Appointments to speak to psychiatrist should have been a virtual appointment. My girlfriend Janel B. Frazier tells me she has a male psychiatrist. Janel B. Frazier needs to have a female psychiatrist to talk to especially if it regards femine womanly matters that doesnt concern man. And my woman should not be going to mens offices in the back and shutting doors neither for interviews.

Ive never had a negative experience here. Everyone that Ive talked with has a wonderful personality and taken time to make me feel welcomed. My visits have always been on time. Even with the phone call visits, they are helpful, professional and courteous of my time. I am very thankful for them!

No one answers their phone, its one big game of phone tag. And if you do need something their doctor wont be there, no one communicates with the guardian only to schedule another appointment not about the progress of your child. Oh and if you do have a emergency on the weekends do not call the crisis line their is no doctor on call, just people to blow smoke up your butt. Find somewhere else in richland that takes your Insurance and save yourself the run around game.

This place does more damage than good. Mass majority of people that work here are a waste of space.God forbid you need to get ahold of your doctor or a doctor in general. Go elsewhere if you can.Honestly wish I could give less than 1 star.

Do not go or use. I have PTSD. This was not court ordered but their services were recommended. A phone assessment cost for a 45 minute phone conversation $661.00. They received paperwork from hospital and my doctor what diagnosis was...no brainer. They knew my insurance did not cover and that I did not have a job. They did not share what the cost of this “assessment” was going to be nor was anything discussed. I had another phone appt from a psychiatrist that NEVER put in order for meds and really did nothing in assessment other than encourage me to go in and attend group sessions, which I declined. I agreed to try zoom meeting therapy with a therapist that was useless and pointless. “Write down 3 happy memories”, which I did and she challenged. One phone session for 50 minutes of which 15 was spent rehashing last session and dealing with technical issues...$175.00. I had two meetings. I canceled future meetings with both. Again, I cannot emphasis enough that I stated clearly my insurance would not cover any of the treatments. I received a bill for $2,000. There were sessions on bill that I never had (I double checked by Cell phone bill records...no calls in or out). I called and challenged bill was told that “we don’t care about your cell phone records, our records dictate”. This place was zero help, zero compassion, insanely and outrageously expensive and unprofessional. Retroactively the business office suggested I apply for their reduced rate application, which from day one they were told my financial status. My assessment: you will wind up WITH PTSD from dealing with this center

My psychiatrist recommended that I consider a program Columbia Area Mental Health offered that she felt would be beneficial. However, knowing my resources are very limited - she advised I call and inquire about cost and if they would take my insurance.Cue the surreal: they do take my insurance, but they cannot tell me what the costs would be. They cite a range of $20-500+ per visit depending on what I need. I reference the specific services requested - the employee says she doesnt know what that is. I inform her its one of the services listed as being provided per their web site - and Im told she still doesnt know what it is and (apparently) cant be bothered to find out.In fairness? I imagine she was busy. Perhaps she was even new (I dont think so, but who knows). But if someone is calling for mental healthcare...it seems like following through on basic stuff like learning terminology and checking prices shouldnt be an unreasonable request - because the alternative is someone not receiving care they may well need out of fear of incompetent or lazy staff.

This is the worst place ever. I mean the hospital recommended this place and all Ive gotten was a bunch of b.s and high bills. They never call back wait to set up appointments then cancel them. Crazy my son has needed a prescription for over 6 months and I still as of this day been able to get the meds script. I was told to call the med line. Im like how when you all have never initially wrote the script you cant refill what you never filled. This is a waste of time and effort. I could say so much more but I done at this point. Go somewhere else to get your child help. This place is helpless. Excuse the typos if any.

I have been seeing Dr. Jane Alford and a woderful team of therapists for going on 3 years now. My life has been changed by the Strategies they teach and the love that they show to each patient. Even my mother has mentioned that she can tell the staff really care. From Miss Dee at the front desk to my Therapist to my nurse practioner, Dr Morrow. Remember, it takes effort, but there is help in this place and I believe Columbia will only get better.

After only 2 visits and a total time of approx 30 min trying to get help for my daughter, they referred her to go to another place. What a waste of time. Offered her no help however the lady did make a point to tell my daughter she was hard headed. Thanks for helping build her self confidence, you stupid idiot!

The front desk woman at this office was EXTREMELY rude, unprofessional, and UNHELPFUL. She repeatedly slung the glass door separating the office and the waiting area open, snatched a clip board out of my hand, and did not give us any information in regards to when we would see a counselor. Overall the front desk staff was loud, rowdy, and incredibly clueless as to professional workplace protocol and customer service. This is particularly sad since the office itself is working on aiding the public in a sensitive subject matter. Very disappointed in the service I received.

Checked in 10 minutes before appt time. 2 women working desk. Told us they would let the dr know. 40 minutes later went back up to desk asking when we would see dr. Told us they would check. Dr came out and said the check-in women didnt tell her. I asked checkin women why they didnt tell dr. We made an appt for a reason. They said it was a mistake. They certainly werent busy. Only 3 other people came in during that time. We were sitting right across from their windows so if they were doing their job they would have noticed us and realized something. Not good customer service at all. It didnt help my granddaughters mania or temperment. That rad not good. So my day is ruined again by incompetent people in state government . So if someone wants to contact me regarding this please feel free.

Very disappointed with this clinic! My daughter had an appointment at 2...ask front desk at 230 when we would be seen...front desk very rudely “oh she’s running behind, we will come out to get you when we are ready for you!” Should have left then! We are finally pulled back at 3 pm to do a telemedicine appt..phone kept disconnecting... you’d think they’d offer to reschedule... they did not...Matter of fact WE had to find the front desk lady to let her know hey the call ended 5 mins ago. Her reply “ okay..we already know!” Got to talk with. Psych all of 5 -10 mins out of an supposed 60 min appointment.. doesn’t matter because it was clear in that amount of time she had dignosed and was ready to prescribe antidepressants . When I voiced that I was uncomfortable giving my 14 year old Prozac. The Dr told my daughter “well doesn’t look like your getting any medication to help today” then the Dr preceded to say my daughter wouldn’t be seen again in this clinic if I chose to not accept the rx. She added in that I should hide all pills and sharp objects.. implying that if I didn’t medicate her I was putting her in danger! I’ll admit the thought of that made me caved and agree to her prescribing medication. Once I agreed the DR basically ended the conversation right there abruptly and called the medication in.. ok see you guys later! I’m not mad, I’m sad, why you may ask because my child was told by the school psychologist that she had to see this clinic to start/ continue counseling with her. Matter of fact my daughters 1st session of therapy at school didn’t start till I booked this appointment! So much for the cognitive behavioral therapy. Left with the impression that without accepting an Rx we wouldn’t receive any help.

The service of this organization is extremely disheartening. Nikki Haley cut funding to all mental health services in South Carolina, and as a result patients are treated as a caricature of themselves. Their existential experiences are diminished. The so called healthcare “professions” are like cheap mcdonalds ingredients as to the South Carolina mental health system. This is a travesty.
