My first time visit to The Southwestern Eye Center in Coolidge was awesome! They were professional, efficient, and practiced Covid protocol. Both my husband and I had appointments back to back and we were both in and out within an hour. We made our annual appointments for next year. Even my husband, who isnt easily impressed commented the fantastic service.

The staff worked me in as I only had a small window of time available. The Doctors were through and informative.

I was so scared when I came here to get my eye looked at after I got pepper spray two inches away from my eyeball. I was crying, scared of permanent damage, and in a lot of pain. The doctor, the nursing staff and receptionists were all so kind and caring! Everyone made sure I was ok, even escorting me and walking slower so I could know where o was supposed to go as I couldn’t see anything at all. The doctor told me every step of his process and told me what the eye tests were and the eye drops. He was very considerate and kind to me. He made sure all of my paperwork was readily available to me, and ensured my follow up appointments were taken care of. I am so thrilled to have been treated so kindly here!! They are truly amazing!! Thank you, Southwestern Eye Center for all of your amazing work! I am so appreciative!

It was during the Virus but the staff had their act together! They were so efficient and helpful, it was actually a very pleasant visit! There were other patients in the office, distancing was utilized and we all started to joke and laugh, the staff joined in! It was a painless visit and very productive! I am so glad I did my homework and chose this facility! What a relief to know I finally found competent eye doctors in Coolidge!

Great experience. I love that they’re very strict about people wearing a mask and not allowing walk-ins without an appointment. Doctor I had was super kind and patient. I felt extremely safe in here with everything going on in the world.

The drs and nurses pa’s staff great. Very nice clean, comfortable.Never ever had problems till 1/28/21.The woman who answered phone inquiry, no , very argumentative, rude, like she wanted to do nothing. I had cataract surgery , glasses and in oct I was there cause of fear they were back. Dr did a very good exam. Learned that only can have surgery one time. So an appt made to get glasses. Office worker looked up my file and it showed 2012 surgery. So glasses are paid by ins. But this person told me that there was no record I had surgery and said I had to come in for another exam to show I had surgery. Dr, others approved and agreed o had it but this phone person , nope can’t find it, you need to come into tomorrow and sign papers to send another dr the report. My question is, if no surgery listed why come on to sign forms for another company to get glasses??? I don’t know name, don’t care to , I had appt to get glasses pd for by ins in Dec 2020 but migraine and I would have to wait till end of Jan 2021.So I found another company that was sooner. Long story. Why would a prestigious place that is so efficient etc. hire this person. Because of her I have to get a ride, get forms, talk to a manager, wait for another date in March cause today 1/29/21 was to get glasses. Mine broke in 10/2020

This is the way all officed should run their clinics. The girls in the front were having a great time giggling and laughing with everybody and the doctor was very personal and professional

Quick in and quick out. Covid-19 protocol were in effect and I appreciated that. Much quicker than anything up in the Valley. Dr. Walker has an excelent reputation as a professional.

Dr. Ethington , is the best. He takes his time and listens to the patient .

I had some eye issues and went to the Southwestern Eye Center in Coolidge where I was met with courtesy and had a very thorough eye examination and then met with Dr. Ethington. His knowledge and patience in explaining all he saw in laymans terms was more than anyone had before. Referral to an ophthalmologist was immediate. Thank you for the wonderful care. YES I would definitely recommend this office to anyone needing great eye care.

I am writing this review while I am sitting in the eye center office in Coolidge. First off, the front staff are helpful and friendly. After that, my experience has been completely downhill. I did not see anyone until 20 minutes after my appointment. The lady I saw did what I guess is a preliminary eye exam -- she was extremely rude and robotic. No people skills what so ever. I am still waiting to see the eye doctor (an hour later), who I have already lost confidence in given his choice of professionals. I am anxious to leave and will definitely find another eye doctor with updated facilities and professional assistants. The only thing this place has going for it are the two front office staff. I DO Not recommend this place and will have my next appointment elsewhere.

All of the employees at SWEC were great and most helpful. Dr. Jordan Bluth was very thorough in his examination. I have great confidence in SWEC and would highly recommend Dr. Bluth and SWEC to everyone.

The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because of having to repeat the entire process 2 days in a row to get into the building and to start my appointment. Billing insurance separately for the health checkup and vision appointment is ridiculous when a patients time is not valuable in the scheduling and you repeat the same steps. Ive never had it billed separately and never had an issue in all of my life, however I understand some may. Next time I will schedule them at the same time so its done once and over with and pay the difference if necessary, my time is worth more than double appointments repeating steps one day apart.I would also recommend your screening become more weather friendly here for COVID. I visit many offices for appointments with myself and my husband and in our heat it is not feasible to stand outside in the sun waiting to have out temp taken and questions asked that will be way high in temp from our sun, and sitting in a car to idle for over an hour waiting for a family member that will be diolated is also stupid.The doctors were very professional and great to work with and so was the waiting room staff. I would recommend however, that your employees understand verbal expression of their frustration with clients on the phone very loudly in your office probably isnt best for customers to hear. If they talk that way about someone its only time before the next client is the talk of the office. Not necessary, very loud, and very disruptive.

Made an appointment at the Coolidge location (I thought) by calling the number that was listed on Google maps. Made the appointment about a month in advance. I show up for my appointment 30 mins early to browse new frames. First of all they make you wait outside. After someone came to the door and asked for my name, they told me my appointment was for the casa grande location. Maybe they should have asked what location I wanted to make my appointment at if there was the option. I called the Coolidge number. I will not be going back to this location ever.

Been with SWE for 20 years. Dr. Walker is a true professional with excellent people skills and is extremely knowledgeable.

It was awesome over there. Everyone was super nice and helpful. We also asked over the phone if we could have a bilingual attendant and when we arrived both doctors helping us were bilingual. Also the lady at the front desk made signing their new patient documents a breeze. Also also, we never felt pressured to commit to any treatment which is always appreciated

Greeted at door, asked Covid questions and took temp, directed to checkin person for ID, insurance and payment. Eye tech performed questipns, test, eye drops. Directed to seat and had brief wait for doctor. Doctor performed exam and gave me results.Very efficient process and compliant to Covid prccedures.

My friend recommended this office even after I had read negative reviews, but the friend and I had the same optometrist a few years back who we really liked. So, I gave them a try.From the very first contact with them when I called for an appointment, I was quite happy with each person I met.The scheduling person called back the day before my exam to explain that she had contacted my insurance providers and gave me detailed information on the billing I would encounter.Dr Thompson is very good and listened to all of my comments and and patiently answered all of my questions. I felt the exam was thorough and that his advice was good.

All the staff there were very courteous and helpful. I’ve been to a different office and a the staff there were a bit rude except for the Drs. Dr Ethington and everyone In his office are always pleasant. Never had a bad time there. Also although I wasn’t always a steady patient there, I’ve known the Dr since way back in the 80’s.

More satisfied with eye exams than my last one at a different provider. In hindsight I wish I had asked more questions about my eyesight and changes I’ve experienced. The glasses were much more expensive this time around but there was a variety of frame choices.

Most excellent throughout! Front desk staff were courteous and knowledgeable. The admitting nurse was the same and ran the full battery of eye test with knowledge and a smile. Dr Jackson was courteous and personal. He listened to me and discovered my astigmatism, and informed me that this was the reason for my blurry vision even with contacts. He did the eye tests and adjusted my prescription slightly. Then switched me to a different brand of contact which also fixed my astigmatism/blurry issue. I see GREAT now! Well done doc!

I most definitely would highly recommend Southwest Eye Center. I have had Dr. Ethington as my Optometrist for many many years. I drive #1 hour each way, just to get my exam. f your looking for the best in the Southwest, look no farther. Southwest Eye center IS THE BEST.

This is a great place to have your eyes taken care of. Everyone in the office are very personable and friendly. Even the folks in the waiting area talk to each other. When I leave the office I feel like I had a very thorough exam and no one ever tries to pressure you into buying a bunch of stuff that you dont need.

My daughter is three and quite dramatic. The team here at this Center was completely patient with her and made her comfortable and cooperative. They went above and beyond in my opinion with rescheduling, patience, and explaining step by step. Definitely going back.

The visit with the doctor was great. However, the gal that works on the intake of data needs to improve her bedside manner. She was impersonal, cold and borderline rude. If not for the doctors, I would go somewhere else.

Normally we live SWEye but this last visit wasnt great. Dr. Rollins was quite rude to my 16 y/o. He was super impatient with her. I am not sure we want to go back because he has no bedside manner. Dr Ethington is wonderful and hope to see him again soon. We have seen Dr Walker before too hes super nice.

Great service friendly staff. I had a piece of metal in my eye they got me right in and took care of me. I was very pleased with the service.😁

Unfortunately I did not receive the same customer service or the correct prescription. I had server headaches and was extremely tired at the end of each day after receiving my glasses. I went back a month after realizing that the glasses were to strong for my eyes. I was told that my recheck was going to be 59.00 and at that point I just wanted my headaches to stop so I paid for another visit. They proceeded to tell me I needed a new prescription and it would be best if I got progressive lenses. At that point I asked if we could use the same frames that I already purchased. The lady that helps you pick frames and places your order proceeded to tell me my frame would not work and that it would be best to get to different frame and that it was extremely expenseive to have progressive lenses. (suggesting I could not afford them) at this point I asked to speak to the Dr again as I did not understand why I needed progressive lenses at all. She stated he was to busy with other patients. At this point I was upset that I had not gotten my issue resolved and I let the office in tears. I went and got a second option and have had my new glasses from another Dr office for about a month with no headache and no progressive lenses needed. My prescription from Southwest Eye Center that made me have such sever headaches ended up 1.25 to much power which was causing such a huge problem for me. I contacted the corporate office to see if I could get some of my refund back do to the issues and have yet to hear from anyone! I highly recommend avoiding this Dr Office as they are rude, and not understanding to their patients needs and dont correct their own mistakes!!!!

I recently had an eye exam at Southwestern Eye in Coolidge, the staff was friendly knowledgeable, and professional. I thought I might need a new prescription, but based on tests I was told by Dr Jackson it was not needed at his time. I appreciate that, as it gives me confidence they were not recommending unnecessary products. Good experience.

I went to see Dr. Roger B Ethington for an eye exam. It turned out to be a rather great experience. It reminded me of the Doctors we had in East Greenbush NY back in the 50-s. The staff are very professional and Dr Ethington is now a dear friend. A very relaxing visit that I felt should have cost much more. Yeah No kidding!

I have used Southwest for many years. I am pleased with their service and find them very competent. I usually work with Dr. Ethington who has been a great support to me as I worked with children with visual impairments. My 90 year old Mom sees them due to her macular degeneration , and just this last few weeks, my son who had a serious eye issue has been seen by them. I am very grateful to have this fine group of doctors in our small town.

Dr Ethington at Southwest Eye is a caring and professional optometrist. The office got me in quickly and Dr Ethington diagnosed my eye infections. In addition to prescribing meds, he fully and completely explained the home care and routines to follow. I had several questions and he answered them completely. Even though the Coolidge office was full of patients, when it was my turn, he wasn’t rushed and focused on me. He reassured me and set up a follow appointment to check on me. I had the same great experience at my follow up appointment.

The only issue with this business is the long wait times. Appointment times dont mean too much. Otherwise, a good place to do business.
