Beware. Although Larry seems insightful and experienced at first, he only made things worse. He exploits weaknesses to cause more pain thus justifying the need for more frequent sessions and to make sure you need to keep coming back. It took a suicide attempt for me to realize he was abusing my child. Spent months with a psychologist just getting back to where we started and are now finally making progress. Stay away from this one. He is an unlicensed counselor that does not report to anyone so you cant even complain about him short of filling a lawsuit. He does not accept insurance and is absolutely terrible at billing and documentation. would not recommend him to anyone for any reason. My recommendation is to stay away.

Warning: keep out! Larry will appear confident and discerning at first. Once your guard has lowered, he takes advantage of the situation, hurting weak and trusting people. Problems get worse, relationships get destroyed.

Larry Fritslan was forced to leave his previous counseling firm by his co-counselors. The problem being unhealthy enmeshment with clients, particularly female. Larry has the ability to size a person up, determine areas lacking in an individuals life. He becomes irresistible to one as he provides much of what the person has lacked. Counseling goes wrong, especially with a particular female type. His tendency is to enmesh with dynamic, attractive women and soon stops counseling for them and begins counseling for himself. He refuses to let the women or young girl go. He needs her to need him. She feels special but in reality she is apart of a long line of women enjoyed by Larry somewhere in the ballpark of 40-50. He continues to foster dependency upon him through manipulative means.

NARCISISTMy whole family has been ambushed and harmed by Larry. I would stay away from him even if he was the last counselor in the world. Larry does no follow counseling standards and is unlicensed. Therefore he is accountable to no one, you do not have recourse or restitution for damages, and there is no oversight process to hold him accountable for improper counseling. I went to a licensed counselor to try and repair the damage he caused and my counselor said that he does not have a good reputation in the counseling field. He is charismatic and charming but beware behind the facade is hiding a narcissist who is in it for himself.

Larrys staunch support of Donald Trump made me and my family uncomfortable. One star for bad treatment and bad politics!

Larry has a unique way of looking at addiction as a family issue which I think is a game-changer. Along with a very scientific approach, this perspective has really opened my eyes and increased my peace of mind with regards to understanding how coming from a family-of-origin with addiction issues has shaped my life. I can highly recommend Larrys approach to addicts or concerned loved ones.

When my daughter was 9 weeks away from turning 18, I had real thoughts we might lose her. She was an addict and had several years of stunted mental and emotional growth because of drug use. I was going through a divorce at the time that made her crisis even more complicated. After several months working with Larry Fritzlan AND HIS TEAM together with my daughter, we were advised to send her to Second Nature immediately. Second Nature is an amazing resource for recovery located in the high desert of southern Utah. Second Nature was a good proactive start but the real work began after she returned to live in a recovery house and start her group and individual work with Larry Fritzlan and his team. It is important to note that our daughter was not the only one who needed to commit to a program -- her parents did as well. Her mother and I went to Al-anon meetings and to Larrys Family Group meetings and we found sponsors to take us through the 12 steps of recovery in Al-anon. This commitment we made as parents greatly helped heal the family, heal our daughter and heal myself. I cannot recommend Larry Fritzlan highly enough and the importance of the parents’ involvement in the program. This works, and we are all involved and we are all responsible.”

This man is the best period. Works with the addict and parents in a way that is effective and works.
