Looking for my great-grandfather led me to one section at a time. They were so helpful even thought he’s not buried a Woodlawn. So impressed with all they are doing!

We visited Woodlawn recently to pay our respects to family members. We were greeted warmly by volunteers and the founder, Celestina. Their hard work has turned this neglected space into hallowed ground once again. It was a pleasure to meet with them and trade stories and knowledge about the founders of Compton.

Great work is being done at Woodlawn Cemetery💐🌳 Celestina and her team are really bringing things together. I volunteer with One Section at a Time and its amazing all the work and effort this team has put in to transform this cemetery! The community appreciates what they are and have been doing. Much has been accomplished in so little time!

The whole crew is amazing for what they are doing for this Cemetery. They brought it back to life....They are just very delightful to be around... I loved volunteering and seeing the the process of the beautification..

I have 7 family members buried at Woodlawn and I can’t thank Celestina enough for taking care of them when no one else would. I have the before and after pictures to prove that she is responsible for making this place beautiful again. She is the most passionate and wonderful person and always has a smile and a huge welcome for her “family”.

This lady has worked very very hard on this project. She is greatly appreciated for turning this grave yard around. Volunteered on her own used her own money you could not ask for a better person for this project God Bless you Celestina

My Mom, Grandmother and Uncle are buried here. I visit the cemetery August 10, 2019 after my Father passed and was horrified to see the condition of the cemetery. Then last year I saw something on Facebook in regards to this organization one section at a time and we’re just so amazed to see the work that those young lady and volunteers had done to beautify the cemetery once again. I actually started crying because I was just over a joy to see how beautiful the cemetery is. Thank you Celestine and the volunteers and all who has made it possible to once again honor our beloved family members that has made their transition.

Fantastic organization. Really making a difference. My coworker told me about it and we like to visit them every weekend to help. You can see the green! And all the stones! I swear the owner is a god send.

Celestina and OSAAT are amazing. Their hard-work and dedication are unmatched and truly inspiring. The restoration of the cemetery is pretty mind blowing and to play even a small role in this endeavor was an honor.

I would like to say Thank you to One Section at a time for all the hard work they have done. To a Cemetery that was awful in appearance weeds everywhere you could not even see and headstones . No one to help it was totally isolated in bad condition. Than came celestina Bishop who took it upon herself to start a clean up Volunterr’s call One Section at a time . Now look at it Green every where. Well taken care of and very helpful to answer any questions. Thank You is not enough. What a Blessing May God continue to take care of you all

Woodlawn Cemetery has come such a long way thanks to Celestina and OSAAT ! They have been doing an amazing job transforming and giving the cemetery the love it needs. I have the best time going to volunteer and being a part of One Section at a Time and its ongoing/upcoming successes. I look forward to seeing the contributions and donations the community will offer in order to help better the conditions here in 2021 !

What an awesome job Celestina Bishop and OSAAT are doing!! Once Section At A Time has turned Woodlawn Cemetery into the beautiful resting place I remember as a child.With more funding/donations I know she and her wonderful staff could so much more.Thank you Celestina. OSAAT has been a major blessing to the Woodland Cemetery family. I admire all the hard work that has gone into the restoration of the property. I hope to continue to see the growth of OSAAT at the cemetery.

OSAAT is a fantastic nonprofit organization, they have done the impossible for the Woodlawn cemetery. It only takes one person to make a change, and in this case, Celestina was that person. Along with their amazing cemetery restoration project, OSAAT continuously served the Compton community through toy and food drives. Ive enjoyed my time volunteering with them and look forward to future amazing projects.

It has been a joy to work with and for Celestina as we are restoring Woodlawn Memorial Park. Her selfless dedication to this effort is both inspiring and motivating to me. I hope that the work can continue and receive the work of volunteers and donations from all.

From an unmaintained place to what is now beautifully green and manicured, these grounds keep people happy and at peace as a historic place for the community.

This has been one of the greatest projects that just got started by Celestina Bishop and another man on Mother’s Day 2020 hoping the gate to put flowers on their love ones. And took upon there’er selfs to clean the cemetary up. And with the help of Celestina going further people just wanted to volunteer and made it beautiful. And I’m so happy with the outcome. Please let this stay and help Celestina go foreword with ONE SECTION AT A TIME

So looking at the beauty of Woodlawn Memorial Park now, from what it looked like, when I entered the gates shortly after Mothers Day, it is such a big difference! In some areas the overhanging tree limbs met up with the high ground weeds. There were weeds all over the grounds, but with Relentless Leadership of Celestina Bishop & the Volunteers, Woodlawn Memorial Park has become, Welcoming Grounds for people to visit their Loved Ones Final Resting Place. As a child, this Cemetary was a beautiful green place to visit. Thank you Celestina on behalf of our family, for caring enough to make Woodlawn Memorial Park, a beautiful place to visit our father & for our children to also visit their grandfathers & great grandparents again, after so many years❤
