The first time I visited The Vista was yesterday as I spent a long day moving my daughter in for graduate school at a local university. Suffice it to say I was looking to relax and have a peaceful dinner. We visited the Mellow Mushroom. Service was good and food was relatively good although not consistent with other Mellow Mushrooms that I have visited. My primary complaint, however is related to parking availability and associated charges. We found that the lot closest to the eating establishment cost $10 to park. Furthermore that lot was full at the time and an employee (parking attendant) with Vista Parking informed me that we could park in the adjacent lot for free. Being my first time in the area I followed the employees advice since presumably this person was giving out accurate information regarding his company. After we finished our meal we came back to our vehicle, which was parked in the adjacent lot, only to find a $35 citation and an associated Vista Parking traffic officer named Aaron handing out parking citations. I was very cordial in asking Aaron questions about the citation. When I mentioned the fact that his employee informed me that the lot I was in was a free lot Aaron informed me that his employee was incorrect and he would need to advise the employee of his incorrect information. Needless to say this left a lasting impression on me and I dont know if Ill go back to The Vista for any reason. I would strongly advise all businesses associated with this area to make certain they AND THEIR CLIENTS are aware of parking policies and associated citations/fines. For the record I paid the fine because frankly its not worth spending the time fighting it and, based upon officer Aarons explanation mentioned above, I do not think any appeal would be successful. Just consider this a PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT for anyone dealing with Vista Parking Services.
