Dr Kumba and Kelly are amazingly sweet and caring! I can not stress how professional, kind and patient they were. They referred me to get a second opinion on a difficult tooth situation before proceeding. instead of just trying to get the work done and money in hand. Would recommend them for adults and kids.

My children and I have been coming here for years, but this last office visit was horrible the receptionist seemed frustrated I was confused if whether I owed anything and she starts questioning me on the work done as if I was in the back to determine if I did. The dental assistant was sweet, but according to them my son was needing sealants for cavities on his bottom teeth and according to the receptionist his insurance did not cover them, so I rescheduled his appointment and asked that they send in a pre authorization and according to the receptionist she had sent it in the day we spoke which was a week before his next appointment, so on the day of I called the insurance and they said the pre authorization had just been sent in on the 30th which was 2 days before his appointment and they know it could take up to a week to get a response, and when I called the office to question this her response was she was on vacation. I just wish we had more clarity I’m definitely getting a second opinion and a different dentist for my children.

This place is ridiculous. The time they make you wait is insane, I’ve been here since 8:45 am it’s now 11:30 and they are still taking their time. Insane honestly

Ive been bringing my daughter here since 2011. Always professional and friendly. Everything is explained to me so I understand.The games in the playroom have been broken for a couple of years, but other than that this place is good.It does anger me that when people find out they accept Medicaid ( among other insurance) that they assume the cliental is lower class and get treated differently. All clients are treated the same here.Good job Ocean Dental.

Maybe the dentist should consider discussing the medical history report with the patient before demanding a physician waiver so I would not have to take antibiotics before a routine cleaning . I had my teeth cleaned here 4 times and suddenly its an issue on the fifth cleaning when I am signing in??? I had hardware put in my leg 35 years ago and I have never had any issues with it. I have osteoarthritis in my hand which is why I checked yes for occasional swelling and arthritis on my medical survey. I cannot believe it would be in my best interest to have taken 70 rounds of antibiotics over the last 35 years just to have my teeth cleaned every 6 months. No other clinic has ever required this and I have had multiple root canals, crowns, 2 extractions. CRAZY!

Good service, little slow on service calling, playground has been broken ever since, but overall its perfect for cleaning

Not impressed. Lack of professionalism in the office. Roaches on the floor. It looks like a chain dental office. We have insurance wit BCBS and moved from San Antonio in need of a dentist for my daughter. My first impression walking in to the building made me feel uncomfortable. You sign a waiver saying you aren’t allowed to go back with your child. This made me want to walk out and I probably should have. I watched her through a glass window. I assumed the Dentist would talk to me after she was seen to give me an update but no, only the dental assistant, not even the hygienist. My daughter has never had a cavity and still doesn’t but they told me they were going to charge me for sealants on her premolars. I called me insurance to verify why they wouldn’t pa and they said they cover sealants. So I called back to tell them and the office staff was rude to me and said no they don’t cover it and if I was you and it was my kid I would get it done. Eventually I thought, why... just go somewhere you feel comfortable. I’m not on medicaid I shouldn’t be treated wit disrespect. No one should, but I know the stereotype. You are your kids best advocate!

Be careful and fully aware of how your teeth look before going to this place even for a cleaning. Went here cause they took adult clients and one of the hygienist broke/chipped my tooth and didnt even have the decency to fess up when I asked her what that loud crack was (had to compare old x rays with another dentist to verify). Id trust your teeth elsewhere!

Long wait. Then when we finally get back there I felt like they were rushing us. Some of the staff is friendly and the dentist was nice.

Dr. Cumba and her hygienist are awesome! They are patient, gentle, and very accommodating. The kids and adults get distracted and entertain with tv while they work on you. Great place!

I have never in my life beeen so dissapoint in this dental office not once have i ben late or missed an appoint ment for my daughter she has been going here since she was 6 months old but the moment she looses her insurance they wanna turn a e year old away like she some homless person. Well i can tell tell Ocean Dental i will no longer be recomending people. They wont even do a payment t plan.

Is anyone else here for 2 hrs for a simple cleaning? Even on slow day ?

My visit was rushed because it was close to closing time even thigh my appointment was at 4 p.m. the nurse told me they couldnt do treatment because it was almost time to close. So i guess its time i switch to a different dentist.
