This is the absolute most helpful place Ive ever been to. The counselors are awesome and helpful, BUT the ladies answering the phone are the best! I have been having major issues with my landlord about my ESA paperwork. These ladies have gone above and beyond for me and mine. I am so grateful for them, because without them I would not be able to have my dog back.

Im not sure why there are so many bad reviews but my experience with my counselor has been great. Ive been seeing Vanessa Kadado for my severe anxiety issues for a couple of months now and shes been very helpful and understanding. She listens and provides helpful feedback and also understands how anxiety feels which is nice because most therapists Ive gone to seemed clueless to what I was going through. Shes friendly, always on top of scheduling, and makes the sessions fun. I already feel much better than when I started and am happy with the treatment Ive received so far.

Ive been seeing Madeleine Burgess for just over a year now and I simply cannot say enough good things about her. I have always felt empowered and supported, but that doesnt mean I havent been challenged to evaluate myself and find growth and happiness. I do not know how I could have managed this far in my transition without her hard work and compassion, which I know is a result of the support she gets from the people who manage things at that office. In all my interactions with support staff I have been treated with professional attitudes and genuine kindness. Big thank you to all those in charge for making this place a safe space for Trans folks!

They are not honest or proactive in their communication up front. I booked an appointment with a therapist only to find out she’s leaving in a month. They should have told me this before making an appointment with her. I was then told later everyone else was booked in that office a day after the receptionist told me there were openings. I had a friend try to schedule an appointment with the so called booked therapists and they had openings. Just be honest and proactive with your patients. I’ve spent thousands on therapists in the last 10 years and have never experienced this. This is my first time trying to go with someone in network in my insurance and will definitely be my last. 140$ totally wasted, thank you!

I found this place on google when I was trying to find some individual and couples counseling. I have a couple of issues.I saw a therapist who was 10 min late starting our session (also late ending it, so I did get the full hour. I just personally prefer promptness).I was quoted insurance coverage with a $50 copay. I paid this at the time of my visit. 1 week later I got an email that I was misquoted and now owe $118.72. However, if I continue to go there it’ll be $140/session. Why is my first session $168.72 and my subsequents are $140? Luckily for me I didn’t pre-schedule another, so I don’t have to deal with the cancellation policy. My therapist may have been on her phone during our session. I could be wrong about this and don’t like to place blame unfairly, but here’s why I think this: her attention was in her lap most of the time, and at the end of our hour she pulled her cellphone out of her lap and put it to the side. I did not visualize her using her cellphone, I am just assuming given what I did see. Even if she wasn’t, I think a therapist’s full attention (eyes included) should be on the patient during a very expensive therapy session.Lastly, the therapist did not respect my goals. She insisted I change my goals at the end of our session. I am looking for a therapist to respect my personal goals and help me to attain them in the healthiest way possible.I understand that all of these things are my personal opinions for how my experience was not good based on my personal priorities. Take it for what it’s worth. I would’ve loved a heads up about the way my therapist handles her sessions before I saw her, so maybe this will help someone else.

They offer a sliding scale (rates start at $60) which was a huge relief to me, being self pay.The staff and the atmosphere are incredible. They also offer evening (and I think Saturday?) appointments to those who have a busy schedule.Megan has been, objectively, a very wonderful and insightful therapist. She truly takes time to connect with the individual; its a huge sigh of relief after years of hitting a brick wall with overpriced, cut and dry, jaded, meh therapists.

Don’t come here for an ESA letter. They will STEAL your money and tell you you’re not eligible “in their clinical opinion”. My PCP had to refer me here specifically for an ESA due to my anxiety/depression history, because they are not common in my area. My doctor knows I am eligible and Alexis completely set me back and downplayed my condition like I’m not actually dealing with a real emotional disability. Completely unprofessional and a waste of money. I was planning to continue therapy with Alexis after my evaluation was done but after this experience, I will never come here again.

I have recently began another rough patch in my life and decided to return to counsling because in the past it has help me tremendously. Through my insurance received several referrals and decided to go with this place since I was initially interested in Telehealth and they have this option. I inquired via email and received a response from Kaitlyn she reviewed my benefits with me etc. offered a appointment and we scheduled a appointment three weeks out! Fast forward to the day of my appointment I arrived since I chose the counselor I wanted to see based on there speciality I recognized when my counselor walked in. During this time I was reading reviews since not once did anyone acknowledge my presence or greet me especially it being my first visit. Then I seen her (My expected counselor) grab someone else sitting in the waiting area. So I was taken by surprised having arrived about 20 minutes prior to my visit that it would not be a 20 minute visit with the other gal. At this point it is 5 past my initial appointment time I have now been siting in the lobby for almost 30 minutes. I asked the receptionist to ensure everything was still okay since I was a bit confused she was not ready for me at this point. Amber the receptionist went on to say that I never scheduled a appointment because I never responded to the email I went into my email and showed her my response. Her response then was Let me speak to my supervisor to see what we can do. A few minutes later she comes back and said again I can show you my screen I never got your email I explained I would not take a day off work or remember a appointment three weeks and go through the whole process of insurance verification of benefit to not schedule, taking a day off and showing up!!!!! I explained she offered me several appointments and the only one that worked was this one which is what I scheduled for. Amber was not apologetic one bit when I tell you this brings me to tears it did at this point. Being a young mother of two this was my cry for help when I know I needed this I went to look for it only to be faced with unsympathetic people who made the mistake of not scheduling my appointment something so SIMPLE. In the end the only person who will have to pay for this is me now I have to find another place to go to because I can no longer trust that I can come here and feel welcomed after my first bad experience the supervisor did not come out once nor did I see his/her face. After reading the reviews it is very unfortunate this place is going to go down hill because your scheduling coordinator do not understand mental health is REAL. PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE READ ALL THE REVIEWS!!!!!! I HAVE A EMAIL SHOWING I RESPONDED I SHOWED HER THAT AND SHE HAD NOTHING TO SAY!!!!!!

I have been a client at DCTC for just over one year (so far), attending on a weekly basis. I have attended counseling elsewhere in the past, and happen to hold an M.A. in Counseling in addition to pursuing licensure myself. I thus say that my expectations have been far exceeded. My counselor has proven to be well up to the task of helping me wade through the many issues for which I need assistance. She has allowed me to do the heavy lifting on my own, but has also been a helpful helper. DCTC is such a place that I almost wish I had not started seeing a counselor here so that I could apply to serve my internship here instead. If you are considering seeking therapy for anything at all, DCTC should absolutely be a serious contender for your business.

Extremely disappointed, couldn’t make appointment due to schedule being filled; however their interns are available but insurance does not cover interns. They offered referrals but the point of it all is this a service you offer very frustrating.

Melissa mcLemore will talk about your discussions. Making fun of them and ridiculing them on her personal Facebook page ( I have screen shots). She’s the exact reason people do not get help. After I asked her about it, she blocked me. So, hopefully she learned her lesson, but I don’t see how anyone in the metal health industry could make fun of ANYONE LOOKING FOR HELP!!! If you’re looking for help, look elsewhere, bc obvueveryone is a funny, joke, FB post to her.

Very poor scheduling and client communication practices. Been bringing my daughter for over a year and a half and there have been multiple missed appointments with bad communications. Have been told therapist sick and no one can cover and next available is in weeks, that new door entry system and therapists could get into office (2x), they accidententally cancelled the appointment and even though we were there, no one was available, the list goes on. After a while it doesnt matter if you like the therapist - the front office makes it a nightmare.
