I had a freak accident which left me with a badly scratched cornea. I googled and was lucky enough to find Darien Eye Specialists. They saw me within an hour of the accident and gave me great care. Dr. Varghese saw me 3 times in 4 days to make sure I was on the mend and that no infection set in. Luckily, I healed 100%, and I attribute a big part of that to the immediate and excellent care I received. I’m so grateful.

My prescription expired and I couldn’t get in at my normal eye specialist so I called Darien eye specialist and they were able to get me in the same day. I was so happy because I was basically out of contacts. As I entered the door the staff was very welcoming, professional, and friendly. The office was also super clean! The doctor I saw was awesome and made some suggestions as far as comfort for my eyes. I was given a sample pair of daily lenses and as soon as I placed them in my eyes I could tell the difference. This office is wonderful. I went here for an eye exam due to recently experiencing headaches. Dr. Varghese listened closely as I described my headaches and asked lots of questions about different lifestyle factors to see what all could be contributing. I definitely felt as though I was seeing a doctor who genuinely cared about helping me solve a health issue, and not just someone who wanted to sell me expensive glasses.They also have great safety protocol during the pandemic. They keep the door locked during the day so only patients with appointments are welcomed inside, and only one patient is in the office at a time.If you are looking for a new eye specialist, I highly recommend them!

I was so impressed with Dr. Varghese, Jasmine and the rest of the staff! Everyone was so generous with their time. I was not at all surprised to later read that Dr. Varghese graduated Summa Cum Laude and also has a Bachelors in Psychology. She is kind and very competent. Darien Eye Specialists were very accommodating in getting me a last minute appointment. I suspected i had an eye infection, so they squeezed me in so I could see the doctor right away so I could get back to work. Everyone is very nice, attentive, and helpful!

Even in the middle of a pandemic the office is very well organized and theyve taken excellent precautions to make sure social distancing is kept. Not to mention the incredibly friendly staff. I switched from a For Eyes clinic to Darien Eye Specialists this year. Two years ago, For Eyes assigned me a lens prescription that didn’t feel right to me. After my appointment with Dr. Varghese, she confirmed my suspicion and gave me a corrected prescription that felt a lot better to me. Her advice and guidance was both professional and extremely helpful. The staff is very friendly and helped me pick out a great pair of frames. Their selection of frames was very extensive and trendy as well. The clinic’s COVID-19 safety Protocols made me feel safe and comfortable. Overall I had a great experience and I highly recommend their clinic!

I stopped in unannounced because of a sudden change of my eyesight and I was extremely upset. They took me in and treated me and showed me that they cared and calm me down. I have lived in Darien for 20 years and never been here!! This little cute hideaway is just what I needed in my life! As a cautious outside goer during this pandemic I was a bit worried to get my eyes checked but my headaches kept getting worse! I decided to try Darien Eye Specialists because their website thoughtfully explained their new procedures on safety and this trip was so easy! All I had to do was call and I was set! HUGE SHOUTOUT to Jasmine who helped me with my vision insurance because that was literally amazing! They have you print out the forms before you get there so less time in the office and you call before you walk in so everything is clean and sanitized specifically for you! I am so sad I did not catch my new eye doctors name, but her chair side manner, if you will, was amazing. She explained everything to me and helped me realize why I was getting headaches! The girls in the front even helped me pick out a frame because I have never had a paid of glasses before. Today was my first day off in a week and I was dreading going out and doing something, but my experience here actually put me in a better mood than what I came in with. Thanks so much! I cant wait for those glasses to come in! ♡

Amazing experience. Came in initially for glasses for my daughter since she lost hers. Staff was very patient with her trying on all the kids’ glasses. Then my son asked for glasses, so they took him as a last minute appointment for an eye exam. Dr. Varghese was very patient with my son and did a thorough exam. At first, he was squinting to try to fail his eye exam to get glasses (yes, my son! lol), and I think Dr. Varghese realized his techniques. Mind you, then she put on ‘Superman glasses’ as she called them, and he was able to read the lines perfect. So, thank you again to Dr. Varghese for thoroughly checking him. However, he actually started crying because he did not need glasses and was very distraught. Well here steps in great customer service from Cathy, Jasmine, and Kate who totally took care of him; they gave him an extra pair of glasses from the back that didn’t have a prescription plus a case. It totally made his day and he hasn’t stopped wearing them since. It made me tear up from his happiness from their wonderful customer service! The service here from the Doctor to the Staff went literally above and beyond; and I am so grateful for Darien Eye and being able to work with them. Would totally recommend them to anyone!

I have been a patient at DES for several years. Dr. Varghese is one of the most thorough, patient and kindest doctors Ive ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I have never felt rushed and my concerns are always appropriately addressed. Even my young children are eager to have Dr. Varghese check on their eyes! This small office is quaint, clean and inviting. The staff is always very welcoming and extremely helpful when it comes to picking out new frames, coordinating with insurance and ensuring a proper fit when the frames come in. My contacts and glasses always seem to arrive ahead of schedule. I must also mention that I had a family member visiting from out of town and she awoke on a Saturday with an eye issue that became urgent. I called DES and Dr. Varghese readily agreed to adjust her personal schedule so that she could accommodate an appointment and we could avoid a trip to the ER. What a testament to their ethics! This is a beautifully run practice... your eyes will thank you!

Doctors are great. Office staff is terrible and very unhelpful. My pregnant wife and I spent 1k+ on frames and contacts only to receive terrible service when trying to fit. Try somewhere else.

Sooo bad. The specialists are not good in checking up. Waiting months to receive my new glasses. They give it to me without any case!!!Dont advice anyone to go there.If I find less than one star Ill rate them.

After going through the reviews, one would expect a good experience from this place. But this place is very unprofessional! There is no greeting from the staff and the Dr.! Besides, he gave me a wrong prescription and when I went back to him to get the problem fixed, he did not even check!Save your time and go elsewhere! Dr. Robert needs to go through certification again as he did not even do a thorough eye exam!
