My two kids ages 3&4 had a full dental procedure on 10/25 here with Dr. Conner at 6:15am. By 10:45 we were on our way home! Before I arrived, I looked at the reviews and was a little skeptical. Let me tell you, they were wrong! The staff was amazing!!! Very caring, considerate and friendly! Definitely made my boys and myself feel at ease. They even followed up this morning 10/26 checking on them. I’d definitely recommend this faculty!! Thanks Palmetto Surgery Center!!!

Dont come here. Had to drive 2 hours to the center, arrived early for an 11:00 appointment for a 4 year old, they didnt start until 1:00. They were 2 hours late to start, and no apology or explanation from Dr. Conner or PSC staff. Never again ☹️

Outpatient surgery April 2020 and the entire staff was both professional and accommodating. Anne Marie, in-take nurse I believe, was a pleasure and made me feel very comfortable ahead of my procedure. The whole process was efficient and well managed.

I have insurance. I was told I had to pay money upfront on top of my insurance claim, and no partial payment of that amount was allowed which was less than 500.00. This is insane. You have insurance, and deny a patient a procedure, with insurance and you can’t make payments. They did before. This is unfortunate.

I have to say after reading some of the reviews I was just a little worried. I went here this past Tuesday and had a 9:45 appt. and I was in at 9:30 and the staff, nurses were all 110%. The two main Nurses, Jill and Beth are the best. After being there it was not the same place that people reviewed before me, looks like Palmetto Surgery Center was getting a bad rep by some. Let just say thank you to all the people there, You all ROCK!!!

If you go here, plan to pay in cash or file your own insurance claim. Four months after surgery, they still havent sent supporting docs to my insurance company. The claim was denied and they wont return my calls.

I received a procedure today at PSC. The reviews had me weary but I must say all of the staff was friendly. My buddy and I joked around with the staff/nurses in the prep room for awhile before surgery. Im still recovering but it seems to be a successful operation. I would definitely return for more business if I needed to. I also was about 45 minutes early and they got me in prep about 10 minutes early.

I figured I would post and tell the good things about this place. I almost didnt come here because of reviews from years ago but I did because Dr. Colosi preforms his surgeries here. The staff was wonderful, the ladies working at the front desk, positive attitudes at 6:30 in the morning. They greeted my son made him feel extremely comfortable. The nurses in the pre op/post op waiting area were also very pleasant, kind, and friendly. They made my 3 year old feel safe and comfortable. The only reason I didnt give five stars was because the anestheseolgist was the only person who rushed when he came in and didnt take any time as if its being there this morning was a hassle or inconvenience to him. Overall though I liked this surgery center. Thank you all for your wonderful services.

Im editing my review after receiving a call back from a genuinely concerned staff member at Palmetto Surgery Center (PSC) who plans to address my concerns. I also gave this review an extra star for her efforts. The following is my initial post with some edits to clarify and/or add info: Wish I had read prior reviews before agreeing to have my surgery at PSC. To compare them to other facilities, I had surgery at Palmetto Health Richland (PHR) 2 years ago and cant say enough wonderful things about everyone I encountered, and no, Im not related to anyone at either facility. Theses are the reasons I will not return to PSC: One positive encounter was the lady who greeted me; however, the lady who checked me in could have been warmer, and it goes downhill from there. When I preregistered by phone, no one informed me I would have to arrange for someone to be with me for 24 hrs. after surgery; however, when I was brought back to my bed, I was told it was imperative that I have this arranged or the MD would have to approve otherwise. At this point, despite how nice I was, the staff did not feel especially comforting considering I was going to have surgery with anesthesia. In fact, I felt a little like a number. The only patient scheduled before me had not shown, which I would think gave them enough time not to feel rushed. This was the day of the eclipse and they were closing at noon. I joked during preregistration that they might wheel me out to the curb and leave me at noon. Well, it was almost reality and it was frankly disturbing how I was treated after surgery. I felt someone repeatedly POKING HARD on my chest harshly saying, Wake up Ms. ****. Open your eyes. Wake up... At PHR, I remember hearing someone say, Shes waking up and talking kindly to me as I opened my eyes and said, Thank you. At PSC, I wasnt asked about my pain level and had to ask for pain med. I understand my MD did not wait for me to wake up to tell me how things went, but I remember having to ask staff if everything went ok. I was quickly told to get dressed... before I got my bearings straight. At PHR, they took time to assess my pain level, nausea, strength, etc. and asked me all along how I was doing, to be sure I was as comfortable as possible. At PSC, I felt rushed to leave while wobbly and wasnt offered assistance with getting in the chair. The last I vaguely remember was being taken to the car and again not being offered assistance with getting in the car. PHR staff called me early the day after surgery to check on me and were concerned about the pain in my tooth, saying it was likely from the tube and would be covered by PHR, which they did 100%! I sent PHR a thank you note for their most compassionate and competent treatment! Its 2:40 pm the day after surgery and apparently no one has called to check on me. I called PSC to tell them about this post, and the nice lady I recalled at check-in agreed to pass the info.along. Ive already told 3 people about this disappointing experience and will continue to warn others how they may be treated at PSC, but thank you to my MD, the anesthesiologist and anyone I may have overlooked who was kind!

I had the misfortune of getting Kelley for my nurse. She was not only unkind but did not follow through with needed medication/Rx changes that needed to be made. I woke up from anesthesia in a panic attack. I tried to remove a drip rag taped above my lip and Kelley screamed at me. It is just gauze with tape and could be reapplied. I told her that I was having a panic attack as my teeth chattered. She then lectured me about telling the anesthesiologists about my anxiety before surgery. I have had surgery before, and never had an attack. Prior surgeons seemed more aware of SLE/Lupus and always gave me prednisone. I noted that opioids would not work on me, and that I would need something for inflammation. She was antagonistic, said do you want me to bother the doctor during surgery? I said please have him call something in for me as soon as he is through. I noted again that I would swell up with the Lupus. She did not do this. Her supervisor and the doctors office verified this today. The opioids they pumped into me had no affect on the pain. I tried one prescribed opioid because medical staff refused to get back with me. I swelled up. My lips and face swelled up. My lips split in places due to the swelling. My husband says he confronted the doctor before we left about my meds. being wrong, but he did nothing (seemed to disregard him). Did nobody care? If I had not found a few left over prednisone from an old taper, my face would have continued to swell. It took 3 &1/2 days to be able to go to the bathroom, but it was painful. Urination became increasingly painful. This should not have happened. During my first visit with the doctor, I clearly noted that opioids did not work for me. If I did not have left over prednisione, I would have been in the emergency room over the weekend. Not everyone is the same and responds the same way to medication. Listening to people would be helpful. I called the doctor’s office again today. Another individual named Kelley noted they had my messages, but no one called me back. She seemed to think it wasnt their responsibility to call me back. I cancelled my next appointment. This lack of follow-through was very upsetting. Kelley told me that I would have to come in again for a new prescription for pain. I was in pain all weekend. The inflammation is another issue. I did not have to come in for meds for inflammation. She got snippy and said go to urgent care if your issues are so bad. I did end up receiving emergency services today. The inflammation was due to a reaction to opioids pumped into me at surgery. They had to catheterize me. The pain was excruciating. Not once did the Doctor’s office call to see how I was doing. They never returned a call regarding the wrong prescription. I was left talking to a secretary who told me to go elsewhere. I will not be back.

There was a lack of communication by staff and scheduling. We were not told there was a special parking place for patients nor were we told that a 6:30am appointment really meant the doors didnt open till 6:35am. The first impression of the staff is that they are very rude.
