I went to this dentist for a few years but had to change dentists when I moved out of state. Now I realize how deficient my dental care was during my time at this dental practice. For most of my adult life Ive had to wear a night guard to protect my teeth because I grind them at night. I brought this up with Dr. Villasin nearly every time I visited and he would always dismiss my concerns or not seem particularly interested in what I had to say. At my insistence, I asked for a new nightguard to be made for me because my old one wasnt fitting properly anymore. He assured me a soft nightguard would be sufficient and I took him at his word. Fast forward a couple of years later, he notices a chip in one of my back molars. He offers to sand it down but later I realize the other back molars have chips in them too, as I can feel with my tongue the jagged edges of my teeth where the chips were occurring. When I asked him to take a look during my next appointment he assured me there was nothing wrong. I asked again about the nightguard and possibly getting a new one made but he still said I didnt need one. I had one more cleaning and again he doesnt raise any concern with my teeth. After I moved out of state I went to a new dentist 3 months later and they immediately told me I was having all sorts of problems with my back molars being chipped and one molar was almost completely worn down. My fillings were falling out and I had cavities that Dr. Villasin never noticed. Now, I find it highly unlikely that within a three month period between the time Dr. Villasin saw me and when the new dentist saw me that my teeth deteriorated that quickly. Sure enough, a lot of these problems that I have to get fixed now could have been avoided if he had just listened to me and helped me get a proper nightguard so I wouldnt grind down my teeth. The warning signs were there but he ignored them and couldnt even catch simple cavities that were obviously there even to me when I looked in the mirror. I hope not everyone has had a bad experience like I have. I suggest to others who attend this practice that suspect theyre not getting the best care: go seek a second opinion.
