My whole family LOVES being apart of the Y family. I, myself, have been apart of the YMCA community since I was a child and now that I have a family of my own — I can share this amazing organization with all of them. My kids love the children’s care they provide while I workout. I personally love the wellness floor and all of the equipment they have to offer. I also love being able to go on a run outdoors and have plenty of area to run without busy traffic to worry about. I love every person who works at our Covington YMCA. They are all so polite, friendly and personable. They have a fantastic sports program as well! We love our Covington Family YMCA!!

I think that any business or organization is for the most part defined by its employees. Let’s face it these days most gyms and health clubs have the same equipment, hours, facilities and so forth. The YMCA folks smile and greet you everyday when you come in, they don’t look up from their phone and act like you are an imposition. If you have a question or concern about something they will give you an answer, if they don’t know, they will find out.The other thing that impresses me in the longevity of the employees, I have been a member of the Covington Y for, I think, 10 years and there are many employees that have been there since I first arrived. I think that it must be a good place to work and if so it must be a good place to visit.

I enjoy this Y.-The childcare staff are cool in the morning.This is the most important aspect of a gym. Johna and Grier stand out in the childcare area because they are extra attentive, and always greet my son by name when he comes in.-The front desk staff are cool; Kacie is really sweet. Engaging as it relates to coming to classes or general involvement. They get the job done. Grier she’s nice at the front desk. She’s always smiling and extra courteous. Lynn is cool and her granddaughter is a hoot. Others could be more courteous.- I love that there is always space to work out on the main gym floor no matter what time you go.-The facilities are kept clean all throughout the gym. All in all, this is the best fitness facility with childcare that I’ve experienced in the Conyers/Covington/Stone crest/ Stone Mountain area. This includes ALL of the LA Fitness facilities.- I don’t mind the 30 minute commute for the quality of facility.

We were members here for awhile. While I was there the gym was always clean and so were the bathrooms. The swim team was a great time and recommend it to anyone who wants to keep their children active during the summer.

This is a great place to exercise. The front desk staff is very friendly and welcoming. The instructors are knowledgeable at what they do and will help you achieve your fitness goals at your capability.

Nice place to workout at. Staff is okay, but they need to be nicer. None of them smile and one of the child care workers don’t need to work with kids. She had a bad attitude and I will never leave my child In there again if she’s working. I believe her name is Maddie.

Great facility. Friendly staff, good equipment, caters to all types of people of different ages, background, and level of fitness. Love going there and try to go several days a week. Nice to see children welcomed and cared for and the outreach to all age groups is fantastic!

As a Y member for 4 years, I appreciate the varied classes available to the different age groups. The welcoming smiles of the staff make it a pleasure to attend each day . In addition to the exercise programs, theres also the social aspect of attending. The senior members often enjoy organized luncheon outings , which are a nice addition to the schedule.

Clean facilities and helpful staff. Its not a large facility, but it keeps that intimate feel. The hours are convenient for people who work later as well. Its certainly more expensive than other gyms in the area, but they have a lot of classes and groups that you can join for different exercise. The equipment is fairly modern and well maintained. Highly recommended if youre looking for a place with lots of classes included or a smaller gym to join.

I have been a member of the Y family for 4 months now and its been a great experience. The group exercise class offerings are wonderful and seem to be constantly expanding. I need social interaction while I exercise for motivation and new friendships, and Ive gotten more than Id imagined in such a short time. Thank you for your service to and in our Covington community!

Looks like a nice place, but I was told over the phone I could come view the facility the next day because my family and I were interested in becoming members but when I get here I was told no because I wasnt a member and they werent accepting new members at moment. Maybe next time o well.

Only thing that keeps this from getting a 5 star are the COVID restrictions. Im saying yes even though I mean NO.

A well-run facility with competent, friendly, and knowledgeable program staff. I am relatively new to the area; the community at the Covington YMCA has been a warm and welcoming one. I would give this YMCA a strong recommendation.

I go to summer camp at the Y, and the counselors are very nice and helpful. But, the park benches are a little dirty and ruin good shorts and the parents wont be very happy. ☹️ But overall, its a good environment! ☺️

Not a welcoming place at all... the vibe is very snotty. Two workers sitting up front and neither said hi! welcome! And they are terribly slow. I was told to wait while she enters kids in from another parent because they had played before so it would be quick even though I walked up first. Well, one of the kids wasnt in the system so she had to enter everything and guess what, I still had to wait... Im going to go ahead and sign my son up because hes overly excited to play, but I seriously doubt well be back unless they get new staff. What a great first impression. Update****** 3 more people have come in while Im sitting here and guess who else got helped before me!!!!! All three!!!!!!

Friendly staff and a variety of classes lead by capable, helpful exercise leaders.

The soccer team players exhibited EXTREMELY poor sportsmanship conduct, cussing at and shoving opposing team players, threatening to assault them after a game. The YMCA director and coach did not manage their teen girls team, and the refs were giving obvious unfair calls. Parents shouting and loudly arguing with opposing team parents-completely outrageous!!! The facility has rotting wood, lack of fences and fields and nothing to offer for traveling families, such as concessions, an area for seating, or to place folding cars - beside the ledge of parked cars on a hill. NOT WORTH THE DRIVE to play this disrespectful league.

The heart of our community. They have the best people. Great place to work out and take a class, my kids all played their youth sports, pool is great, Cheerios Challenge, you could go on forever. Louly, Erin, Kacie and all the rest are amazing people who care about their members.

My boys love their soccer program and its a healthy sport but I would like for them to get a recognition so they can feel happy and excited for the next season. Like trophy for each player because they are all winners.

Swimming lessons at the YMCA was terrific! Kids do very well with instructors.

One of the smallest YMCA s I have ever seen but cost more than the much nicer ones near Atlanta. How does that work? Hmmmm.....

My gf brought her child to camp here for the summer. They told her one price, then raised the price. I mean they dont teach the children anything, as far as new skills. They only swim for an hour, and they dont even feed the children. Your child can learn how to play an instrument, or learn some other skill, for the price they charge. Not to mention, you cannot get your deposit back, if you decide to leave, which she is. The shadow games the people play is ridiculous, not to mention taking advantage of single moms. I will be letting everyone I talk to, who have children, know about this. Hope no one else gets these games played with them.

I am a lifetime member of the YMCA, and a member of the Covington YMCA since 2007. Contrary to some of the comments posted, I have never seen or experienced the behaviors stated; the staff has always been welcoming, professional, and friendly especially if you engage them in conversation and ask for their help. The front desk typically has two staff members posted, however there might be times when one of the staff is doing a tour and the front desk only has one person at the post. As a result, if they get busy during this time, you might have to wait until they can clear previous members or customers before waiting on you. It has happened to me before. The facility is always clean. orderly, and safe, and the locker room does not smell like Phys Ed as in the case of a great many gyms. My only criticism is that the maintenance and repair of the equipment could be more expedient. There have been times when Ive seen a treadmill or another piece of equipment out of service for more than a few days, but that could be due to not having an inventory of parts on hand.

My son has played soccer at this location for 7 years, but this year was the worst. We ended up getting Coach Brady. He is very weak. He doesnt teach his team how to be an actual team. There were three kids on our team that were ball hogs. There was a set of twins, Ben & Jack... And their best friend Hunter. They all passed the ball between the three of them, majority of the time. Brady NEVER stepped up to fix this problem. My son was so upset!!! Did Brady care? No! The parents voiced their concerns. Did Brady do anything? No! Brady would hide in the mantience room, when parents would walk by. The ones that he knew would speak up, if they ever had an issue. He ran from a lot of problems he created with the team, instead of fixing the issues at hand. I called the YMCA Atlanta corporate office, I spoke with the sports director at the Covington office, Jeanette, and the office manager, Louly Haycap. They both, Jeanette and Louly, dismissed all of the parents feelings and concerns. They even witnessed watching a game, and seen how these three kids played, but refused to admit that they were playing unfairly. There was even a parent that got so emotional and cried, when talking to my son, because he wanted to quit the team. She asked him not to give up, but she knew how awful the kids treated the other kids, by not allowing them to have the chance to play. Her son got hurt on the field. He had his breath knocked out of him. Brady showed no signs of sympathy or concern towards this child. I would NEVER recommend this organization to ANYONE! They are unorganized and jack their prices up all the time. Ive been signing my son up with RYSA. They are a much better organization to deal with!!

Worked here as a tech shortly (no use of facility) and it feels like a family owned gym. So sweet, and the residents are extremely friendly.
