Finding a counselor to help us as we navigate these Big T and Little T traumas our adoptive children face has been such a blessing to us. We use the same vocabulary because she understands the Empowered to Connect parenting tool box. Over the past 3 years Gretchen has been a supportive parent coach and counseled each of my daughters through their hard places. Her willingness to do play therapy techniques with teens (like Karyn Purvis recommends) was refreshing. If you are looking for a counselor who understands the unique challenges that adoptive families deal with daily, look no further.

Gretchen has been my therapist for almost 5 years now, and she is fantastic. I have made significant progress in managing stress, anxiety, and depression. She continues to guide me and encourage me in being mindful in all aspects of my life, both professional and personal. She is an excellent therapist, and I am so thankful to have her in my life. I would recommend her and DM psychotherapy group to anyone.

I have been meeting with Denette for a little over 2 years now and I dont have any complaints. I definitely feel that I am made a priority by her and she is always there to help me with whatever I may need. I was actually referred here by a friend and I would also refer any friends here myself. Also, if you love animals or specifically dogs, Denette will sometimes have one or both of her two dogs with her which I think makes things even better.

Due to laws regarding slander and libel, I have to be very careful about my review. Fact: I submitted a complaint with HIPAA, but have not been told yet if there was a violation or not. Fact: I have requested in writing (via email) for all my sons medical records to be released to me, but have yet to receive them. Fact: I was toldthat someone would be in touch to respond to my complaints, but all i receieved was a letter stating they did not believe they violated HIPAA and neither did their lawyers. All in all, my opinion (opinions do not constitute slander or libel) is that there seems to be a devaluing of the role of a father at this practice. I also think (another opinion) there are questionable ethical practices in regards to employees. I am not an expert, but I would never recommend them due to my thoughts, experiences, and opinions. I do plan to look further into my options.
