I will be graduating from the nursing program in June and I could not have done it without the amazing teachers I have had! South has an amazing staff that care about you succeeding and are always available to help. Their program is fast paced and requires a great amount of dedication to it but that is the main reason I chose South. It has allowed me to graduate earlier than a traditional program would. Another great thing about the nursing program at South is how much clinical practice we are able to participate in! I have learned how to perform a variety of nursing skills through these practice hours and feel confident going into the nursing field :)

I’m currently a student there and my advisor went out on maternity leave which is completely fine. But I didn’t know she was going to be gone until my classes started and I had a scheduling issue. Called the school numerous times to get assistance and all you get is one voicemail to another voicemail. I regret ever enrolling in this school.

Absolute Worst! The Staffs dropping like flies. They dont even do their job. Only certain people can help you with certain things and if that person doesnt fix your problem, youre screwed. They blame a lot of things based on people not doing their jobs on the students. Kits are way overpriced. They raise the tuition without notifying students. If a teacher cannot teach a class or whatever the case may be, they will notify you (literally) a day before or the day of class that it has been cancelled and the only way you find out that someone else is teaching the class is noticing a name change on your schedule. If your financial aid doesnt come in, they will not notify you. A lot of things they will send you emails about claiming theyre still working on it. It doesnt take from April to November to get in transcript credits. All of your stuff comes in AFTER you have pulled out and once you have done that, they call and try to get you back in. AMAZING! ...Sucks that some of the teachers who teach there are really great teachers.

This school was good for me because I didnt want to go to a huge school with huge classes(and be just a number). This school is able to do one on one if you are struggling.I was in the Graphic Design program and earned my BA of Science. I absolutely loved my Graphic Design Professors. They push me to the limit, and made me become a better designer all in all. I nailed my first job after nine months of being done with school. Overall I had a blast at the school and met some awesome friends and professors. This school is great for students who like to be comfortable in a class and not just a number. When I went for a tour of the school they were very helpful to show me around and take me to the next person to get me started. I was 18 and just graduated High school. I didnt know anything about Financial Aid or loans or how they worked. Nothing. But they really did their best to help guide me along the way. I loved my financial aid manager, he was the best and would break everything down for a normal person to understand. All in all the school is amazing.

I’ve had a problem with Financial aid since I started this school. When I reach out for answers the only they will tell me is the central processing office is working as fast as they can which was 5 months ago. I tried to get a better answer then they working on it and the staff have started ignoring my emails or I simply can’t get through to any one

The amount of money you pay compared to the quality of education you get is ridiculous. If you get a 77 its worth a 70 once its put into your GPA because of their letter grade system, also your credits wont transfer how convenient for them. If you want to do nursing go some where else, wont deal with non sense. This school has been trying to get that program straight for years and they still cant, not worth it and there will be plenty of people in the near future telling you the same.

Amazing instructors! Mrs. Carmelita who is in admissions is really kind and helpful, but the registrars are probably overworked which is mostly likely why you can barely get in touch with them and the Dean, the one time i spoke with her she was very condescending and uncaring. This school is way too expensive for the many issues it has pertaining to the admin.

If I could give this school ZERO stars I would do so, if you or anyone you know is even considering coming to this school run. They act like they will help you with your academics and even after and that’s a total lie! I attended 16-17 and while attending could reach anyone I needed to talk to now that I have left nobody seems to return phone calls not even the higher up people. I’ve made 6 calls in the past month and have gotten no return call I’ve left messages for almost every department I’ve needed and haven’t been able to reach anyone not only that THEY HOLD YOUR TRANSCRIPT hostage I’ve called for it they sent me through all these hurdles and I still haven’t received it ( they claim it’s due to a balance ) but that’s a lie I keep track of my payments 😌 They are money hungry they only want your money not your success please run and advise anyone else to run as well

I wish I could give this school zero stars. I used to go to the school for a year. It was good as first but they went down hill. I had a gi bill so everything was paid for. I ended up getting really sick so I contacted the school to drop my classes which took FOREVER BECAUSE THEY CANT ANSWER THE PHONES. They then waited to drop my classes after the drop period so I would have to pay the school. This place is a joke. The teachers are jokes and all they care about is how much money they can make off you.

Great experience with learning and absolutely LOVED my professors. I have not had such a pleasurable experience with contacting individuals other than my mentors/professors. Namely the registrar and those in the care of transcripts. Never able to make contact with a person via phone. I simply have decided to make the trip out to campus. Thankfully I live locally, I hate the thought of those who do not. South U-Columbia PLEASE improve on your ability to be contacted.

LITERALLY THE WORST SCHOOL ON THE PLANET. The nursing program is awful and beyond unorganized. I do not even have one good thing to say about my experience. The financial aid office completely sucks and doesnt know what they are doing. I only came here to get a degree faster than a normal program but would never recommend that to anyone. Ive had several people ask my opinion on coming here but I told them to run far away! Nothing but a headache from day 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would not pay attention to the poor reviews first off. Ive never had so much help and opportunity as I have with South-Columbia campus.Spent years at Midlands Technical College not knowing when I would get into the nursing program. My life has taken off with South University Columbia. The best staff, instructors, and experience! Will graduate in 2018 and Im so proud to be a South University nursing student! South is helping me live my dream!

I wish I could give it a negative star. Minus a few staff and one instructor this school is pure garbage. They are money hungry. Genuinely, they dont care about the students. I would be military friendly too if I knew I could get thousands of dollars and tack on any other expense of my choosing. I regret ever picking up my phone to entertain the thought of giving this college a chance. The level of disgust I have with the college is off the charts. Total waste of time and money. I do hope no one else has to experience the foolery that this college gives.

This would actually be a no star but it’s not possible... I would never recommend this school. They tell you what you have to come out of pocket an then you might want to add thousands I talked to Tennia walker on one maybe two occasions only because I initiated the contact myself... I uploaded what was needed to get my aid an how convenient it was never received. But yet was never notified... asked to withdraw from my classes because when they begged me to enroll because they work with you I was weeks from having a baby an when my daughter was in the nicu an I knew it was to much to handle no one would withdraw me as I asked an so I had two withdraw fails at the end of the courses.... of course they claim the debt is valid so I went from a 200 balance to 5700 because my paperwork was never received. Or they received the wrong year but yet I never even got that tax information from the government that’s how I know they lied... I would not recommend this place it’s a scam they get you in to suck you dry.

Avoid any South campus or online program. Currently in their NP program and it is an absolute nightmare. The grading practices are inconsistent, instructors will lie to cover themselves blaming everything on policies that my academic advisor says does not exist. I have reached out for help to multiple instructors was told “I should not have to help you with anything this is grad school. I am disturbed by the fact you would even ask for help.” I have made these same attempts for help to my academic advisor who laughs at me while I am on the phone and tells me to reach out to my instructor. I wish I could say my situation was unique but I have three co-workers in the same program and each have multiple stories of the same sort of ridiculous interactions.

Giving two stars because the first couple of years were wonderful. Enter nursing program and was hit with discrimination and racist teachers. Clinicals were an absolute joke with instructors that sat on their butts all day and were eventually fired. Was never taught a single lesson in med surge 1. In med surge 2 test questions were out dated from 6/7th edition books that we as students never even had. And when questions were challenged we were told they would be looked at and changed and never were. Not to mention those who were making the same grade as myself that happened to have a different color skin were passed last second for bs reasons. If you are an LPN do not go to this school because you will automatically be frowned upon and told that “LPN’s are the worst students.” 45,000$ in student loans for absolutely nothing.

Teachers are great but the veterans financial aid Warren weyer doesnt care about his job or students. I felt like I was training him. each time there was an issue he was not knowledgable or helpful. Let me quote him as long as south gets their money, the rest of your financial aid is none of our business, oh but it is and its your job

If You are a Soldier or Veteran DO NOT ATTEND South University. This School will find any excuse possible to not award You credit for completed classes if you attempt to transfer to another school. If You are not awarded credit for your classed VA will issue a DEBT against Your benefits leaving out of school until the mess is sorted out. South University does not care about You, Your education or Your service to this Country, they only want to make sure they can continuously cash in on your hard earned benefits. I am a Active Duty Army Sergeant First Class and have nothing to gain from writing this review. I just want to warn my Brothers & Sisters in Arms about this organization that has joined the ranks of thousands of others that will go to the lowest levels to rob Soldiers and Vets of hard earned benefits. Please acknowledge this warning and stay way from South University.James Ealey

DO NOT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL!!!The tuition is over priced for no reason (they have one computer lab, no café, and no activities for students). I graduated from here in 2013 (only because I had so many credits I decided to finish) and could not find a job. I received a BS degree in Health Science...no one in the healthcare industry has ever herd of it. I was blessed enough to happen to find a job at a lab but what I do does not even require a degree. I have so many student loans because of this school and have nothing to show for it. They do not even offer internships to help you get experience in the field you are studying. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME GOING HERE.....if youre going to get student loans and have to pay them back, go to a school that is legit.
