Being a veteran, I went to St. Anthonys in Crown Point for an emergency issue when the local VA was closed. The emergency doctor recorded the information wrong, and sent it to the VA as a non emergency, and instead of as an emergency so the VA declined picking up the bill, St Anthonys thinks it should be my responsibility. The bill would of been paid if the emergency room doctor would have reported the correct information. I went to St anthonys, and signed an affidavit for a review of the facts, and re-submission of the bill to the VA. They can charge me what they want, and not settle for a reduced amount thru the government. They declined. Not a legitimate way to do business. I wont go back.

These bottom feeders operate out of the Franciscan Alliance Hospital which is a United network provider. The EMA are however not in network United providers when seen in the emergency room and bill outrageous out of network rates. A trip to the emergency room is rarely preceded by checking my in network providers list to be sure the doctor (whose name is not known at the time) is on the list. A nasty trap for the ill or injured when they are most vulnerable. 0/5 stars!!

Beware when you visit Franciscan Alliance in Indiana for emergency care.This company seems like they are trying to leech off money from emergency care patients.
