Everything depends on who you get as your masseuse, for the first time I had a male masseuse and I actually enjoyed it because he was much less talkative.

Kyle is by far the best! Hes the reason that I keep coming back. Hes kind, attentive and a true professional. He obviously cares deeply about his clients and I honestly consider him to be a friend! A true asset to the organization!

I had a massage at this location a week ago and wow! Kyle V. did a wonderful job. He was kind and attentive to my every need. He made my experience so unique. Afterwards I felt great! Thank you and keep up the good work!

Best place ever to relax yourself!

I have never posted a review before, nor did I want to but after my experience here, I felt like it was needed. I have read other reviews and there are mostly about how unprofessional the front staff and manager are.The manager Jess is never available and the front staff always just repeats, “ I don’t know I will have to ask my manager and she’ll get back to you within a couple days.”She never calls back and the front staff never knows how to resolve an issue. I am canceling my membership and never coming to this location again.I recommend the Farmington and west Hartford location. They are better with communication and much more professional overall (front staff and management) . Massage envy is a great franchise, just not the one at Cromwell!

I have been a member for over two years and have never had an issue with any staff or services. Kyle is my most recent massage therapist and does wonderful! Can’t wait for my next one!!

This review is specific to todays date and is not necessarily reflective of any of my other visits to the Cromwell Massage Envy. This morning, I scheduled an appointment for 3:45PM with a therapist, C. I checked in - via text - prior to 3:30PM and then, after entering to use the lavatory, waited in the lobby. In short, I arrived very early. To make a long story short, I was still waiting in the lobby at 3:55PM. I made the Lead, J, aware of my dissatisfaction. When C finally took me in, I found that the heat was on (on the table). C said that someone must have turned it on, and that it would cool down after a little while. I told her that that was unacceptable as it is in my profile that I cannot deal with the heat and that I always remind the person at the desk of this when I schedule an appointment. I walked out to the lobby and conveyed to J that it was too much, to cancel my appointment, and to not charge / penalize me. J agreed and, per my request, sent me a confirmation email.

A year ago I bought a membership for $65 a month for 12 months. That amount has been taken out of my Account for 12 months. I spoke to someone in the Cromwell office today and informed her that I was told by their staff to call back before January 16 to cancel my yearly membership if I didn’t wanna renew.She informed me that I would most likely be charge for January because it would take up to 10 days to Process the fact that I don’t want to renew a year contract. How ludicrous does that sound? I am waiting to hear back from a manager, probably the same manager that the reviews up above claims she’ll call back and never does. I have contacted my credit card company and let them know that they don’t have permission to take the January payment out let’s see what happens.At present time I have nine massages that I have not been able to take because of my busy work schedule and school let’s see how this pans out.I Would like to add the few massages I have gotten the massage therapist were good.

I went in today with a flare-up in my frozen shoulder. I got a appointment quickly with mj. The location was clean and staff was very friendly. I had seen other reviews stating they use strong sales tactics. I did not find that true. They did let me know about the services they offer. But not pushy at all. Mj was amazing with what she did. She focused on my shoulders to ease the pain. I left feeling better than I have in a long time. I am very greatful for what she did on short notice .

Great massage, Relaxing Atmosphere, Good deals!

I had my first visit today and had a great experience! I admittedly was reluctant to come here because of reviews I had seen about other ME locations but I was pleasantly surprised. The owner was working at the front desk, greeted me with a smile and then sat down with me to ask all sorts of question so that they could customize my massage. Jessica was my massage therapist and she was professional and listened well. The space was clean and relaxing. The membership packages are very affordable as well.

Had an excellent first time here, clean facilities and a great staff. Was hit with a $150 charge for an appointment I never booked a month later. No luck trying to reason with the staff on this one.

Excellent place to feel relaxed and reconnected with your self. The staff are very pleasant and make you feel so welcomed. From greeting to sitting in the zen waiting area to receiving the massage and learning from the massage therapist style or unique technique, to enjoying the environment in the massage room to the music and lighting will help you find comfort and total relaxation. I highly recommend trying it just at least once and youll discover a whole new feeling and whole new you.

Melina did a superb job with my customized facial. I was a little pressed for time but she made sure to provide me with a very relaxing facial and Décolleté massage.

Massage Envy gets a lot of mixed reviews but I generally have success here. While I generally pick a mesus that I have used before it is nice to have other options that fit my schedule. The place is always clean and I have found the receptionist to be nice.

The staff is always professional and kind, and they have some really talented Massage Therapists. I recently met the owner and she worked with me to solve an issue I had with the membership, and I left impressed. I give this Massage Envy 5 stars.

Clean environment, friendly staff. I’ve had mostly great massages here, a few were mediocre but therapists encourage feedback to improve your experience so that’s good. I can’t give 4 or 5 stars though because as a member I get regular messages here, either - 1 or 2 times a month and it’s difficult to keep the same therapist because there seems to be a revolving door here for therapists. If you want to find a good one you like and develop a rapor for an extended period of time this is not the place!!!

I went into the Cromwell location because its closer to my house. The staff were very friendly and massage therapist was amazing. Her name was Madelyn and she only work the week days. I gave them a 4 before she finished seven minutes before my end time and I could have used them. Also, the massage oils werent warm, not even a little. I usually go to the Casino because they have a sauna, jacuzzi etc. And they use hot oils. What better way to get a massage than with hot oils. I will recommend on my next visit.

Nobody here is really good at deep tissue massage. Nice enough people, always friendly, just not very effective for those that like deep tissue work.

I am very happy I decided to join the monthly program, as having the flexibility to come and go with my schedule is super convenient. I have not had a bad experience here to speak of!

Each Massage Envy is a franchise. This store has a serious issue with high pressure sales tactics and making charges for services that aren’t performed. I filed several complaints with the BBB and the owner never responded. Poor business acumen.

I have been a member for about 18 months and have had a positive experience each time I have come in. Although I have not tried to cancel, I have always found the staff to be courteous and accommodating. I love the decor and calmness of the waiting area and the massage rooms, and the ease of making an appointment. Although, I wish there was an online appointment system! Thatd be great!

Loved it. Everyone was on their game. Clean, great environment, excellent staff. There was a feeling things were a little disorganized at the front desk but nothing major. The message portion was top notch.

I had bought my husband a 50 dollar gift card for a message and they have given him a hard time to schedule an appointment. Though they stated they except walk-in but everytime he has tried they asked him for his credit card which they shouldnt even ask for because its already paid for by me. Sketchy..

The girls who work/run the place are dishonest - the establishment claims once you are in contract (which is nearly impossible to cancel), you have to go in person to cancel, you must speak with the manager - who is NEVER there (despite being told on multiple occasions exactly when she would be there however once I got there to speak with her she was out)... with a written letter - a month before your contract renews. I called them before going up there to get their directives on cancelling and was told to come in person. I drove 30 minutes to get there just to be handed an 800 number to cancel! I asked the girl why she didnt tell me that on the phone when I JUST CALLED before driving an hour round trip for this! She literally gave me the hand and said thats how we do it now. Real classy lady. The manager is never there, they trap you in a contract which you cannot get a clear answer on how to get out of and the people working there have the knowledge and personality of a gnat. And on a side note - every other Massage Envy has a manager on duty at all times - my opinion is there IS a manager at the Cromwell store however they LIE regarding who she is and when she will be in because that establishment is doing so poorly, they dont want anyone to cancel. So they make it so frustrating to deal with , that you give up and get suckered into another year. Horrible business practices and if they belonged to BBB you can be sure Id be stopping there next.

Nice facility and staff. Yes, they do the upsell for services, but its not a big deal. Staff is very friendly and therapists are excellent.

Cromwell facility is up to date and clean. Sandy was a fabulous masseuse.

If you are thinking of getting a membership to Massage Envy - DONT DO IT!!! Especially at the Cromwell location! I agree with the other bad reviews that are posted. The area manager Jessica does not call back and could care less about customer service. Even after you fulfill your 1 year contract, they scheme and scam and quote the contract in order to put your account into a status where you cant use your credits until you pay them even more. The Cromwell location and Massage Envys business practices are shady. You can get better service AND a more professional massage at many other local spas for the same price and WITHOUT the risk of losing hundreds of dollars with their shady contract. Dont believe their sales pitch!!

Good staff but they do end each massage early. A 60 minute massage is more like 48-50 mins.
