After trusting Dr Hudson for 20 years, NO MORE.1: YEARS of vague, incomplete diagnosis of problem of tearing and discomfort, being talked at, not to, rushed visits, the last two being ended with her back to me as she exited the door. DONE!2: FINAL STRAW. Cataract surgery that has cost me my prize near vision, permanently! I WAS NOT INFORMED IN THE LEAST OF RISKS, COMPROMISED VISION, worsened formerly non diagnosed chronic dry eye, incurable, I might add resulting in the rest of my life with miserable compromised vision. And the.light sensitivity. OMG! I could have gone far longer with new distance glasses that were not scratched up and still have been able to take my glasses off and read the smallest print on anything, now I cant even with glasses.3: I have looked into out of pocket services to try to regain my vision. CANT DO due to increased risk of detached retinas.I am cursed with whats left of my life with reduced vision, daily struggle with in creased previously undiagnosed dry eye with pain, tearing, more out if pocket expenses etc.4: Bottom line, no info given regarding possible risks, negative side effects, loss of near vision, just Medicare would pay, which lens did I want,????? NO CLARIFICATION that seeing distance, which was what I wore glasses for for years would cost me near vision COMPLETELY. I should have been INFORMED.. I would have made a completely different decision given proper information.NOW I HAVE THE REST OF MY LIFE WITH REDUCED VISION, LOW LIGHT, PAIN, TEARING, MAJOR OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES. PROPER INFORMATION WOULD HAVE PREVENTED THIS. RUN.

Dr. Hudson and her staff were amazing!! It’s been a week since my operation and my eyes are feeling great. My experience was definitely a 10/10!

I had cataract surgery on my left eye yesterday and I cannot express how much I absolutely love Dr Hudson and her staff. I have been wearing glasses since I was 7 and to be able to see everything crystal clear and beautiful is something I cant explain! Dr Hudson is kind and caring and makes you feel as though you are her only patient. I will never be able to thank her enough. In 2 weeks Im getting my right eye done and I am actually excited about eye surgery. I would recommend her to anyone, always. I wont go anywhere else. I had LASIK performed by Dr. Hudson, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Not only did she carry out the procedure expertly, her attitude/demeanor is wonderful. Radiates positivity and made me feel so welcomed and cared for. Can’t overlook the staff either! Everyone I interacted with was exceptionally kind and attentive. Very grateful. And I even got a t-shirt! They explained each step and answered all my questions. I give each person a 5/5 rating ☺️.

I got my eye exam and glasses at this eye doctor. I have always had anxiety about going to the eye doctor due to previous infections. I had the best experience with my exam as well as the lady that fitted me for my glasses. I also changed my son to this eye doctor as well. My elderly grandma goes here as well and they are always very accommodating for her needs. Overall great environment and great customer service would recommend this office to anyone.

I am the patient: ANTHONY DAGOSTINO. I am very happy with Dr. Hudson, but the young lady that helped with fitting of the glasses, Im not happy. I had to return two times to help with fitting. I spent $200.00 for eyes exam and then another $300.00 and I am completely dis-satisfied. My lenses are not what I expected. In order to read or work on my computer, I have to tilt my head and neck downward in order to see. I would recommend having Dr. Hudson be the last person to see you. My mother, Jane Odom had been a patient of Edward Cherney, who trained Dr. Shriji Patel, who utilizes Dr. Hudsons office on Fridays. She absolutely adores Dr. Patel. He is so knowledgeable and has such a lovely, compassionate manner. He is also board certified in internal medicine, which is quite rare. How wonderful it is to have access to such an esteemed physician here in Cookeville! She is in the very best of hands.

I called the office on August 20, 2020 to make an Appointment for my mother in law ( who has Alzheimer’s), the lady said they didn’t have an appointment until September 3 at 8:00. I told her she was having some problems with her eyes and she said she would put us on list to call if they had a cancellation before Sept 3. Well, we never got a call, so we show up today September 3 at 8:00 and the said we didn’t have an appointment scheduled !! I was livid...after waiting 2weeks to get the appointment and then they hadn’t even scheduled it. I even told them I would show them in my phone where I talked with them. They said no we believe you we just don’t know what happened. So now we have to wait ANOTHER week to see the Doctor. NOT VERY HAPPY!!

Dr. Alissa Hudson and her staff are amazing! I was well beyond legally blind with a vision measured somewhere between 20/500 and 20/800. After about 30 years in contacts I was having problems wearing them. Also the cost for toric lens for astigmatism is quite high. I was a little fearful of lasik but Dr. Hudson answered all my concerns in such a friendly and understanding manner. She is knowledgeable, enthusiastic, has a wonderful personality and everyone there is very friendly. One week after surgery I now have 20/15 in each individual eye and can even read the 20/10 chart with both eyes open. Go see her and the only question you will have after the procedure is, Why didnt I do this years ago?! Thanks Dr. Hudson!

I went to this place back in Oct. 2019. And they told me my vision matched up with my 2015 PRESCRIPTION!!! I asked if they were sure because i felt my vision has changed in the last 4 to 5 years and they said yes and that I don’t need new prescription. 3 months later I go to the place I originally got my 2015 prescription and after my exam I was told that my vision changed(worsened) by 25%!!! My doctor was stunned when I told him that this place told me it was the same and I don’t need new prescription. I also had all other testing done for eye health and everything came out perfectly healthy(which he showed my results). Only thing that changed was my nearsightedness. Please people DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!

I flew in from Miami, FL to have surgery with Dr. Hudson. I can’t believe how seamless the entire process was. My appointment ran on time. My evaluation was thorough. I was given pre and post procedure instructions. Dr. Hudson walked me through the entire process during my LASIK treatment. I felt incredibly comfortable. She was so reassuring and confident that it certainly helped ease any uneasiness. I never had any discomfort after my procedure. I am very thankful to Dr. Hudson and her absolutely wonderful staff for such a VIP treatment. I am very lucky for your care. 20/20 vision in 2020!

After many glowing recommendations from friends and colleagues, I scheduled a consultation for LASIK surgery with Dr. Alissa Hudson. From the moment she walked into the exam room, I absolutely loved her. She answered all my questions, made sure I felt completely comfortable, and she was an absolute rockstar during surgery - I was pretty nervous and she kept me calm and reassured throughout the procedure. Every appointment from my consultation, to my surgery, to my post-op visits have been easy and stress-free. Highly recommend Middle Tennessee Eye and Dr. Alissa Hudson if you are considering LASIK or other procedures.

My husband was in a dynamite explosion years ago that damaged both eyes. Dr Hudson did an awesome job yesterday removing his cataract & replacing the lens. I would recommend her to anyone!

First let me say, Dr.Hudson is AWESOME!! However, the wait time upon arriving and checking in was 40 minutes! As the Tech cameto get me I said, “Y’all must be running behind.” She said , “No, be glad you didn’t have to wait 2 hours, you would if you were at a Dr’s office.” (I didn’t reply to her) But, I was at a Dr.’s office! I have NEVER waited more than 15-20 minutes in any Dr.’s office unless the Dr. had to leave for an emergency. To me, this was unacceptable. The reflection of the 1 star has nothing to do with Dr. Hudson herself.

This office has very good technical and professional staff however they are a typical old school optical shop running the same old scam on consumers. They will not provide customers their pupillary distance (PD) reading (required for an glass purchase) with an exam unless you buy glasses from them. I paid for my exam and it all went very well until I asked that my PD be included in my prescription. They flat out refused. Actually the optometrist said I could have it during the exam but I had to get it from the front office staff who refused. I offered to pay more for it to be included. Again, they refused. I hand delivered the two doctors in the practice a complaint letter and notified the FTC, Health Board, Better Business Bureau and TN Attorney General and they have both just have ignored me. Next I plan to appeal to my state representatives to change the laws in TN so shops like this will stop ripping off consumers. Beware of Middle TN Eye they will scam you. If you know of ophthalmologists who will not run this scam on you in the Cookeville, TN area please let others know.

Had cataract removal surgery performed by Dr. Hudson. Amazing how quick and painless the procedure was. Better yet was the huge improvement in my vision. Great to see again! Thank you Dr. Hudson!!!

To Gordon - Dr. Hudson is a medical doctor. She does not routinely do glasses prescriptions. Your medical insurance will not pay for a glasses prescription and therefore she is required by law to charge you for that service. This is not routinely done in an OPHTHALMIC exam.Pupillary distance is part of the eye glasses fitting. Generally not done until you PURCHASE glasses. Many Optometry offices dont include that unless you buy glasses from them.Dr. Hudson is a fantastic doctor. Too bad Gordon doesnt understand how billing works. He should have asked to speak to the doctor before giving a 1-star review.

Got my LASIK here n its awesome. Then got some great sunglasses. Huge selection. They need to advertise more! Cookeville’s little secret.

Have MRSA and she is doing All she can to beat this. Even on weekends. Until I can get to specialist in July

I think Dr. Hudson is a great eye doctor, she did a good job on my cataracts several years ago. My visit this time was not so good. The time with Dr. Hudson was great, but the staff left so much to be desired. The refraction exam was incomplete, as my reading vision was never checked. I than had to demand a copy of the refraction prescription and was told my insurance would not allow for me to get a copy of the report. When they reluctantly gave me a copy, it was incomplete. I asked about the missing pupillary distance numbers I was told that could not be checked and if it was checked they would be fired. WHY WOULD ANYONE GO TO AND PAY FOR AN INCOMPLETE EYE EXAM? These people have lost all understanding of customer service. Sorry to say I will be looking for a new eye doctor, and because of the people she has working for her, I will never be able to recommend Dr Hudson in the furture.Gordon Vasseur.
