Ive been a patient here for almost two years. I worked with Dr. Patel and treatment under his care was going alright in that time. I had a mental health crisis after starting a new medication and had a brief phone call with Dr. Patel regarding my side effects. He advised I continue the medication and meet with him in two days to update him on my mood and symptoms. The office called me a day before the appointment and advised I would have to pay for a completely new appointment to be seen. This does not seem right. I am experiencing bad side effects from a medication prescribed two weeks ago and the only way I can talk with the doctor is to pay for a whole new appointment. At this point I am experiencing worse symptoms than before the medication and cannot receive any direction without paying again.

After many years of crippling anxiety, suicidal ideals took, depression and 6 years of seeing another psychiatrist and getting put on all sorts of medications that made me feel insane... I finally saw Dr Patel. First thing he recommended was TMS, I was unsure at first but not having the anxiety or depression I struggled with for years sounded amazing. So I went for it. It turned out to be the BEST thing that has ever happened to me. I finished TMS about 6 months ago and I have no anxiety, suicidal thoughts or depression, at all anymore. Dr Patel and Medina (who preformed my TMS) CHANGED MY LIFE!!!! If I could give them a million stars I would! My life is completely different, I am so happy, my friends and family noticed a difference within the first week and I no longer take anxiety or depression medication. Dr Patel listens to you and has different ways of treatment then I’ve ever experienced. He talked to me listened and then found a way to free me of my mental illness. Forever thankful for these people and the way they positively impacted my life!

You have to go through hoops to see a therapist. Your constantly bombarded by negative messages, emails and a phone call. If you don’t do this or that you can’t or won’t be seen. I thought I completed the process and all the paperwork. I uploaded my Driver’s License and my BCBS insurance card. I get a text or an email the day before my appointment saying you forgot to fill out 2 of the 10 forms. I never received a link or email to see a therapist. At this point, I am overwhelmed by the negative vibes coming from whoever coordinates the services. I have two degrees an AAS in mental health, chemical dependency, and IDD and a BA in psychology. Have you all considered a person level of functioning, depression, situation, trauma stress level etc... Thanks for waisting my time. Tonya I really looked forward to meeting you.

Dr. Patel is by far the best doctor and helped me tremendously. He actually cares about his patients and it shows in the way that he listens, has helpful advice, does not rush you out the door and most importantly knows what medications will be the most beneficial. I can’t say enough great things about this doctor and his practice.

Attempted to make a appointment for the Dallas office and the Dr was booked a month out . So I call a few weeks after I make my appointment for the following month after going through hard times ...The secretary seemed like a robot. .Didnt care or ask what what was wrong and couldnt get me in sooner. They truely dont care . So if you want a office who doesnt care call them . this is a disgrace .

I was referred to Solace Counseling in Plano by my previous Addiction Specialist Psychiatrist.I had done all the research possible. All the support groups public and private, and I asked Dr. Patel a few questions and he asked me more and I knew right then he knew the science of dependency and how to safely get off when my body was ready. After all, I do have a complex case with some autoimmune problems of my own.He stuck by me through the thick and the thin. Now that Im finally getting relatively healthy, we are finally on the road of recovery.Hes understanding and patient. He knows more than anyone else I have met in the addiction field.I dont lie to him and I wont. As long as I stay honest with myself and my psychiatrist then recovery is 100% possible. Its a choice. Be honest and you will get there. Lie to him and he wont let you get away with it. Hence probably the bad reviews. So, as a patient and not afraid to admit that I have a problem that is being addressed with my complete cooperation. Then I am 100% certain that in time we will beat this darn thing so help me God.Hes a great psychiatrist. No good patients are going to write a good review. Only the ones that are slippery will.Treatment is a choice and so is a cure. As a singer/songwriter/Producer/Engineer, I tell you to go ahead and start now. Dont waste your lives away. Dont wait another day. Start now if your body is healthy enough to start.Dont be scared and everything will be alright.P.S. For your benzodiazepine dependents. This man knows his stuff. I strongly suggest you start your recovery now.Good vibes to all :-)

Dr. Patel will help as long as its what he wants to d< but as soon as it comes to him listening to his patient about whats actually going on in his/her body or brain he turns a blind eye. Also im usually not the type to go this far but he has also made stereotypical remarks as jokes to me about my race, also let me point out when he was doing this I was at rock bottom and had no response. Now that Ive been sober for a good time now he hasnt said anything like that because he knows i would be aware of it and call him out on it. As for the rest of Solace its a great environment and Program, I could really just do without him.

Ive only had the pleasure of being a patient at Solace for 6 days, today, and would just like to say to anyone out there that wants help with addiction to reach out to the compassionate, caring people at Solace Counseling. The 1st person I met with was Bobbie Allen, my admissions counselor. She is truly an angel in disguise! She was so compassionate, but with tough love as well, but seemed to know right away how to talk to me. And believe me, I was a mess that 1st day. I was so frustrated by the time I got to Solace, after being turned away from, ......., (I dont know if I should mention the name of the facility), and sent to another one that didnt even do opiate detox, that I was ready to go use drugs. But Miss Bobbie assured me that they could help me & I knew in my heart she was right. Its like when you feel a connection with someone that you know is sincere and not just bullshitting you, I felt that with her. She was very efficient in getting all the info she needed from me & writing down what else was required that i didnt have with me. She went above and beyond the call of duty of just doing the admission process with me by listening to me, and not stopping me to just finish the paperwork, as i was a mess & really needed someone to talk to right then. She is a great asset to this wonderful place & I truly believe a lot of people would just walk out before the admission process was finished, me being one of them, if she hadnt been there for me. It takes a very special person to have the love, compassion, empathy and warmth in their hearts like Miss Bobbie, to deal with all the people that come into her office everyday. You can see it in her eyes. I know Im older than her but wish I wouldve had a mom like her.I have been to several rehab facilities over the past 6 years and I never felt that I could, would, or did get the treatment I need. I personally think the big difference, in my case anyway, is that the people at Solace treat you as a person, not a number. Its a very close, personal, environment that makes me feel at ease and even excited to go every day. From the receptionist, admission personnel, counselors, doctor, nurses, and the efficient office personnel behind the scenes, I feel like they really care about each person that walks through their doors. Im on my way to a drug free life and know i can count on them to help me achieve my goal. All I had to do was surrender. It feels great for the 1st time in over 10 years to know I have found the help Ive wanted & needed. All i had to do was ask.You guys are all Angels in my eyes!!!With My Deepest Heartfelt Sincerity,Thank you ALL!!!AND KEEP COMING BACKT. A. 03/03/16

I have been with Dr Patel since the beginning off of Maple. I have experience with no insurance not private pay detox back when we got packets of pills to cover our ills. I have experience with private pay Psychiatric care. I have gone from detox at medical city n that room with rows of chairs to methadone detox in the cliff and I’ll tell you what! If you know your issues are Dual diagnosis related Dr. D Patel is your guy. I saw someone say they are rude! Junkies ADHD can’t act right sit still always talk gotta move never fit in and when we do we stay put because safe is patel quiet patel home patel bipolar and money, scheduling cancelations, prima donna men and crying drug seekers these are the people they deal with. Drug seekers detoxing and complaining because at 41 I’m still 16 in places but Dr P calls me out. Bobby helped me with funding and the waiting room at detox is a who’s who of dallas’s Bad turn bunch! My people! Dr P drug tests won’t give you what you want but you’ll get started towards what you need. The Doc and this place are for real trying to help from a clinical perspective! Not your friends not here to kiss bobo! Pay attention pay on time be real and get a fraction of what it takes to stay clean, solace can’t fix you no one can but you. These people put in the work! Meet them half way n pass them by! Goal is to use them to get better tools! You can always hit the block when the mean lady say you no get Narco for back pain while in detox. Whaaaa!!! The methadone clinic is in the cliff this the North or this is medical district adjacent either way you aren’t getting away with laissez-faire attitude towards recovery you can waste their time and your money if you gonna fight hit the block catch a number down In them jumpers that place leaves the light on for you. Dr Patel is a damn good doctor hes a very blunt person but......the damn customer service is horrible man Ive been trying to call for I dont know how many months to get in contact with somebody but they never answer nor do they return your call, that pisses me off hell I literally had to go up there without speaking to anyone because they didnt answer the phone or return my calls. When you do go there it will only be like 1 2 3 or nobody in the waiting room and I can hear the phone ringing but guess what? Nobody answers it they just sit there. Dr Patel GREAT doctor but either hire a new receptionists or start answering and returning your patients calls to your direct number.

Dr. Patel is very smart. Unfortunately that is the only good thing I can say about this place. The negatives are:1. They almost never answer the phone- having called around 10 times, only once have they actually answered.2. The staff and the location are quite cold, distant, and impersonal.3. This takes me to my interactions with Dr. Patel. Although he seems very knowledgeable, he expressed very little curiosity about my situation, and asked very few questions before immediately writing a prescription. On my second visit, I expressed some questions and tried to open up about some of the things that have resulted from my ADHD. He listened courteously enough but was again incurious, brief, and seemingly uninterested in digging even a little beyond the surface. If I had been looking for a pharmacist with a Ph.D, then this would have sufficed. I was looking for treatment that went beyond pills, but my experience says this was not something they were interested in or able to offer.

Ms. Bobbie I feel is the heart of the organization. She helped me with that first and hardest step. I sat in that waiting room with other sick clients waiting to be seen. She saw us all in a timely manner and made sure we all got seen before her breaks. She was our encouragement and hope. She is the beat thing your organization has going for it. Not only an awesome intake specialist but a ray of hope to each person walking through that door. And Denise made sure we went in the right direction so we could get to Bobbie. They both walked into the waiting room to make sure each of us was on the right step and headed in thr right direction. I juat thought someone should know you have a living breathing Angel in your employment and her name in Bobbie. Thank each of you in your steps you take all of you in working so diligently to get people like me clean and sober. Your program is the BEST in Dallas. The most comfortable, non -judgemental, well organized program in town. Dr. Patel is a great leader. Even the security guard does his part. It feels like family. I cant say enough. Thank each of you and GOD bless. Keep up the great work. KAREN JENNINGS
