I have been going here 5 years now, with my second pregnancy and now with my third. I have seen all 4 doctors, Whitcombe, Miller, Khan and Kontarines. Doctors are wonderful, professional personable and kind. Receptionists however are unprofessional and always seems to be bothered when they answer the phone whether Im calling about prescription or just questions regarding my care. Nurse practitioners attitude is not the best either. The only reason I still go here are because of the doctors. Receptionists attitude is gearing me towards finding a new OB though.

I had my yearly appointment that I scheduled a long time ago & also confirmed by phone. Before going to my scheduled appointment (& early, no less) , I checked both my home voicemail & my cell voicemail & there were no messages from Women’s Health cancelling my appointment, but, upon arriving early, the receptionist initially said that they do not have me scheduled for an appointment today, to which I responded in saying that yes, I already called to confirm my appointment a few days ago & that I definitely have my yearly appointment scheduled for today. The receptionist then changed her story & told me that they had to cancel my appointment and did call me. I then stated that I checked my voicemail from both home and cell before leaving for this appointment and they left no message cancelling on me. They did not apologize, nor did they offer any explanation whatsoever as to why they cancelled on me when I had already arrived in their office without warning me beforehand. They suggested I reschedule and I calmly (but resolutely) stated that, although my previous doctor is further from my home, I fully intend to go back to him as in the four years with Dr.Goldstein at Candlewood , he never once cancelled on me without any warning or voicemail when I had already arrived in office. If you want to worry about a doctor’s office randomly cancelling on you after you have already arrived in their office & with no voicemail warning beforehand, no apology or explanation as to why they cancelled on you after you had already arrived, then Women’s Health...If you want a facility you can count on, then I advise Dr. Goldstein or Anyone else at Candlewoodas I am switching back to them after this...

RUDE receptionists. And the Dr didn’t even give me a second to discuss any questions I had, zoomed right in and out of the appt in under 5 minutes.

Never accommodating to working people. Ive waited almost 2 months to be seen after 5:30 pm. They call me 90 minutes before my appointment to cancel. If I want to reschedule it will be another 4 weeks before I can get in. I even called earlier in the day to confirm my time they asked if I could come at 5pm instead of 6:15. I told them it wouldnt be possible she said thats fine well see you at 615. Now this. It sounds to me like Dr. K just wants to get out early and does not want to wait for my appointment. This is not the first time its happened either. It sounds like the receptionist has to make these calls frequently too by her lack of concern. Hmmm

Was very happy with my change to this practice. No complaints whatsoever. I felt that Dr. Whitcombe listened to me, and spent ample time with me. Very professional, but personable and kind.

Horrible receptionists and service, my appointment was on Monday and I had to reschedule it bcz of some urgent work. On Saturday they close 12 and I called in 12 mins before their closing time but voicemail said the office was closed. And I tried few times but same answer, on Monday morning when I called in and told them about the call I made on Saturday they rudely confronted me and tried to prove me a liar. And on top they told me they will charge me a $50 no show fee and if I don’t pay they will discharge me and will not offer me their services any more.Such a horrible place, run by nonprofessionals, never recommend this place to anyone.

Scammers... due to some reason my insurance was gonna active within 24 hours and I had to pay the dr from my own pocket. And at the reception I was told that we will hold ur money and once ur insurance is active we Ill refund ur money. The office got its company from my insurance next day but never refunded my money. I called women health associate to talk about this issue and confronted about this issue they told me they will refund my money within 3 days. And its been over a month and still I have not received my money back... this office is run by scammers...

I agree the bedside manner can be cold. However I miscarried twins and needed a D&C and the staff was wonderful and kind. Later I got pregnant and needed a last minute c section after laboring on my own. The Drs were great letting me labor first and then opting for csection when my sons heart rate was dropping and not recovering. They were right on with their choices and explained everything to me. I had a c section that resulted in almost no scar and a very good experience. For surgery or medical concerns/complications I would go there no questions asked first choice. For a general check up or with a teenage daughter I would look for a kinder or more sensitive practice.

Havent been here too long but already looking to change practices. My physician seemed to blow me off when I ask questions, and acted very unprofessionally. Ive also had a problem with the receptionist, Claire; she seemed as though inquiring about an appointment was an annoyance to her and she didnt want to bothered to do so. I was incredibly dissatisfied with the way I was spoken to and would never recommend this office due to how belittled and degraded I felt after making a phone call. I really had high hopes for this office since it was recommended to me by a friend, however I was then informed it was only because she was just used to going there.

OMG the receptionist that answers the phone at this practice are by far the WOST and RUDEST receptionist Ive ever spoken to. The practice is constantly making mistakes in regards to prescription refills. I called the office to notify them that they had made a mistake and given me refills my old birth control prescription in stead of giving me refills on the new one the doctor just gave me. When I spoke to the lady on the phone she yelled at me and told me it was my fault the mistakes were made because I did not stay on top of my prescriptions and I was an incompetent patient. Since when is it the patients fault for mistakes the office makes?? She also told me Id have to wait until the end of the day for the matter to be fixed because the office was too busy to fix the problem at the moment even though I told her I need to take my birth control pills at a certain time. She told me to just take them in the afternoon and Ill be fine!! Anyone who has taken a birth control pill knows timeliness is very important if you want the pills to work!!! She never once apologized for the inconvenience. Also making an appointment at his office is like pulling teeth. I wanted to schedule a follow up appointment with the doctor and was hounded with questions and the receptionist kept telling me the Dr was busy and I didnt need to come in for that. It shouldnt be up the receptionist to decide if I need to see the doctor! what a B***. I am a receptionist a drs office and Id be fired if I ever spoke to patient like this!!! I do not recommend going to this office because it is nothing but endless problems and mistakes.

Having read these reviews, I felt compelled to add my own, not something I generally do. It seems that only negative comments are being posted and this is a successful, busy, thriving practice - and for good reason. Ive been a patient of this practice for at least 10 years and have never, ever had a bad experience. In fact, quite the opposite. Ive seen several of the MDs. One of my first visits was with Dr. Blau who was over-the-top excellent in discussing my issues, and unexpectedly more understanding and caring than Id ever experienced an OB/GYN to be (and at my age, and moving as often as I have, Ive been through a fair amount of them). My MD of the last few years is Dr. Kontarinas, who is excellent, warm, funny, caring, and perfect in every way - she removed my ovaries years ago and the operation was easy, smooth, and my scar is virtually invisible. The staff is long-term and personable. I cant say Ive ever encountered the PA, Beth, or Claire, the receptionist, since Ive never had any kind of negative experience here. I just made my annual appt , speaking with Maria, and it was as pleasant as it always has been. I anticipate the visit being as comforting and comfortable as it, too, has always been.
