My family has known Dr. Rakofsky for thirty-eight years. He diagnosed my glaucoma then and has treated me ever since. I found him and his staff to very friendly and professional. I found Dr. Rakofsky to be completely thorough and always welcomes second opinions. I believe that Dr. Rakofsky is the finest eye doctor around. I believe his skills and abilities are second to none. He has kept me seeing for thirty-eight years with glaucoma in both eyes. I found him to be confident, but reassuring to patients concerning their diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Rakofsky reminds of the old country doctor that makes houses calls and has the wonderful bedside manner. The type of doctor that puts patient care first and everything else such as personal gains last. The best thing that I can say about Dr. Rakofsky is that he reminds me of my father, who was a doctor and had the same principles. I will say about Dr. Rakofsky as about my father, that is if I can be half the person they are that will be twice the person I want to be.

Amazing doctor and amazing office. Dr. Rakofsky is an Ophthalmologist with outstanding diagnostic skills. I have been seeing him for decades. He is also a fine human being who is more interested in caring for patients than in the business of being a doctor. His patients include those from all walks of life, from the very poor, the severely handicapped to the wealthy. Dr. Rakofsky always comes to the phone if you have a question and he has even called me at home on a weekend to see how I was feeling if I had been experiencing an eye problem. When was the last time you experienced that type of human kindness from a doctor? His prescriptions for my glasses have been consistently perfect as have been his diagnoses and treatments. As an added plus, Mona and Anna, his staff are wonderful. Appointments are not always necessary, especially if you’re experiencing an emergency.

Exactly the kind of doctor I was looking for. I have been to ophthalmologists in California and Florida over the last decade and they always try to impress you with fancy equipment, tons of tests (even offered me to take a picture of the back of one of my eyes ($25) once), but do they know their business? Mr. Rakofsky does. He goes straight to the point, tells you what he sees. He doesn’t try to sell you contact lenses or anything else. He reminds me to doctors in Spain (where I am originally from). They are not scared of telling you the facts, their offices breath experience, and they don’t hide behind fancy tools to do the job doctors have done for centuries.

Dr. Rakofsky is an exceptional ophthalmologist. We’ve gone the whole family for 5 years, and have had wonderful experience. His office will is well managed by his staff! I would highly recommend Dr. Rakofsky!

My first time going to Dr. Sanford Rakofsky was for an eye exam and Dr. Rakofsky was so nice and explained my exam and answered all my questions. He genuinely cares for his patients. He explained how my constant eye infections and headaches from the pressure in my eyes. I’ve seen many Optometrists/Ophthalmologists for the37 years and he’s the most thorough. Dr Rakofsky and staff is very nice, caring and accommodating they explained the entire procedure honestly and billing is always on point. I’ve referred many family and friend to him & now they are all permanent patients. My experience with both doctors and the staff was the best and I highly recommend them. Eventou we pay $1.00 for the parking for my visit, I can’t complain because Coral Gables average parking runs about $5.00.. Thank you Dr. Rakofsy and Staff! Melissa S.

Dr. Rakofsky is simply the nices most tentative doctor I’ve been to in a while! He’s in no rush but still very quick on his feet! Now a days you wait for what feels like forever just to see the doctor for a couple minutes.Yes the office is very outdated and what a lot of people would call “sketchy “. But I can assure your Dr.Rankofsky is hands down the best and not going to make you max out your finances.Dr.Rankofsky calls in his patients him self ! Greets you with a firm hand shake and then proceeds to listen ! After me explaining my problem he began to examine my eyes to the fullest along with a few test.(on both eyes even though I was only have problems with my left only ). He diagnosed me and wrote me a script for a particular eye drop. Upon trying to fill my script the pharmacy wanted $110 for this bottle of eye drops that’s less than 5ml.... I was baffled and not prepared for that charged. I called dr. Rankofsky and he said don’t worry have the pharmacy call me and we can try an alternative eye drop. Just his willingness to personally answer my call and help me immediately as best he could made me so happy I chose him to be my Ophthalmologist.I ended up taking the script to a different pharmacy where I got the eye drops $60 less!!!Dr.Rankofsky called me directly the next morning before the office even opened concerned he had not heard from the pharmacy. I explained I got the rx filled else where for way less and he was pleased !After one dose my eye had dramatically improved! He is the only person I will trust with my eyes ! Thank you Dr.Rankofsky and staff!

WORST SERVICE I HAD IN YEARS. DR GAVE ME WRONG PRESCRIPTION. I CAN NOT SEE WELL AT ALL WITH NEW PRESCRIPTION LENSES. I HAD TO GO TO ANOTHER DOCTOR WHO GAVE ME A NEW PRESCRIPTION AND WE FOUND OUT THAT NUMBERS ON RAKOFSKYs PRESCRIPTION WERE TOTALLY WRONG. I WENT BACK TO DR. RAKOFSKY WITH MY NEW LENSES AND ONLY SAID I AM SORRY... YOU GOT CREDIT FOR NEXT YEAR .... SO FUNNY !!! DOES HE THINKS THAT I WILL BE ON HIS OFFICE NEXT YEAR ? WRONG !!!!

I have to say, Doctors Rakofsky is not a bad person, I personally met him, but we humans make mistakes, and he did one real bad with Maria surgery, twice Maria have the surgery done, and we Thank God, we decided to go for second opinion, and even thoughe he told Maria she didnt another surgery, she actually needed another surgery, so it was there surgery done to Maria in a period of 7 months, how he made such mistakes, I have no idea, we have a appointment, Maria didnt go the appointment, not even a phone call to find out why she didnt go, is totally unacceptable and unprofessional from his part. I do not recommend Doctor Rakofhky especially if you planning on having a surgery with him. Go with Doctor Cuperson from The University of Miami. Do not made the send mistake we made, it have being a bad year for Maria enduring all this pain in her eye, loosing work days, it was a nightmare.

Mr Rakofsky probably was a good doctor, not anymore, this man is making many mistakes, do not go to see this doctor, avoid him at all cost, he have made wrongfully things to pacients of him and yet he still have a open office and people with out knowing of his are taking the risk, everytime, they go and see Dr Rakofsky, they only thing he care is money, he charge a copayment of $500,whe other places only charge only $250,plus he owns the building where is office is located and he charge $1.00 and $2.00 for other offices, this man is a complete scam, please do not go to his office, there are better doctor than him and a lot cheaper to. Thank you.

Dr Rakosky operated on my daughter-in-law Maria, everything was a nightmare for her, he was recommended to us by the Lucia optician, what a bad idea it was to believe in him, Maria has had to operate three kisses on the same eye, two with him and a third to correct the eye, Maria suffered a lot with her eye, lost days of work, spent on a prescription for glasses that is useless now, I do not recommend anyone to see Doctor Rakofsky, mistakes like that have great consequences , avoid going to this doctor.
