Caring people, but confusing...Reduced hours due to Covid, much harder to get answers or directions. The answering nurse may have had a bad day, not so nice. The person who I see, is an absolute professional.

I can’t say enough good things about my experience. Every single person that I came in contact with is so very kind. I met Alexis first at the front desk and she got me all checked in. She’s very welcoming! Next Blair took down all of my concerns making me feel super comfortable like talking to a friend! My Dermatologist Erin is the only person I’ll ever go for my skin needs! She’s very sincere and I can tell she really cares about her patients. She has my skin all ready for hot girl summer now! Thanks again!!

Their own physician recommended me for laser treatment with them only for me to get there and be told that they wont do laser treatment on me because it will not help. A lot of the employees seem to have no idea what they are talking about. Save your money and find another dermatologist.

This was the best patient experience I have had in a long time. I completed the paperwork before the day of my appointment which made check in very easy and quick. Staff was very kind and all proper PPE was worn throughout the office while maintaining social distancing. I meet with Lindsay, PA-C. She came highly recommended from a friend who is a also a patient. She was fabulous and very accommodating. She resolved my situation very quickly and pain-free. I highly recommend this office if you are looking for a great dermatologist.

I have been to Riva 3 times, but I will not be returning. The staff is incredibly rude and unhelpful and they try and rush you out as soon as possible. My skin condition has not improved since seeing them, it has just gotten worse. I expressed concerns to them, and they treated them like they were not valid. I am not sure why they cant treat their customers like humans with feelings.

Lindsay Jayson was very professional and does a amazing job explaining procedures. Excellent at what she does and makes my appointments painless. I will definitely be back very soon! A++++

Their scheduling system was terrible, I scheduled my appointment way in advance and the day before my appointment I get a call to be reschedule because they double booked. Kendall and Jazmine’s customer service was less to be desired. Instead of trying to get me in sooner than later they offered an appointment 2 weeks out. Their encouragement to go somewhere else was noted.

Riva Dermatology turns away clients that have medical conditions that are not able to wear a mask. No options to see them just cancel their visit that they waited 3 months to be seen for. After Riva Dermatology canceled the visit & rescheduled it twice. Where is real customer service & their heart at for patients? Skincare must be all the staff care about , the rest of the human body must not matter to your staff. No knowledge or understanding about other health conditions. Atleast an effort was being made by the client by wearing a face shield. No effort of understanding by Riva Dermatology of Anxiety Disorder. No stars cause, no shine, no heart. But this site makes you give 1 star to post so that star is shinning for all those who suffer in silence, hope this gives awareness to this place and their lack of knowledge, and brings awareness to the many illnesses that you can’t see on the outside but are very real on the inside.

Went to the Cornelius branch for a 10:30am appt. only to find the appt. had been made in Denver. A new appt. was made for April 13th. I was given an appointment card. Later the same day I received a call to schedule an appt? When I explained that my appt. was already set for April 13th I was told oh sorry! that appointment was given to someone else, but I could be fitted in at the end of April.Wow! Great way to make your clients feel unwelcome!

My daughter has been going to Riva for years (shes 7) and they are so patient when treating her. I couldn’t speak higher of Erin Dice, PA-C. She really calms my daughter and makes the experience so pleasant. She’s so attentive and we never feel rushed. On our last visit the office manager even came into the office to help calm her down. Great practice and great people!

I need to know why my insurance was billed for a 5 minute appointment. Absolutely nothing was done at this appointment except tell me there is nothing they can do for a cyst. She didnt tell me anything about my skin condition or anything. I mean I know about cyst already but she could have said a little more than there is nothing we can do with this if she was going to bill me 100 bucks. I thought that is what derms do...? This is obviously just a cosmetic facility. They should have notified me when I made my appointment that they do cosmetic procedures and not medical. I should have done more research but this was a last minute appointment. I should have also known something wasnt right when I got right in. Sometimes its worth the wait. I also called them on the 23rd(its now the27th) to get the Referral that they said I needed to see a plastic surgeon and I have yet to receive a call but they definitely charged my insurance for absolutely nothing. I would not recommend this place if you need professional medical attention. If you need cosmetic then maybe they can help you.

Dr. Shafran is an artist when it comes to fillers and facial sculpting. I moved to the Triangle area from Cornelius and drove three hours for his expert care.Once you find the best, no one else will do!

This place is great! Super efficient. I recommend doing your initial paperwork before you arrive. It’s printable from the website. They also text you reminders about your appointments. The Doctors are great. I would highly recommend this place to my friends and family.

I had my first, and only, appointment at Riva in Cornelius back in November. I had called and scheduled an extraction for milia and a few cystic acne spots. Upon arrival, they acted as though I didnt tell them what I was visiting for. No extraction was actually scheduled and instead the doctor provided me with a prescription for a cream that heavily dried my skin out, but didnt help with cystic acne. Additionally, I wasnt completely clear on the instructions for use and asked for them to be explained a second time. The doctor was rude about it and acted as though I was rushing her and slowing down her day. The office said they would check with my insurance company and call me to schedule the extraction appointment I had already requested, but they never did and its two months later. I had called them back two weeks after the initial appointment and they still didnt have an answer. Overall, even if they did call tomorrow I would not be returning.My general experience here was that it was rushed, they were inattentive to what I was needing, and nor did they care. I believe they were just after the money and prescription bump from the drug company. I know they have many great reviews, but this is just my two cents.Update: March 20As stated, I havent been back to Riva, but do have an update on my situation. I still havent heard from Riva about the extraction appointment. My skin has cleared though, at home, without using their advice or suggestions. I simply started using a significant amount of facial moisturizer every day to keep my skin hydrated and boom, cystic acne has disappeared. Its been gone for over a month or more and has yet to make a reappearance. So much for needing my skin to dry out as more moisturizer fixed my problem. Save your money.

I had a great experience at Riva Dermatology. I brought my toddler with me and they were extremely accommodating! I went in to get my skin checked to see if I had anything that looked concerning. (Years of fake tanning back in the day!) I had to hold my toddler while they checked cause she was screaming. LOL. They never made me feel uncomfortable about it! They were all super sweet. My appointment started right on time. Dr. Dice was helpful, answered all my questions, and I never felt rushed or just like another number to her! I will def be back :)

Lindsay Jayson is great! I had an issue for over two years and she was able to prescribe something that started the healing process within a day! All the ladies there were so nice. Highly recommend Riva.

0 Stars for new patients! We do not recommend Riva dermatologist to new customers. I made an appointment for my son and I for skin checks. We had the appointment for over a month. On arrival at the office, the receptionist appeared like she didn’t want to be there. She asked for my ID and insurance cards. I got them out. She then said she needed my son’s ID since he was 18. He turned 18 six days ago. I had drove my car so he did not have his wallet. She was so rude and said we can’t see you then. She did not say run home and get it or ask for other identification. We were stunned. No one had informed us that we needed his license for a skin check. I asked to see the office manager. I was asked to go outside and in the private entrance to meet her. A blond lady came in and said the manager was out, but that was policy. They could see me, but not him. We are on a first name basis with our old dermatologist and their staff. We will continue to drive back into CHARLOTTE to our old dermatologist for 45 minutes. We were hoping to find that same family atmosphere here at our new home in Lake Norman. The receptionist seemed more concerned about her extremely large fake eyelashes than any customer. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! 0 customer service. Teach your receptionist to smile: )--------------------------7-19-19 I do not know why you used my maiden name to respond which is not on this review. Our dermatologist in Charlotte also has three locations: Ballentyne, Indian Trial, & Mint Hill. They are able to keep up with the demand as well as provide professional and quality care. You could have pulled up various other documents to verify that he was my so or asked us to go home and get it. Sounds like Riva can not handle the demand and care of 100 patients a day.

This was my first visit since moving to NC. It was great! They were very professional, answered all my questions and took the time to familiarize me with their practice and even the local area. Lindsay Jayson was especially helpful!

I cant say enough positive things about this Dermatology Practice. I came into the Denver office because the skin on my nose was looking sun damaged. The Doctor in Denver, Erin Dice, used liquid nitrogen on the bad spots and then she asked me to remove my shirt so she could check for other sun damage. Thank God she did. She found a Mole that looked wrong and immediately removed a slice of it for biopsy. It turned out to be Melanoma. 2 weeks later Im in the Cornelius office being operated on by Doctor Shafran (spelling). Dr. Shafran has a wonderful bedside manner and really calmed me down about what I was going through all the while removing the malignant skin. I highly recommend him. Erin Dice has the most positive bedside manner for any doctor Ive ever met. She makes you feel welcome and explains everything. I would recommend Riva Dermatology to everyone. I get the stitches out tomorrow. I will update if needed.

Highly recommend Riva Dermatology! Thorough skin check and addressed every concern I had with patience and reassurance. They do not make you wait long at all and if there is a back up due to unforeseen circumstances they come into the room to let you know. Everyone at the office is super sweet as well!

We had a terrible experience when bringing our infant son in to be seen for persistent eczema. The receptionist was very rude and dismissive and we ended up leaving to wait in the car for our appointment time so I could feed the baby away from her disapproving looks. When we got back to see the doctor she was impatient and not very personable. She wrote a prescription we never even filled because I just didnt feel good about her advice. After a second opinion we a different treatment plan that worked wonderfully.

Our appointment was on time and very thorough. We were there for a full body check for moles and sun spots. The doctor was very nice and personable. Overall a very good experience. All our worries were put to rest.

I have seen Erin for years and have taken my 3 sons to her for various needs. She is wonderful! I highly recommend. Recently I have seen Nikki in the mooresville office and have been equally pleased. I love this place! This is the best experience with a medical professional that I have ever had in all my life, and Ive seen a lot of doctors. Whenever I schedule an appointment I dont have to wait weeks and weeks like I have at other dermatologists. Lindsay Jayson was great. She is very nice and very good at communicating exactly what the issue is and what treatment is necessary. Plus, both times she prescribed me a medication she gave me a voucher card kind of thing that made sure it would be super inexpensive or even free. And for an 11:00 appointment, for example, I never left any later than 11:20. Its amazing. I would totally recommend Riva Dermatology.

Dr. Shafran and his team have been my go-to dermatologists for many years. I am grateful they found two basal cell carcinoma spots on my face that I had not even noticed. Very professional and committed to patient care.

Just left my appointment to have a few skin spots checked out by PA- Lahey. My visit with her was great, however, my checkout experience was not. Apparently, the girl at checkout is unable to read and comprehend BC/BS insurance cards. After explaining that my co-pay is $35 - not $90 - she rudely insisted that their office always calls the insurance company to verify these amounts and that she was proceeding with the $90 charge anyway, (even after I showed her the card again and pointed to the cost for an office visit.)After reluctantly allowing her to charge me $90, I called my insurance company to inquire and it quickly became evident that they never called to verify my co-pay amount. That must be what this girl just tells people. After calling the office to explain that I had been overcharged, I was offered a voicemail for an office manager who could help on Monday (another 5 days from now.) At that point I just decided to go back into the office to see about a refund. When I got there, I was told to go to the back to deal with the same girl - who was completely unapologetic and rather rude, again.....My mind was blown!For such a beautiful practice, the customer service and professionalism is seriously lacking on the tail-end. It’s lacking so much so that although I really liked my service provider, I don’t feel comfortable going back since I’m guessing I’ll have to deal with the same incompetent and rude person on the way out. How hard it to say I apologize? I was actually quite inconvenienced, between the phone calls and having to turn back around and come into the office and wait in line, all over again.

A beautiful and clean office, the staff was very welcoming and friendly. I am a new patient in the area and with skin cancer running so close in my family Erin paid great attention to detail during my check up. Any marks on my skin that were darker in color or misshapen, etc. she checked very thoroughly. She answered every question I had and made certain I was leaving my visit with uttermost reassurance and peace of mind.

I absolutely love Riva Dermatology!!!! I’ve had many dermatologist in my life. After moving to the Lake Norman area and being referred to Riva Dermatology, I can honestly say it’s been the best experience! Definitely the best dermatology office and perhaps the best doctor care ever. Ashley Noone is caring and attentive. I instantly knew I was in the right hands when I saw her during a psoriasis flare up. She made sure to take care of me physically, but also cared about my emotional well-being. She even calls me personally to follow up on how I’m doing. I always leave there feeling cared for.

Lindsay took FANTASTIC care of me last summer when I had my first dermatology appointment ever. She answered all my questions and was able to properly diagnosed me. She even had me come in for a follow up (free of charge) to check in with me to make sure everything resolved. The staff is great and I now live in Hickory but still make the drive.

I was beyond impressed with my first contact with Lindsay Jayson. She was so helpful and knowledgeable. She warmly greeted myself and my 3 children and was quick to diagnose and treat my sons skin problem. She made my son and I feel comfortable throughout the appointment even though he had to have places removed. She was patient and talked to my son about exactly what needed to be done and gave him choices. A mothers dream to have someone treat her child with so much love and care. Had an appointment wanted to be able to pay cash for services to be rendered which was a cancer screening and were not able to tell me cost. Lady at front desk said depended on how they coded it. She also had an attitude. A cancer screening seems pretty routine to me.

Riva team is excellent. I have been going to dermatologist for years, same one and have had a number of moles removed along with a body scan. Decided it was time for a change and went to Riva, Keri and her team were awesome. Being Irish heritage I have a ton of moles, Keri took time to go through entire review and afterwards found 3 she did not like. One of which I have had for years, low and behold 2 of them came back a melanoma. The one has been not noticed since 2009. Thankfully as of now all post surgical results show negative margin and looks like we are good. I have my follow up already scheduled and am telling all my friends and family to get to them. Excellent experience.

My 17 yr old daughter has been going to Riva for acne treatment. They take the time to explain it to her as well as to me. They are knowledgeable and clear on whats next in my daughters treatment. Riva was recommended to us & now I recommend them to my friends when they notice how clear my daughters skin is. Mooresville office is a bonus!

This was my first visit to Riva. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. I admit I was a little nervous at first. Very surprised at how quick and painless my treatment was. Very happy with the results so far.

Ive been going to Riva Dermatology for a few years now. They are wonderful. They arent a bunch of plastics walking around dressed in street clothes, but professional medical staff who not only dress the part but know what they are talking about. They are trained in their profession and they can advise you on various treatments when you ask. They dont have to run and ask the physician first. Dr. Shafran is a caring and wonderful physician as well. He doesnt do anything without explaining his rationale for it first! I wouldnt trust my skin with anyone else!!!

I have been seeing Mari and Dr Shafron for many years, I have had numerous skins cancers which they have treated for me, as well as various other cosmetic procedures, and they are the best. The office in Cornelius is beautiful, the staff is so friendly , I never have trouble getting an appointment at a time the suits me, and I am seen immediately upon arrival. They are the best and I highly recommend them.

I was impressed at how quickly they called me (within a few hours) and on both occasions the Denver location was able to see me that same day. Erin Dice was very friendly and took the time to answer all of my questions.
