We lost our dog a couple of weeks ago and new we wanted to have him cremated. He passed in the evening after hours and the person on call was very courteous and someone called us back quickly. We were all set up and had our fur baby dropped off in good hands within an hour of our call. We couldnt thank this wonderful family for taking such good care of our Bub! Dave in particular was in charge of making sure everything was perfect for my mother’s viewing. He made sure to go every detail and made sure that my mother was well taken care of. Routsong has provide outstanding service in the recent passing of my family member. They were kind, gracious and understanding as our family worked through the details of the service. It is never easy when you are dealing with a sudden passing, however I would highly recomend Routsong for a company that has the compassion to work with grieving families.

Honestly it been about 7 years since I used Routsongs services and the experience is still sour. I was always told they are who you call when the day comes. So that was always my plan. Im still glad I did, but there is a but. My advice.... Make sure you are very clear with the salesperson, of what your intentions and expectations are. Remember that you are dealing with a business and they are they are making your event fit their model not necessarily your planed version of it. Dont be afraid to loudly speak your mind and if need be take a indifferent person with you on the planning day to watch your back.Sorry for your loss.

The entire staff at Routsong funeral home was so supportive after the loss of my father. They went above and beyond to make a difficult time much easier to deal with. The staff handled every piece of planning arrangements and did not miss a detail. They helped transport items from my house to the funeral home and even delivered the flowers to my house after. They also took all of our photos, scanned them and made a dvd for me. On my dads birthday which was 6 weeks post funeral, they sent me a message to check in on how I was doing. I highly recommend working with Sam and his family for your needs during an unfortunate time.

This is the first experience I have had to deal with laying a loved one to rest. I had no reference for what had to be done. The staff was beyond helpful and valuable in my experience. I highly recommend Routsong to anyone needing a service. Every single staff member that worked there was extremely helpful, empathetic and understanding throughout the whole process. I asked them if they would add more details to my dads obituary and without hesitation she opened his file and started typing. The office made me feel that my family and dad was their top priority.The night of his viewing he looked peaceful, put together and looked like my dad. They nailed it! They did an amazing job at preparing him. The day of the service Dave asked if I wanted to help close the casket. He gave me my last moment with my dad. I have never seen this. At the grave site there was no chairs but that was do to covid and restrictions.Routsong as a whole means family. My mom is going through Routsong for her funeral preperation. She is on a payment plan, the process was simple and the monthly payments are not bad. Routsongs funeral cost is very reasonable.Thank you Routsong for everything you did. Making funeral arrangements for my girlfriend of 35 years old was not an easy task to undertake, especially since her parents had already passed. Much of the decision making was left to me. Dave guided me through the process to make it as easy as possible, despite all of the restrictions in place from the pandemic. He and the staff were excellent in the care of my loved one prior to and after the cremation. They have also continued to reach out to me since then just to check in on my well-being and anything they can help with. Everyone I have been in contact with has been so caring and thoughtful, especially the goodest boy, Boat the therapy dog. Hes the sweetest little guy. My father was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer and had just begun treatment when he passed away. It was very unexpected. Our family was in shock. We immediately thought of Routsong Funeral Home on Stroop Road in Kettering, Ohio because we had my mother’s viewing and service there and they did a nice job then. I cannot express how accommodating, patient, kind and organized Samuel and his staff are. We were broken. Samuel guided us through the steps in preparing my dad’s services. My father had fallen in the hospital and had a 3 inch cut which was scabbed over on his forehead. Samuel did an outstanding job covering that cut. You couldn’t see it at all. I’ve been to several viewings and I’m always surprised by how much make-up they put on the deceased and how the hair never looks right. My father looked incredible.After the funeral Samuel personally delivered the flowers from the funeral home. He was so gracious and always asking if there was anything else he could do for our family. The staff was very kind and so organized. Routsong has since called and texted to see how the family is doing. In a time of grief, Routsong provided our family with the upmost respect and incredible care. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. A funeral is never easy to plan or be part of but Routsong did an amazing job helping us through this difficult time. They were caring, supportive, and thought of everything. We didnt have to worry about anything after choosing Routsong. They did all the legwork and took care of everything! They were extremely accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure all family was taken care of, even the youngest members of the family. I cannot recommend them enough.

My father passed away the week before Thanksgiving, and after several recommendations from friends, we chose the Routsong funeral home. All I can say is that I truly hope this is not the standard of care and attention they show to all their customers. The entire process was slow, and Routsong consistently failed to communicate with us what was going on. We never received any notification that my Father’s ashes were ready. When we finally contacted Routsong about the ashes, we found out they were there, however when we arrived to pick them up they did not have the correct urn and tried to give us one we did not order. Since they didn’t have the correct urn in stock, we were forced to wait for that to arrive. Once again we had to contact them to find out if the correct urn had arrived. Finally, and perhaps most egregiously, their lack of care and concern for COVID safety was appalling. The first time we went to the funeral home, we walked by plates of cookies set out buffet style, and Tommy Routsong offered us cookies and took his mask off in front of us to eat them. When we returned to finally pick up my Father’s ashes, Tommy Routsong emerged from another room and only put on his mask when he saw us. There were also multiple people working in the front office without a mask. I questioned this, and Tommy’s response was that they were “behind a barrier”. While that is true, I have not entered a single other business where every employee was not wearing a mask, barrier or not. There were also several other personnel going in and out of that area. This kind of blatant disregard for the safety of people like Mother, who are at high risk for COVID, is unacceptable. Tommy Routsong even told us that they had recently had over 20 COVID deaths come through their funeral home. I do not understand how you can see that kind of death toll from COVID and not have the courtesy to take even basic precautions to protect your community.

I knew nothing about funerals so when I lost my mom, I came to Routsong because my moms funeral was prearranged. I was in a haze and thankfully Sam Routsong took care of me. He let ME do the talking & HE LISTENED. I needed that. We went over the pre arrangements & with Sams help, my son & I finished the decisions. Sam even arranged for us to see Mom one last time before she was cremated. I was out of my element since I am NOT a decision maker, but Sam guided us safely with no additional costs. Planning a wake and funeral can never be a look forward to it experience, but working with the right people can make the experience less onerous and traumatic. When my Dad passed in 11/19 our family choose Routsong to make the arrangements. I am from Chicago so where we went was less a personal preference for me, but Routsong had handled my sisters service in 10/18 very well so I had no issues with the choice. What I found was that Sam Routsong and the other staff more than met our needs and concerns. From the gentleman that picked up my Dad from hospice to the office staff, etc everyone was kind, professional and sensitive. I always felt taken care of, but not smothered. I would highly recommend Routsong even though no one wants to go through the death of a loved one having professionals to assist you is to be greatly appreciated.

Routsong has done several of our family funerals. Everything has gone smoothly and they’ve been kind and considerate. The only problem we had was being left alone several times during the planning of my fathers funeral. The person who was helping us got up several times and left for extended amounts of time leaving us to wonder where she had gone. It took a lot longer than planned because of this. No big deal, they were pretty busy the day we were there

My Grandmother passed away in February and the level of service, caring, and overall compassion from everyone was amazing. They were all so nice from the owner to the staff. When my husband died unexpectedly, Sam Routsong was there for me every step of the way. Sam handled everything for me, which is very welcome when your life is in CHAOS. The facility is big, beautiful and clean. Everyone at Routsong was warm and welcoming. The best part of Routsong was they were able to handle the reception after the funeral in their building. They served soda/beer/wine and some food. I never would have been able to fit all funeral attendees at my house. The whole staff have been more than helpful and caring, they brought all her belongings to my home afterwards and have continued to show their passion and concerns. Roustong funeral home has done both funerals for my friends parents. The first one was in 2012 and the second one was this last weekend. Both times they went above and beyond. Sam was wonderful and walked them through every step. He made things so easy in their time of grief. Thank you Routsong!

We were very pleased with the service provided by Routsong. We met with Sam to go over the arrangements a couple days before the funeral. He was very patient and helped walk us through the all the details and logistics. Their Kettering facility is very nice with spaces for larger or smaller gatherings.They had a tent set up at the cemetery for us due to weather and Sam even delivered some of the flowers to us the next day.

My mother made the decision to pre plan and prepay for her funeral in April of 2018. She chose the flowers, the casket, the guest book and folders, even food to be served at the visitation. In February of 2019, sadly she passed away and we had to meet again with Sam Routsong to finalize her wishes. We were so grateful that those tough decisions had already been made. The only “hitch” we had was that our pastor was not available, so Sam suggested someone they had used in the past. That pastor did an excellent job. We had a lot of people comment that it was a beautiful funeral and everything went so well during both the visitation and funeral. I highly recommend Routsong Funeral home.

Sam was amazing, so compassionate, caring, patient, he made us feel so comfortable!! We were very nervous about everything, but Sam put us at ease and made our experience great. I greatly appreciated the assistance, customer service and professionalism I received from Sam and Stephanie. This teams attention to detail was second to none and I highly recommend their services.

Kylie the business manager was so short and rude with me on the phone. I was asking her why the remains of our pet was like bone shards and shells along the ocean after the cremation process, when i thought it would be more like a gray powder. First she tells me we shouldnt look at the remains, and my thoughts are, everyone has there own opinion on what works for them. Loosing a pet is a heart breaking experience and to be totally honest i have never been more shocked by how impatient and rude, Kylie the business manager was with me considering the circumstances. Just totally shocked!!!
