Horrible doctor. Doesn’t listen to what you say and treats you as if you are stupid. Huge waste of time and he rushed through everything while giving me inadequate information. Will not go back.

Had the appointment last month after waiting over a month for the appointment. When I finally met him, he tried to rush through things and did not want to listen to my concerns. Terrible experience, DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I have been a patient of Dr. Batista for over ten years and have always found his staff to be extremely professional and accommodating. He doesn’t waste words but does take the time to make sure I understand his procedures, diagnosis and on going care completely. I trust his abilities implicitly and recommend him without hesitation.

Dr. Batista and his staff were extremely kind, patient and personable. He is a very knowledgeable doctor and took the time to explain everything very thoroughly and answer every question I had. I have been stressing about my health issues and it was quite comforting to finally find some answers.

Worst customer service ever. Don’t even lose your time scheduling an appointment with this terrible doctor and terrible office staff. I scheduled an appointment months ago and driving to it I get a phone call from this office telling me Dr Batista decided not to see me, just because I used to see another Gastroenterologist.it this a joke?

Very disappointed with the experience we had at this office. I would not recommend Dr. Batista to anyone. Save your time and your money and go somewhere else.

Unfortunately we left my husbands appointment feeling confused and frustrated. While the doctor was nice, he rushed through the appointment with little explanation and seemed slightly annoyed by our questions. He did not explain the diagnosis in a way that we understood what the treatment options were or what the medication was even clearly for. I would not recommend him.

I have seen Dr. Batista since 2007. He has always been professional, knowledgeable and caring. He put me at ease about a procedure I was nervous to have completed - and he was right...it was no big deal at all. He is a skilled physician that cares about quality and integrity in medicine. I would trust him with the care of any of my loved ones.

I have a serious condition which I was trying to get in with. Called to schedule an appointment and nurse told me he is booked month and half in advance. Called couple weeks before my appointment trying to confirm time and nurse tells me that my appointment was cancelled. However nobody notified me at all. Started digging what could happen and scheduling staff couldnt find the reason. I was transferred to the office manager and she just told me that I called in and made cancellation but there is no record I ever did that. Really!!! This makes me sick how they treat people!!! Stay away and find responsible provider if you dont want to be humiliated !!!

I would never reschedule with Utah Gastrointeronly again. I made an apt yesterday with Dr. Batista and was not told that there would be a $50 cancellation fee for same day. My pain has gone away and after reading the reviews on the doctor I realized last night it wasn’t worth the apt. Called in today to cancel and they told me I would be charged $50. When I asked Jennifer for a more direct answer on why I would be charged without being warned of this she pushed me off saying she could send a message, but wouldn’t know before my apt time and made it clear she could care less about my concern. She said “I could transfer you to the office manager, but she isn’t even in....”I am shocked at how unprofessional these people are.

I came to Dr Batista for a second opinion. I could not even see him. The nurse as a go between said I needed to go back to the first Dr Id seen. Im not sure how second opinion got lost here. I am unable to eat anything. Its been two months. I waited almost four weeks for this appointment and am leaving without any help. I would leave zero stars if possible. Nurse was rude and treated me like an idiot.

My Family is new to Utah and had to find a new medical team to work with current medical conditions. Being medically trained and working in the medical field , there is a certain level of tact that is needed when serving patients. Batista would not listen to my concerns. His suggestive wording and phrases are those used when treating a narcotic seeking patient. He surmised that I was taking my prescribed medications to lose weight. We have special needs that our prior team of doctors are aware of. When I expressed my concern to Batista, rather than attempting to work the problem, he threatened to call security staff for physical immobilization while performing a medical procedure (very unsettling). This was unacceptable after being in extreme pain and waiting approximately 2 months for our first visit with Batista. If you have no knowledge of anatomy, not medically trained, or merely want a a doctor to PRACTICE his medical expertise on you, Dr. Batista would be a great candidate.

Dr. Batista and his staff have always been kind and professional. The doctor spends time explaining and listening at every visit. Thank You Dr. Batista and staff!

Seriously one of the worst ran offices EVER!!! Both St George and Salt Lake are horrible!!! They do not care about patients at all.

I found the staff very accommodating and Dr. Batista expressed a very compassionate bedside manner. I appreciated being treated with respect and caring. I would highly recommend Dr. Batista to anyone having to have this uncomfortable and vulnerable procedure!

People here is very unprofessional, they are not willing to help. My husband has more than 10 year with Dr Batista, and the lady that answer the phone today at 2:50pm, did not want to make my husband appointment to feb 6 (that is the date they had available) because I didnt have his insurance number. This is the first time someone ask for it, we always give it at the practice. So disappointing.

Would not recommend.. Was with family member for visit. It was waste of time for someone who has no time to waste.

I would walk through fire for this guy. He has such skill and had helped my daughter with her PSC. Yes. See him.

Very good experience. Especially appreciate the clarity and completeness of the Dr. Batistas explanation. The nurse who attended and the nurse who got me ready were fantastic!
