A family member was recently there for a short duration stay of 3 weeks for PT, OT and ST. The staff was very nice, and he was well attended to in spite of his severe handicap which renders him unable to walk or stand up. The food was good, and the staff tries very hard to make events to look forward to, like serving wine or cocktails, or popcorn or candy and movie nights, etc. Another good thing is that all the rooms are on the first floor, and all have windows that open to let in the fresh air if the patient desires. The decor in the rooms is a little dated, so I took a star off for that. Otherwise, I think this place is pretty good.

I have worked for Delmar Gardens for 21 years. Helping guide and care for seniors and their families is the number one reason that I love my job. Delmar Gardens as a company is supportive and encourages furthering their employees education and knowledge. Our Corp group of management has been together 20 years and we truly are a family.

My mom has been living at Delmar Gardens of Creve Coeur for almost a year now and I am so thankful. Their staff is attentive, great at communicating and helpful. I do not know what my family or mom would do without this facility.

My father has been a resident of Delmar Creve Coeur for several years. Although he still has decent mobility he has other medical issues which were difficult to manage without 24 hour assistance. This year has been difficult with COVID but I felt that we were updated with his care meetings and even had help from the staff with face timing. He was happy with the activities that were available prior to the virus and even had opportunities to go to the ball game prior to COVID. Having personally worked in various medical facilities over the past 20 years, I have been very pleased overall with Delmar and feel that he is well cared by all the staff and administration

This Facility is poorly managed and will not recommend this place to anyone. Some of the nurses up there do care, but there were quite a few who clearly don’t.There is no communication during this time of COVID where visitation is limited and when my grandmother is in hospice, communication is key. We would call up there and the nurse wouldn’t be available and we would ask for a call back. We would have to call back a few hours later and maybe we would get answers. Then the updates we would receive were vague or contradict what the other nurses would say. Also, the policies for visitation would change every day and there was no consistency on the matter. When she first went In we were told when it gets close to being time the family could be in the room with her. Then it changed to a couple to finally just one and the rest outside in the cold looking through a window. We were lied to about it being a government mandate, but yet other places had different policies. Even the hospital was allowing up to 4 people in her room before she was moved there. There was also a couple of times that while in their care they had lost personal property, luckily we found some of them. When asked where it was they would shrug it off like it didn’t matter. It would take several calls to supervisors to help locate the missing property. For a place with this price tag we expected better treatment and more compassion for someone who we are about to lose. We the family felt very disrespected at times like we were a bother to them. When all we wanted was to check up on a loved one in hospice since we couldn’t be there.

Communication at this skilled nursing facility was quite poor. During this period of Covid, when family is not allowed inside a nursing home, communication is our only way of knowing what is going on. We were not told BEFORE we dropped our mother off at this facility, that they were fighting a Covid outbreak. Why was this?? We were not told she had pulled out her PICC line. Why was this? We were not told that she was ready and waiting for a ride home after discharge. Why was this? Each time, we had to initiate phone conversations to find out this information. The phone works both ways, not just to the facility. We had very informative conversations with the social worker, but she was not easy to get hold of. She is only one person. We had some informative conversations with nurses, but they are busy people. When there is no way to see in a facility, how does a family know what is going on? Communication!

My wife was there for 3 years. She got excellent care. The manager came around all the time to make sure the caretakers were doing there job. Caught her many times when I visited helping the care workers with the patients. When my wife was put into hospice care for her last days, I saw 2 care workers crying because they really cared for her. I would recommend this place 100 per cent.

First off the three nicer photos are not of the facility. My wifes been here for over a year. Care has varied from excellent to poor depending on individuals. Shes not as persistent about her needs as I am. I visit 4-5 days a week. Most caregivers are pretty good, but there seems to be fewer of them than needed and the turnover is high. Manager too often seems to be doing jobs that should be delegated, but there doesnt seem to be any other supervisory staff. No quality measurements or improvement teams seem to exist.

Very easy and convenient access near olive Blvd and I270 located in Creve Coeur. It honestly offered my grandmother a wonderful stay in a m healthy and loving atmosphere. Its not like all the other corporate places. Very impressed.

This place was horrible. They acted like my dad was a bother. Had a meeting with head nurse on Thursday. Told her there was something not right about him. He was too hyped up on his parkinsons medication. And very constipated. She said He seems perfect, and walked away very irritated with me. When I arrived on Friday, he was not doing well. Doctor ordered more tests. (these tests never seemed to get done in previous weeks). It took us to call 911, they brushed him off and let him sit in his shirt filled with vomit. Ambulance came and they immediately gave him oxygen. My dad died the next day in the hospital. Sepsis- which could have been avoided if they would have run tests in the weeks leading up to this as they said they would. My dad would press his nurse help button, and they just wouldnt show up. I told my dad I was gonna get him out of there- wish we would have as soon as we knew they didnt care.

Rate of 4 is NOT what u get. Poor service and care overall. Nurse fine. But other lack of help bad. Smell of pee. Very disappointed. My son fell in bathroom around 1am today. Here. No one has checked him out yet. All ready had bulging disc. Now in more pain. Nothing done.Wont send anyone here again. Not a 4 star. To me.Delmar gardens south on 21,very good care. Go there.. maybe delmar at olive and 270 understaffing.???Cant cover everything they are to do. If that is case, then management problems. But there are problems. July 2018

The rude and know it all front desk person that answered my call knew exactly everything I was talking about and even though I asked to to get transfer she said The are going to tell you the same thing that I just did.
