuts down!!!

This is the worst experience i had in my life. Do not go to this place!! I literally drove 30 mintutes for an appt at 6:00pm just for them to tell they couldnt give me an exam. Because i had one at another location. Then the receptionist Dawn tells me she tried to call me earlier today and my mailbox was full. Just a bull face lie mailbox not full and guess what no call in my call log. I will never do business here again!

I will never ever go to this store again! The girl who approached me was curt and dismissive!! I showed her my glasses to be repaired [ that I paid over $300.00 for 2pr.] when she found out I didnt have insurance on them , she told me there was nothing she could do!! So I guess once u pay & walk out the door, thats it!!! I didnt expect to get it done for FREE!! But she dismissed like I was not there!! I was shocked by her NASTY ATTITUDE!! I was planning to get new glasses there in November & when I told her I guess I wouldnt be coming there, she said ok in her dismissive attitude & walked away!

When I picked up my glasses 1 pair was from the display case and said display on the lens and they put a prescription lens in the other eye. 2 nd pair prescription was wrong, after a week and a half I get them back 2 days later the lens fell out took it back they fixed it got home lens fell out again. Do not go there they can get it right and now I have to go back again wasting time and fuel

I waited a day after my appointment before I typed up this review... because you shouldnt do or say anything in haste. However, I still feel the same way today... so here it goes. david amster is the worse eye doctor around. he is mean, rude and treats his patients horribly. I hate going there because I know he will be there. he really needs to retire. Im surprised they let him stay on as a staff member. Ive had many of my friends say the same about him. My husband asked me why I even go there. I told him because its just down the road... my husband said so find another place just down the road... you should not have to pay part of his salary for him to be miserable towards you. Writing this review Ive had to bite my tongue several times over to keep from cussing this man out on the way he makes people feel in his presence (which shows a lot of restraint on my part)!

I had a terrible experience with this locations main doctor, Dr. Amster. He was extremely confrontational with me as to why I was coming back two months later to have a re examination. I explained that I was having difficulty seeing street signs and that I was squinting my eyes with these new contacts, which is why I had switched back to my glasses. He repeatedly told me that we were moving backwards (whatever that meant), and asked why I hadnt rescheduled immediately after I noticed this problem. I explained that I was busy with work, at which point he said to me, were open seven days a week, do you work seven days a week? I was pretty thrown back by this. I then told him that the incorrect lenss were ordered for my left eye anyways, so it was a good thing I scheduled this appointment! He acted indifferent to this and continued to scold me for coming in two months after I had already purchased my lenses. I calmly told him that we shouldnt focus on this two month delay, in didnt matter one bit and that our concern should be getting me a pair of contacts that were the correct prescription. He then got up and left the room very irritated.Management was extremely nice and apologetic, and I will be seeing another Dr at that office who comes in on Sundays. Im hoping for much better treatment.9/2/12Just got my new prescription from a doctor who only works Sundays when hes not at his own practice. He got the prescription correct the first visit and my vision is much improved. He was also very professional. No wonder this doctor has his own practice and Dr. Amster is simply an employee of Americas Best.

Horrible, just had a vist, walked in for appointment yet was able to be seen today, staff not honest about contact back order and price of eye exam they have all these extra charges that make a regular eye exam 45$ to 95$ out the door, with no contacts or Rx. There were no other options given this store appears to be short for cash and unproffesional, in contrast to previously visted eye glass offices. Will never return in the future, dont like being ripped off and overcharged , consumers want to make choices not be locked in to outrages expectations/fees with no product. ( waiting 7-10 business days) BS.

The constant rude and dissatisfying experiences I have through this Dearborn heights location is one thing, but when I want to order contacts and being told NO everytime because the doctor feels you arent ready and you need to attend classes even though Ive worn contacts multiple times in the past before is more than irritating. One, Im a grown man. Dont tell me NO like I didnt just pay $79 for a contact exam. Two, dont tell me no WITH an attitude like Im getting on your nerves because I want my prescription and to order contacts. Guess Im gonna have to take this a step further and get legal involved. I dont have time for games. Theyve lost a customer.

Just had an eye exam at this location and was given a $200 price quote based off lense in old glasses then when I asked about 2 pair for $69.95 he said I could get that and with my $15 additional test so when I asked if I could put money down and pay the rest when I pick up was told no have to pay whole amount now, in my previous experience with other Americas Best stores in Michigan and St Louis I was able to either put money down and pay when I picked up glasses or pay whole amount when I picked up glasses this is my third time going to this store and each time I have an issue
