I worked for Live in for the Elderly 3 weeks ago. I walk off a case they placed me on because the client and the agency did not allow me to sleep at nights. The agency hires only immigrants and take advantage of our rights. They want us to lie on our timesheets while the owner and the company makes all the money at our expense of not sleeping at nights. They lie about cases and set no regulations for the safety of the caregivers.I hope the Connecticut department of health will investigate this agency and help caregivers work in a safe environment for both the clients and caregivers.

Misleading and lack of integrity! Surprised I am the first to give this organization one star. I recently employed with this company as an aide and during the hiring process the managers make it very clear for all aides...7 days of work equals guaranteed pay of $850 before taxes. Not a bad deal right? Clock in and clock out at the hours you are suppose to and stay for the full 7 days and you should have accumulated overtime giving you a hard weeks earning of $850. However, this is far from the truth. In my case I worked from Tuesday-Tuesday.The company fails to tell you that if you start work mid weekend then this will ultimately affect your over time. Therefore there are not enough hours from Tuesday to Saturday to qualify for overtime and the remaining Sunday to Tuesday starts a new week. Which means new payroll period. These are the rules and this is fine, by all means am I not complaining. However, I firmly believe this company lacks the integrity and as a result are misleading their employees or soon to be employees. When you sit with the manager and he/she goes over your earnings they will guarantee no matter what, 7 days = $850. Another thing to keep in mind for Aides who are new and looking to work for any home care organization is the $70 insurance coverage that is automatically taken from your check. If you work a full 7 days starting on a weekday, then keep in mind the taxes withheld, $70 insurance coverage and then do yourself a favor and erase any hopes of overtime you may have been promised. Finally, before you commit the next 168 hours of your time ask yourself is it worth it?

I have been in and around Homecare for 22 years. Delia of Live-Ins For The Elderly, is one of the most caring women I have met. She observed that Love and Home really are the best Medicine for anyone, especially the Elderly.Delia cares and that care is evident in the way she treats her Clients, their Elderly loved ones, and Caregivers alike.
