This organization is made up of incredible staff coordinating a remarkable community of volunteers that help families in crisis. I am in awe of the resources they surround both the families in crisis and the volunteers that serve them. We have personally served as a volunteer host family to take care of precious kids while mom or dad get back on their feet. Safe Families helped us coordinate child care for each day we worked and even had other volunteers that brought us meals while we served these wonderful kids. Love being a part of this shining example of Christs love for the world.

I am SO glad I am a CHOSEN Foster Parent! The support is insurmountable. Each family is assigned a Treatment Worker and theres always someone on-call to assist. If you have a God given calling to help the most vulnerable children, this IS the agency for you. Ive been talked off many a ledges, when Ive wanted to quit, someone at the agency has given me the motivation to keep going! There may come a time when a child needs a higher level of care, but we have to welcome a child as if they were OUR OWN and do our best. There will be difficult times, thats when your bonus child feel safe and that you wont give up on them. You know how your OWN child will be good at school and then come home and act a fool (LOL-oh is that just me?) its because youre their safe place! I am so blessed to have welcomed over 20 children in the last 3.5 years! My son is 20 and has been with us since he was 17. Hes been a blessing to us and we dont even remember life before him! We say his biological mom was the surrogate! I am truly blessed to be apart of BUILDING FAMILIES FOR CHILDREN!

My family and I have volunteered with Safe Families for Children for about ten years. We have hosted six children over the years, as well as mentored other host families. We believe that the Lord wants his church to step in and provide Biblical hospitality for families in crisis, ideally preventing children from having to enter foster care or enduring abuse or neglect. Almost all of the children we hosted have returned to live with their biological parents. Safe Families offers support to the parent while the children are being cared for. The staff have become like family to us - believe me, they are not doing this work for the paycheck, they love these families. I dont do reviews often, but I cant miss this opportunity to share about the work this organization is doing.

This is a great organization. My family has volunteered with the Safe Families for Children program at BFC for the past several years and I am always impressed by how well run the organization is, how mission-driven and professional each employee is, and what a difference they are making in the lives of Marylanders. We are blessed to have this organization here!

As a member of one of the volunteer host families I can attest to the passion and commitment that BFC has for serving the community, the families it servers, and its volunteers. They are true to their mission and their calling is authentic and a pleasure to watch. Im grateful to help them in any way I can.

I am a previous employee of the agency and have recently returned as a consultant. I am proud of the work that was previously done and feel that the dedication and the christian values still continue today. My family and children benefitted as asylees from building families, it was an awesome experience back in 2017 January. I love and appreciate the love and concern that was shown. The lord continue to bless this organisation

They are kind and compassionate and help those who are in need

This agency is now called building families for children, theve change their name approximately 6 times. This agency is a disgrace to the services they provide for foster kids, and foster parents. As a foster parent working with this agency is a mess, unprofessional, dont want to pay foster parents stipend, you foster kids for 2 months and they promised to pay one month at the end of the 2 months and they wont pay, poor coordination and communication its a terrible, devastating experience with their services.
