The counselor I seen was Michael Cox. I went in for my first and only appointment on October 20. During my session Michael explained (repetitively) that he really didnt like when people canceled their appointments. He had said unless it is an absolute family emergency, please just keep your appointment. I fully understood where he was coming from and respected him more for committing to want to keep routine. At the end of my session I was put on his schedule for the next month. I received a phone call the day before my next appointment from Michael saying he was very sorry but he would have to cancel because he is sick. I completely understood, I mean we are in a pandemic and no one wants to be responsible for getting someone else sick. My next came along and again was canceled. Still, I understood. Jumping to my last appointment that was scheduled for November 17, I received that same call. I had been canceled on for an entire month. I am aware if Michael was ill, but why was I not given anymore information from the office? Perhaps to be given the option to speak with someone else until he is back in the office? After all of this I read a review from another patient and I felt I needed to make one myself. I am writing only in hopes that the office makes changes if something like this occurs again. I was very disappointed when I decided not to make another appointment with QC Counselor, but I felt I was left out in the dust. I truly hope this isnt a reoccurring issue, but I felt others needed to be aware of my experience.

Let me start off by saying it took a lot of courage for me to go see a therapist 5+ years but I finally did, and I wish I hadn’t. My therapist would constantly watch the clock not even in a way to be cautious of time in a way of “I wish this would be over” , in my sessions he wouldn’t ask me about my thoughts or feelings he would talk about things like the weather, or restaurants then like in the last 5 minutes of the session he would ask “is there anything you want to cover that we didn’t” as if we had time. My very last session, I knew was my last session as I had tried to explain an issue with addiction and he printed out for example a flyer for an AA meeting and basically said talk to them, imagine a therapist not even wanting to hear you talk about your problems. I felt terribly low. I knew I wasn’t returning they sent me a missed appointment letter with a $40 fee, and the fee wasn’t even the issue it’s like how do you even feel comfortable sending this after how you did your job.. If your seeking a therapist you may want to go elsewhere, maybe to someone who actually wants to hear what you have to say..

I cant post how many positive things this place has brought me. I have been seeing a therapist for several years and this is the first place that made me feel like they actually cared about the patients and not the money. I have been going here for six years and it is hands down one of the best facilities in the quad cities. I would bet one of the best in Iowa. I recommend at least calling and getting an appointment to try it and see. You wont regret visiting them.

I give this place 3 stars. We were being seen by a counselor named Michael Cox, but had to cancel 1 appointment because our daughter was sick. When we tried to reschedule with him he completely ignored us. I left him several voicemails until I finally decided to schedule with someone else. After that he sent us a $43 bill for our missed app. Completely unprofessional and I would not recommend booking with him. However, we are now seeing Scott Fluegel and he is great!

Our first appointment I googled the Dr. and went to her old office address. We called to verify we should still come but would be 5-10 minutes late. Receptionist said, yes come. When we arrived the Dr refused to see us. They then charged us a $40 missed appointment fee and turned it into collections. We saw the Dr leave for the day while we sat in the parking lot.
