I came here as a walk in, since the emergency room was booked and I had already wasted 5 hours there to not get help. When I spoke with the receptionist she made me feel very judged. She told me that no Doctor For hip issues was on duty but that I could essentially waste a $60 co pay to see a doctor that will just refer me to the correct Doctor. She then proceeded to tell me the Doctor wont be giving me any medications... As if I was there seeking drugs. I came because I needed help. I am in a lot of pain and I just want some kindness and compassion and to get my problems evaluated. The appointment I have scheduled with them is over a month out and I need help sooner as I am not getting sleep And am missing work due to disfunction. But the way she treated me made it clear there was zero compassion or help to be given. So I left and drove home bawling my eyes out. I am still in a lot pain and have run out of options to get any sort of help. The medical system has failed me once again.

After injuring my back during a major storm clean-up, followed by substantial and worsening pain over a six-month span, I met with Dr. Michael Dolphin for evaluation. Having tried all manner of therapy and medication without pain relief, I was more than ready to consider surgery, and he had been highly recommended. Nine days after a minimally invasive lumbar laminotomy (L4-5), I was finally able to walk upright--pain free, and without restrictions. Miraculous! My heartfelt thanks to Dr. Dolphin and the entire dedicated staff at Orthopaedic Specialists, PC.

Have had a Dr. / Patient relationship for years with Dr. Hoffman. His staff, from reception to nurses and x-ray to PA Dean are always professional, helpful in answering all my questions and care about my well being. Recently had knee replacement and his pre surgery routine helped with post surgery comfort. Very pleased with all my interactions with Dr. Hoffman and his team.

Dr. John Hoffman and staff did an amazing job to relieve my pain and help put a more positive look to the future with my total knee replacement. Jason was highly knowledgeable and very caring and concerned about my foot. He throughly went over my X-rays with me.Jason was hospitable and suggested a few different options to minimize my pain with my plantar fasciitis and provide suggestions to relieve my pain. I’ve been dealing with this since 2015. It gets better then worse. Looking forward to complete resolution and I know Jason will get to the bottom of my extensive pain with a through evaluation and then a complete diagnosis.

With 2020 being a horrible year, one of the bright spots was Orthopedic Specialists. First, their staff is very friendly. They are top notch. Second, Dr. Mendel is amazing. I had my left should repaired. It now feels better than it has in over ten years. Then, because its 2020, I ruptured my right bicep tendon. He also fixed that up for me. I have a small scar and my arm is doing great. I cant thank Dr. Mendel and his staff enough. I am into Spartan Races and cant wait to get back to doing them next year.

I was seeing a doctor at another practice for a knee problem. I felt as if this doctor wasnt doing anything to help with my knee issue. I went to see Dr. Darmafall. My first visit with her, she outlined the process that we would follow to get me back to my regular state of activity.She helped me so much more in one visit then the prior doctor did in three visits. She is a very understanding and warm hearted person. I wish I would have seen her first. Her staff is also very nice and friendly. I have recommended her to many people and will continue to do so.

I have never dealt with a more difficult group of office staff. Scheduling was a nightmare. They lost x-rays and an MRI. It took days for a return phone call and then the girl was the rudest thing Ive ever dealt with. They screwed up the insurance information twice.

I went to Orthopedic Specialists PC after having issues from a previous surgery done by a different orthopedic surgeon. The previous surgeon stated that my hand would be what it was and that would be that.I meet with Dr. Crosmer and explained my problem. I just wanted someone to take time and look at what could be done if anything. Dr. Crosmer did just that. Her and her team listened and with no promises that my hand could be completely fix they came up with a course of action that could help. They took the time to listen and explain all my options. Feel that they actually care about doing everything they can to make you feel like an individual and not just a number.

Ive never even seen a doctor the customer service here is horrible. My doctor did a referral for my ankle, I provided all the necessary information the office requested. The doctor would not see me, and it was recommended I go back to ORA for treatment. I was never treated for my ankle and when I called back to see why, no explanation was given. I am totally disappointed to have to start this process over when its a new injury because the doctor refused.

Jen is always polite and smiling. Asks the right questions and provides great feedback. It’s almost a pleasure to see her.

Once again Doc walked me through all of the issues I have and what the next step that can be taken to help with the issues. Great health care service.

Jason is wonderful he was professional,and explain things to me in a way I could understand. He made me feel like I was in control of my medical decisions, and made sure I had all the knowledge I would need to make my decisions. All The staff was great from the moment I walked through the door. I was greeted with; helpful, friendly and professional staff.

Called the patient advocate regarding concerns of treatment of a family member, and instead the office tells the doctor himself to return the call. Instead of listening to the concerns like an adult medical professional, he proceeded to interrupt, launch into a defensive argument, insult both his patient AND myself as the caregiver for DARING to have a complaint, and called it ridiculous and an insult to his intelligence that someone would have a concern or complaint. Couldnt get a word in because he was so concerned with having his argument be the last word. We as patients and caregivers have a right to voice concerns, and not only was it unprofessional of their patient advocate to sic the complained-against party on the caller, but the fact that the concerns werent even treated with respect and time is unacceptable in the medical field. I wasnt even given the opportunity to ask questions on the call.Im wondering which program gave a 4-year-old toddler a medical license, because it felt like I was speaking to a spoiled child who cant handle criticism. He has less bedside manner than a pet rock. My advice is to go to Iowa City and save your loved ones the trouble.

After my car accident, I was in constant pain. I visited Dr. Dolphin after several months of therapy. He patiently worked with me to find the best option to relieve the pain, understanding surgery was not my first choice. When it became apparent surgery was necessary, I went for a second opinion. It was Dr. Dolphins complete understanding of spinal cord surgery, options available, and patience as he explained everything to me that gave me the confidence to choose him as my surgeon. I am now fully recovered, happy, and pain free!

I have been thru three separate surgeries with the medical staff (spine, foot and ankle related) and would recommend them without hesitation. Excellent staff. Excellent service. Excellent follow-up. Truly some of the best people to work with and to trust with your medical needs.

This morning i was my first appointment with Dr. Dolphin. i fell down the stairs a few weeks ago and did some major damage to my spine.i had been looking forward to this appointment since i made it. When i called in she asked what kind of insurance i had, she told me they accepted that but to call and make sure my insurance would approve this kind of specialist. I made the call, they approved it, i made the appointment.when i showed up today and was filling out paperwork i wrote down i had secondary insurance they did not accept. I said no problem please just bill everything to my primary insurance we will pay what is not covered by my secondary.They literally refused to see me because they said the type of secondary insurance what state. Even though they were not billing my state insurance. Just by HAVING the secondary state insurance they refused my visit.I cant even understand this thought process. needless to say i was excited to see this dr. He seemed really well liked and reviewed so i guess just make sure you ask all the right questions.I had no idea about this secondary insurance rule and we drove a hour and a half to make this appointment. It was a huge waste of time.

I have been to many other orthopedic practices in the past but this one beat all of my expectations. He takes time with you and explains things in detail until you truly understand what is going to happen. He checked in each day while I was on the surgical floor. I have had some surgeons turn me away as a patient and another not want to fix the problem and only do epidurals which went on for years. Dr Dolphin gave me his best.

I was putting up with the pain for over 3 years and was so grateful to be referred to Dr. Hoffman and I could not be any happier with the results in less than a week I am moving around and looking forward to going back to work next week 😉. The entire staff is AMAZING!!

Dr. Mendels professionalism is without competition, I have seen doctors who never look me in the eye, just at the computer during visits. I also have heard from people who had Dr. Mendel for surgery that he was exceptional and I would have to agree.

Dr. Hoffman and staff were friendly and professional. The consultation was scheduled quickly. The entire appointment time took 1hour 45 minutes, including imaging. They took time to discuss the details of the diagnosis & treatment plan (hip). Their confidence and knowledge put us at ease--our experience thus far has been 5 stars!

The entire staff from reception to imaging is always very polite and helpful. My wait was nonexistent. Dr. Crosmer was thorough and knowledgeable.

Dr. Hoffman replaced both of my arthritic knees with great success . His entire surgical staff was incredible. From the PAs to nursing and office staff they made my surgical experience a breeze. Remember to use their physical therapy group downstairs, Plaza Therapy. The same excellent care is delivered there.

The staff are wonderful. Had my back surgery on Sept 9th. Minimal pain after surgery. Staples taken out today and I can say that I am 100 percent better now than prior to surgery. If I would need further surgery would not hesitateto have Dr Dolphin again

I didn’t know exactly what to expect in regards to having shoulder surgery but from the beginning to end, the staff was hospitable, full of knowledge, and very accurate while explaining things to me.

Dr. Dolphin gave me my life back! I had emergency surgery on August 21st, 2019 due to a herniated disc that was in the spinal cord. I had Cauda Equina syndrome. I was pain-free when I woke up from surgery, and went home the next day! He is extremely professional and answers every question. I highly recommend Dr. Dolphin as he is an amazing skilled surgeon. I was in the office today for cortisone shots in both knees. As always, Jason did the injections without any discomfort at all. If I hadnt been watching him I would not have known he had ever done them. I have had horrible experience in the past with these injections, however, since coming to Orthopedic Specialists and having Jason do the injections, I have gotten relief each and every time! He also takes the time to listen to your questions and answer them. He never makes me feel rushed!

Aaron listened to my concerns, answered my questions and then answered my questions I had on those answers! Thank you for thoroughly explaining things in a different way versus just repeating your first answer. Very helpful!

Dr. Mendel is terrible and his staff is worst. I have dealt with this doctors office since November. It is difficult to get straight forward answers. His staff and him are incompetent and condescending as well. I have dealt with a injury for a while and my doctor referred to me to a few doctors. Since it was winter most doctors offices where full with new patients and surgery. He had a few opens so I went to him. It took about a month from the referral to see him. There was always a issue with scheduling, days, and even times. Once I finally seen him he came in the room for around 5-6 minutes and asked barely any questions such as “hows your pain?”, “how do you feel?”, “did what this doctor did worked?”. None of that just what he wanted to do and how he wanted to do it. I was given multiple medications that didn’t work, off his recommendation again. And now he looked me in the eye and said “your issue is to advance for me to do anything about, and I figured that from the beginning”. So, after around 3 months of dealing with this guy he tells me that he is unqualified to fix my issue? Now I’m back to square one and feel equally as bad as the first day I seen him.

Highly recommend. I wanted to get better and the expertise made it happen.

It was my first time seeing Dr. Crosmer and she was very thorough and her PA was very efficient giving my injection into my trigger thumb ! Also ordered an MRI for my finger so will get that and see her again.

Just get tired of receptionists being rude and condescending attitude when you check in for appointment. It makes the whole visit very unfriendly and on edge experience. Their attitude sets the whole office atmosphere and wish they would understand this concept.

This facility seems overbooked. Staff does not return messages or phone calls causing a severe lack of communication between patients and doctors/nurses. This is a good example of a mediocre/poor health care system.It is noted that the staff are extremely friendly and helpful if you can get an appointment and see someone face to face.

Called to ask reception a question and she was so rude. Would not see these doctors after the way reception treats you. Called ora orthopedics in moline and reception was wonderful there.
