I took my new rescue, Cole, for first day. The manager called me a dog flipper and told me I was not welcome to return nor were any of my dogs. “Flipping“. would imply that I’m profiting from going to high kill shelters pulling out dogs on death row with my own money, then going into credit card debt while caring for their every need including vet bills, often obedience lessons and yes—even doggy day care.Yes, I’m into animal rescue although very few of my rescues have found their way to Camp Happy Hounds. All my rescues have found wonderful homes! Still reeling from being personally attacked, insulted and maligned for helping dogs!I’ve often fostered dogs for people who find themselves in situations where they can’t keep their dog with them for one reason or another. Stella was a regular at Camp Happy Hounds for over a year. Her family left their house in Charlotte and moved into an RV.Stella is an energetic runner and escape artist who enjoyed her time at Camp Happy Hounds. Stella’s family purchased a 200 acre farmhouse in Florida and were able to take her back. Then there was my cousins’ dog, I’ll call her D. I grew so attached to this dog while my dear cousin was in intensive cancer treatment after being diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. I was deeply saddened when her husband picked her up but what else could I do? This is NOT dog flipping! Yes, I’ve had a lot of dogs come through Camp Happy Hounds. Some I hoped I would keep forever and it didn’t work out. Sometimes no matter what I do—certain dogs are too much for me to handle. I’m a 65 year old female recovering from cancer myself. My rescues always get the most wonderful, caring homes.I take them myself, check references and vet histories.I left in tears. The manager was verbally abusive, extremely angry and told me not to come back under any circumstances. She called me a dog flipper and alluded to the fact that I’d brought too many dogs in. I’ve paid for daycare, they don’t operate a charity. I offered to pay for the evaluation. I’ve usually always purchased a nail grinding and bath when they get an evaluation because I did feel I should for fairness.. She reiterated that I was not welcome and my dog is not welcome. She implied she would have me arrested. It’s unbelievable.Cole is a sweet German Shepherd, I recently drove to Eastern NC to save him from imminent euthanization. The first one is Cole, next is Dolly (now a service in training for a disabled veteran who actually responded for the first time in 6 months), next is Dante, Dinah, Maisey and then Stella.

This wonderful place gives the utmost care for your furry friend. We boarded our girl, Freya, for a week for vacation. She fell ill and they were able to take her to a local vet for us.. They gave me a lot of updates on her and were super helpful. Its a 30 minute drive to Camp Happy Hound but its worth it knowing my girl is being taken care of. Whether its boarding or just daycare there is noone I trust more than the staff at Camp Happy Hound. 😊🐕

My husband and I took a tour a week ago. Two friends have recommended Camp Happy Hound very highly. We were very impressed on the care they provide and how clean the camp was. Today, we took our doggy there for her evaluation. She was nervous at first, but Becky said she was fine after a while. We plan to board our doggy there. Also, just want to say Becky gave us the tour. She was so nice and took time to explain everything to us. Answered all our questions and made us feel good about leaving our sweet doggy there.

I would definitely recommend Camp Happy Hound! They provide a wonderful, large indoor and outdoor space for their campers. Very clean, lots of space and things for the furbabies to do! They take the time to post pictures of each camper while theyre playing for parents to access. Boarding services are excellent. I always receive responses promptly. This is a place that really cares about what they do and who theyre looking after!

Camp Happy Hound is a great place for dogs in Concord, Harrisburg, and nearby areas. We have two dogs, Tigger and Roo, who love to go. Roo literally starts whining as we go up the driveway. The facility is great and the play areas are amazing. Its fun to watch the hundreds of pictures uploaded daily to the Facebook page. The place is great.

Cant say enough! Clean, well organized, people who are happy to see your dogs. And they do all the stuff you said you would do...clip nails, bathe, and there is a training center next door. But after Rocky started going here he became more obedient. Oh! You dog will not have any energy to bark, and run crazy thru your house after coming to Happy Hound. #priceless

Awesome boarding and day care facility for your dogs. The staff there loves every dog and goes out of their way to care for them. They have a very nice indoor and outdoor area for playtime. Furthermore, here are segregated fence to keep the bigger dogs away from the tiny ones. The kennels are clean and each dog is given a bed to sleep on. Im really glad I found a nice place and such wonderful people to care for my dogs when Im out of town. It is a relief to have to worry if they are safe and being cared for.

We board some of our dogs here during vacations and have been thrilled with this facility. The dogs are always happy to spend time here. Additionally, the staff is always genuinely happy to see them. We board our difficult Mastiff and German Shepherd mix here every time we go out of town. They LOVE it. The staff is great, and they do wonders with our dogs. The dogs love going to camp! Their pricing is great for what they offer. I love that the dogs can get outside and play during the days, and theyre not forced to play inside all the time, or on astro-turf on top of concrete. They always welcome us to bring our own beds/blankets/toys for their kennels while we are gone. Weve never had a bad experience with the staff or with the other dogs they take in. They post photos daily on their Facebook page, so you can check up on your dogs while theyre there. I would definitely recommend Camp Happy Hound as a daycare/boarding facility.

We were very upset when we brought our dogs for boarding May 2016 - we had used this facility before and were reasonable happy with the service & staff - we liked that they had 24 hr care, because at one time we had a dog that needed it. THIS time, however, even though we had booked all 4 dogs in advance, and reiterated that our male was NOT altered, Tony (one of the owners) looked at our male & exclaimed in a very loud voice, That dog has balls... He cant stay here! For a moment, I panicked, because we were going away with 9 other members of our family & I had no other immediate option.... Luckily, the staff member who had booked it took care of the situation, but only after the owner also stated that HE would test him (our male), even though he had been boarded there before. That concerned me enough to call back an route to our destination, to stress to that staff member that I did NOT want Tony testing my dog!Hey Tony, your customer service stinks!

This place is amazing. Weve had trouble boarding one of our dogs because she is extremely shy and skittish of new people, or even relatives shes been around frequently. We brought her here for a test daycare and the staff was able to gain her tentative trust by the end of the day. We left her and our other dog there and they had a blast over the weekend and loved the staff. Our dog used to hate car rides, but now if she thinks were going to Camp then she is very excited and she runs up to the staff members upon arrival.Camp Happy Hound has an experienced staff of former dog trainers as well as large indoor and outdoor segregated lots, so there is ample time for playing with other boarders. They even post pictures on their facebook group at the end of each day. They are even very flexible on late evening and 7 day (including Sunday, although not guaranteed) pick up or drop off, which is completely unknown around here. I highly recommend these guys!

Was going out of town and made a reservation for my dog to be dropped off for a night. Got there at 10:30 waited at the front desk. There was an event going on. So we rang the bell and waited. Walked to the fence and the employees said drop off is from 9-10. (Only an hour, kinda ridiculous to begin with) We were NOT informed of this. And the employees had a very sorry for your luck attitude about it. There was no manager on duty, they said they were understaffed and already had a lot of dogs but i made a reservation yesterday? Im very upset as we drove 45 mins specifically to bring them to c.h.h. and were on our way out of town.

I was interested in working at Happy Hound until I took a tour and learned more. The owners dont know much about dogs which is obvious when you talk to them. I also dont like that disease could be a hazard at their kennel. Their runs are grass and mud so cant be cleaned. Just seems like a glorified dog park. Not interested.

I dont usually write reviews but here it goes. Recently I adopted a nine MO doberman that is very active and was told she is great with other dogs.. I was worried about taking her to doggy daycare but from day 1 CHH listened to me and my concerns and took her in for evaluation, and she did great. Not only did they show true professionalism, constant reliability, they CARE so much about our dogs! Most importantly, my dobie loves, loves, loves it! She gets sooooo excited when I tell her she is going to doggy daycare! As long as they will have us, we will show up ready to play! ( well her)
