Ive never been to an optometrist before so I didnt know what to expect. Im glad I chose this place though. Dr. Baker and his staff were friendly and helpful, they answered any questions I had, and were thorough in their explanations of the instruments and prescription. They made the visit pleasant and I did not wait long at all. There was no ambiguity in their prices. Overall, a very pleasant experience. Prior to the appt I had talked to a different optometrist nearby, but their staff was very curt/rude on the phone. When I called Baker optometry their staff was friendly and helpful over the phone, willing to hear me out regarding my insurance and availability. Suffice to say, I do not regret choosing Baker optometry and am glad I did.

I highly recommend Dr. Baker. He took the time to answer my questions and I came away with a greater understanding about my eyes. I also needed to get in quickly and the staff did more than their best to accommodated me. Everyone in the office are terrific! I am grateful to have found such a great new optometry office. I had a great experience at Baker Optometry! I was able to get an appointment within two days of calling them and found the team to be extremely helpful and friendly. Dr. Bakers office staff was very efficient and getting me in for pretesting and then Dr. Baker himself brought me back for his exam minutes after I was back in waiting room. His exam was very thorough and he explains what he is doing and the results after the exam. He is very easy to talk with and ask additional questions.

Baker Optometry is great! The staff is so kind and helpful. It felt like they truly cared about my experience and the best care for me. I had previously been to Helmus Optometry but did not enjoy my experience there - they werent helpful or genuine and I was nervous I would have a similar experience here but that was far from the case. This is definitely the place to go!

Everyone here is super nice and knowledgeable. All the staff are very happy to walk you through exactly what each of their instruments do, help you shop for frames if you need advice, and go through each item of the bill and explain your different options with you. Theyre also very sanitary and strict with Covid protection guidelines which is very important. I should have been going here years ago.

The atmosphere in this office is amazing. The receptionist, the techs, and Dr. Baker are truly great people. They are attentive and genuinely interested in their clients as people. I no longer live in Davis, but still drive to see Dr. Baker because hes a great optometrist with a great staff!

Office staff are knowledgeable, helpful, and are eager to assist with any eyewear issues that may arise. Office is meticulously maintained and the pandemic guidelines are strictly adhered to. I’ve been a long time patient of Dr Baker, and have always been very happy with their care. I especially appreciate that their eye exam does not require dilation of the pupil with the stinging eye drops, they have an optical machine which does that more quickly and without the need for being half blind for the rest of the day!

This was the best optometrist I have ever been to. They have the most amazing customer service. They made me feel warm and welcome every single time I came in and called to speak with the staff. Dr Baker is very helpful and great with his patients. The ladies that work there make you feel like family. I didn’t want to leave. Every time I go there I feel like I’m at a family members house. We can talk for hours. They are even great with my kids! They are so respectful, and sweet and make sure I have everything that I need. You should definitely choose Baker Optometry!!!

Wish I could give 10 stars! Ive been going to Dr. Baker for about 5 years. He is everything you could want in an optometrist - extremely competent and equally caring. Hes down to earth and friendly, and somehow always remembers me, even if Ive havent seen him for two years. The office staff is also efficient and pleasant, and you can tell that everyone values their customers. Do yourself a favor and give Dr. Baker a try if youre in the market for an optometrist.

Dr. Baker and staff are beyond excellent. The best place to go in Davis. They are always polite, professional, and welcoming. I just had my appointment in January and the exam was thorough and relaxing. The staff took great care and time with me as I picked out new frames. They explained all the options (lens coating, transitioning lenses, etc) and they helped me navigate my insurance information. They also cleaned and adjusted my (and my wifes) current glasses while I waited. Thanks BakerEyes!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Baker for 4 years now and it’s always a delightful experience. He’s down to earth, funny, and professional. The entire staff at Baker Optometry is fantastic - they are all super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Last time I was there I accidentally left my jacket and they called within a half hour to let me know they had it and were holding it for me. Thankfully my wife had an appointment the next day so she grabbed it for me. I can’t wait until I can go back in to pick out some sweet new glasses!I highly recommend seeing Dr. Baker and his staff. This was my first time seeing Dr. Baker. The office was open and inviting. Every employee I saw was helpful and polite with each portion of my visit. Dr. Baker was friendly and answered all of my many questions. I will definitely be returning.

Dr. Baker is the best optometrist. His examination has always been thorough and his prescription effective. He was never rushed and took time to explain everything. I like his new office; it is a ten minutes walk from my home and has plenty of parking spaces if I choose to drive.

I am so appreciative of Dr. Alex Baker. I came to him when he first arrived in Davis after a really bad experience with the previous optometrist. Dr. Baker has been consistently intelligent, professional, considerate, meticulous in his data keeping. He stayed in contact with my other doctors who had mended a giant retinal tear ( that occurred before i met him)- i had both an ophthalmologist and a retinal surgeon on that team. He has been meticulous on follow up care. He has spentbthe time with me to communicate about every aspect of eye care. I highly recommend him.

12/2019-- This was my first time seeing Dr. Baker and I will definitely return. He is very knowledgeable, kind, and patient. He took the extra time to make sure that I was sure about my answers during the eye exam (i.e., whether option #1 or #2 was clearer) and didnt make me feel rushed at all. The whole team--from the folks at the front desk to the opticians--were so welcoming and helpful. Great experience!4/2021--I had another great visit with Dr. Baker. Everyone in the office is so helpful and kind and always makes me feel welcome. I am grateful for how thorough Dr. Baker is at explaining the results of the different eye assessments. The offices covid protocols were impressively thorough, so I felt very safe the entire visit. I live out-of-state but prefer Baker over any other Optometrist, so I schedule my yearly appointments when I visit family in town.

When I’m over there for my appointment, other patients/clients are always asking for him, they specifically want to see Dr. Baker. And I can relate. Dr. Baker is the best Optometry Specialist I ever had.My eyesight is extremely ‪nearsighted, with light cylinder and also a plus deviation‬ due to age. Dr. Baker is extremely well-informed and makes sure he’s up to date by always staying tuned with newest eye-research information. He takes the time to explain, is genuinly friendly by character, so you really feel welcome.By everything you can tell he’s a driven optometrist, and his first goal always is to help people see things perfectly.

In the 30ish years Ive been wearing glasses, Baker Optometry is by far my favorite place for eye exams, glasses, and contacts. Dr. Baker is super nice and his office team is very friendly and helpful.

The best place to go in Davis

Having had a great experience with Dr. Alex Baker when he was at Helmus and Baker Optometry on 2nd St. in Davis, I was excited to see his new office on the northwest corner of Covell and Anderson (entrance is on Covell). I walked in today, knowing it was time to schedule my annual appointment. I was greeted by the same gracious, friendly staff I saw last year. Good start. I caught a break and was able to get an appointment, almost immediately. Although they just moved over, everything ran efficiently. Very thorough exam. I was pre-med in college so always ask too many questions, but Dr. Baker was very gracious and more than put up with me. Same great optometrist, same cutting edge technology, . I am so grateful. If he was your doctor before, welcome back. If you’ve never visited, please stop by and experience how great this office is.
