Way Above Excellent! If the staff, nurses and doctors could care any more I wouldnt believe. They made me feel like I belonged there. Not only were they concerned about the care they provided me, as far as when they had the time to chat, they were excellent to chat with. Housekeeping really cares about the cleanliness of a patients room quite well, food services is on top of making sure you eat dinner, and the nursing staff is on top on making sure your health services and other necessary services are provided as they can be providing another emergency prevents them from doing so. I would highly recommend this place to anyone needing health care to consider and go to if possible. You will not be wrong!

I must say that the valet service here is impeccable. Fast and courteous. Keep up the great work. I have also had a great experience with the hospital staff as well. Needed my medical records for continuity of care and I actually got my records in a timely fashion and in digital format. (EPIC EMR) in print format can waste an entire forest. Being a patient can be very stressful but overall Zale Lipshy is doing a great job.

I cannot express my gratitude enough for the great doctors and nursing staff at this hospital. I spent a week on the fifth floor of the hospital (Neurosurgery). Everyone, and I mean everyone, delivered top notch medical care. Other hospitals need to emulate this place. Ill be eternally grateful for the care I received here. I believe it helped save my life!

This was my third time in patient, my first time here at Zale. This place is absolutely AMAZING with the most caring staff you could imagine. The unit is so clean and has tons of beautiful natural light and plenty of things to do throughout the day. The doctors are top of the line and absolutely understand what the patient is going through. I had a wound that needed constant attention and the wound nurses on staff were incredible. I would recommend this unit to anyone in need of psychiatric assistance.

I was here twice for psychiatric help. The unit is clean, the food is good, and they only allow in non-violent people. You see a psychiatrist every day and have both nurses and techs available to you 24 hours a day. There are also social workers and a peer support specialist. There are only 2 groups a day which can mean there is a lot of boredom. Sometimes it seems like we were babysat by the TV. Definitely still the best place Ive been for psychiatric care and I never met a patient who said they went somewhere better. I still wish there was more to do because boredom here made a lot of people anxious.

My wife is being well taken care of by UT southwestern! Cafe shuts down early as you will read. And you must do the valet. Its not bad. Little packed at certain times but I have no complaints. I recommend you buy the valet pack ($20) comes with 5 valet passes. But that is a minor thing. My wife being taken care of, is more Important then complaining about things. Were here for treatment and help. And we are getting it 24/7. And the staff have also shown concern for my health as well. I recommend coming here to Zale Lipshy. Doctors, nurses, patient techs, everyone works together as a team.

First rate service for my daughter from surgeon to housekeeping. Cafeteria could be open on weekends. Could not have asked for better care. Nursing staff are fantastic. Patient Techs are wonderful. Phlebotomists even great. Food service fantastic for patients. I see why this hospital is highly rated.Could put some kind of cigarette can out. People smoke regardless of policy especially when a loved one is in hospital. Reminds me of abstinence only sex ed.

My sister had major spine surgery 2 weeks ago. Our family is beyond grateful to every person who worked to bring her back to health. From the doctors, surgeons, nurses, cleaners, food service, chaplains, valets, greeters--every person there. She felt cared for--we felt cared for. Its everything and we so appreciate you. Janice Smith p.s. I spent the day there and actually had a great time. Yeah rehab--we exercised, decorated cookies, worked puzzles, and chatted with every staff member there.

Hospital staff/ facilities are excellent. However, the valet experience when checking out was absolutely ridiculous and unfortunately that cancelled out the excellent experience at Zale. It’s not very fun when you step out of the hospital, start looking for your valet ticket when you’re 20 feet away from the valet stand (and not actually standing in line), and the lady at the valet stand literally shouts at you to see if you’re ready to check out (couldn’t see her name tag, but it was an older black lady). She was actually visibly getting upset when we were still finding our ticket (we’re still 20 feet away from her, mind you) and when we finally found our ticket, she definitely let us know how her yelling at us was our fault because she “didn’t know if we were ready or not”....

This hospital has been a huge let down. Im currently here and sicker than I have ever been. If you are needing any Neuro diagnostic procedures or care during the process, this is not the place to go. They may have fantastic diagnostic equipment, but that means nothing when you are getting mistreated and sub par care from your doctor and nursing team. Your concerns will not be heard and you will not be a part of the decision making process in your care. If you are not a cookie cutter case, all of your concerns and symptoms will be disqualified. Dr. Walker is my doctor and it truly feels as though she takes pride in doing the exact opposite of patients requests, with a different story as to why each time. Im devastated that my health has crashed like this and that Im stuck in this place just to be able to get testing, but my health further deteriorating just to get it. My life for the last 2 months has been hell and I was so looking forward to this being the answer and care I needed.Avoid at all costs if you are in need of a diagnosis.

We arrived at 7:30. the appointment was at 8:30--- we were told to arrive one hour early. They did not call us until after nine. The parking valet workers were not working. They were talking with each other. There were at least seven cars waiting to drive up to valet and there were three of us waiting for valet to bring our cars to us. This is a hospital, where people are ill with cancer. We all have appointments afterwards. I read the mission for this hospital and part of that mission is excellence of service to their patients. The entire experience at Zale Lipshy hospital was far below poor. Sad, very sad.

Actual experience within Zale was great. Staff was helpful and informative. Trying to pick someone up and having to deal with valet was excruciating. They are rude and don’t follow their own posted signs. Was harassed and made to feel less then because I was not using valet for a pickup! Not my fault or anyone else’s that drop off/pick up share space with valet. Unfortunately the manager nor her valet team share the same call to excellence or compassion as the rest of UTSW staff.

Each time we are there, everyone treats us so well. This time was great with most everything until my spouse got to PACU. I had her dentures, she was asking for me, so 30 minutes after the doctor (love him) came to talk to me, i had to go ask to see her because EVERY time she has surgery, she wants her teeth immediately bacause she is young. Due to the fact that we are married, and the patient coming out of anesthesia and hurting kept asking me to hold her hand, i felt the mood change with the RNs in PACU. Rather cold, dismissive and although she was being transferred from a HIGHER acuity or care, to a LOWER scuity, in preparation for discharge, the pre/post area, where monitoring is a blood pressure cuff & pulse ox, she was ready to be handed over to my care. When he was calling report, i was forced back into the waiting room for 15 minutes so they could get her settled in???? With a B/P cuff and pulse OX, and this was AFTER i helped with turning her and repositioning her in PACU, before moving her to step down unit of LOWER ACUITY. The patient and i asked twice why i couldnt walk back to preop with her. IF you are SO determined that family not walk with a patient who has requested to, SOMEONE COULD HAVE ESCORTED ME through the out door to the preop door in the SAME waiting room and had me wait in her post op stepdown room. Any time report is called, THERE IS a bed assignment. THAT would have been the right way to handle that, have the family meet the patient. Those two in the PACU probably DO need to stay somewhere the patients are asleep. They were dismissive and arrogant, and BEHAVED in a discriminatory and disgusted manner.Of note: while this was going on, i called and asked to speak to an administrator, 3 times. I was told on my FIRST call that someone would call me right back. I asked both other times, once i was told nobody was available the rest of the day, and ANOTHER time i was told the person answering the phone, the Executive Assistant didnt know who to call for anything, REALLY??? You answer the phone and have NO numbers. That was a flat out lie. The Administration is unresponsive and out of touch. For this reason and the two PACU RNS i give it a one. This is a better place, but to have SUCH an unresponsive administration and feel discriminated towards in the initial PACU, based on 26 yrs together MARRIED same sex couple, that is INEXCUSABLE. I feel administration owes us an apology ( which we wont get), & someone to reach out and apologize. Maybe once i notify the correct agencies, and you get comments and honest feedback on Press-Ganey, someone will finally listen.ALL OF THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED, HAD ANY MANAGER OR ADMINISTRATOR BOTHERED TO CALL BACK. Obviously you dont care.DFW PEOPLE, GO TO ONE OF THE OTHER FINE HOSPITALS IN THE METROPLEX, the staff is great, but if you have any tiny problem and need anyone in administration, you might as well forget it.

I had my significant other stay here post-stroke and i was completely blown away by their services, accommodation, program offerings, state of the art equipment and staff. In neuro/stroke recovery, TIMING IS OF THE ESSENCE and that is why I am writing this review. If you are looking for inpatient care for acute neuro/stroke sufferers, you should really consider getting you or your loved ones here asap!! This is the first hospital I have ever been to where you can tell that every employee is both super- educated, experienced and also passionate about their role assisting patients achieve their best outcomes.Although I was impressed by my entire experience with this hospital, I spent the most time among the staff in administration as well as the rehab staff on floors 6 and 8. I found zero duds, slackers etc at this hospital from valet attendants, Euneca at the front desk to Miss Leslie in Administration.I was SUPER- impressed by Kate in physical therapy and (Leeann? from Seattle) in speech therapy. They were infinitely knowledgeable , passionate and experienced. It was surprising to see the director /program manager Tim, come in to greet my fiance and ask if there was anything he could do to improve his stay!Other amazing employees included Nurse Manager, Cynthia Hill. I was SUPER- IMPRESSED by the completely patient-centered administration and the rehab staff working on the 6th and 8th floor. If you or a loved-one are seeking the gold standard in post-stroke/ neuro -rehab and recovery, you SHOULD GO DIRECTLY TO ZALE LIPSHY TO ACHIEVE YOUR ULTIMATE OUTCOME!!!

My mom was at UTSW Clements for 2 months and it was spectacular. It was like staying at a 5* resort! We were transferred to Zale Lipshy and our stay here has been nothing but miserable! The nurses are horrendous! Lazy! They have bad attitudes, they say theyll bring your medicine, bring you water, take you to the bathroom, etc...and they NEVER come! They roll their eyes if you have questions and God forbid you need something, they act like youre annoying and inconvenient. They have a complete lack of compassion! We even had a nurse tell us she works at Zale and not Clements because Clements would make her exhausted with how much shed have to do. If I hadnt stayed with my mom and taken care of her, no one wouldve taken care of her. There were maybe 1 or 2 nurses that were fair but the rest were just plain awful. And dont get me started on the charge nurse. I dont even know how she got the position. She didnt want to do one thing. She was the worst of them all! Her vocabulary was that of a 3rd grader. How did she get through college? The PACU unit was great and so were her doctors that performed her procedure...but other than them...the rest of this place is terrible. Its dirty. Its inconvenient. You have to use valet...so if you have to get your car after 10pm, youre out of luck. The cafeteria/diner is hardly ever open. So family doesnt get to eat. I am very disappointed and cant believe that Zale Lipshy is part of UTSW after having come from UTSW Clements. If my mom had been healthy enough...we would have left and gone somewhere else! I wouldnt bring my dog here!

What an incredible experience we had at Zale Lipschy University Hospital. My wife recently underwent jaw surgery at Zale Lipschy and the entire staff was incredibly hospitable throughout the day. From the Patient Champion to pre-and post-op staff, from Dr. Zuniga and his staff to the receptionist, every person was incredible nice and helpful. We were blown away that the staff constantly updated me on the progress of the surgery and were so helpful with my wife during each phase of the operation. We simply couldnt believe the attention the staff paid to us, even with respect to a relatively minor surgery.A sincere thank you to the Zale Lipschy Staff. I was treated in this hospital for several weeks in 2001/2002. I had acute pancreatitis, and became a teaching aid for gastroenterology students because of the biggest pancreatic pseudocyst they had ever seen. I think thats why they put me in a private suite, which I think is the same one where Tom Landry stayed in his last days. I can honestly say they treated me like royalty. At the time I had an amazing insurance policy that paid every penny of the over $100k bill, and when it went over $100k the finance director showed up in my room (scared the bejeezus out of me) to present me with a Very Important Patient folder with my own personalized menu. I even had a private rack in the fridge, all the jello I could eat. LOL! But honestly, it is the very best hospital in which I have ever had to stay, bar none.
