I have completed the intakes from several other IOP and PHP eating disorder programs and none of them charged for their intakes to see if you would be a good match for their program. The body image center charged me for the intake. Then my insurance paid their part. Then I get a call from someone for the body image center stating I didn’t pay my 15 copay to them. I stated nobody told me there would be a fee for the intake to see if I wanted to start their program and if they thought I was a good fit for their program. . From trying other programs I imagined it was free until I started the program. The lady raised her voice to me stating did I ask if there was a change. It was my fault I didn’t ask . She answered for me that no I didn’t or else you would have known there was a change. She raised her voice again and again at me that I needed to pay the 15 dollars. I don’t appreciate being talked to in that way. All other program I was looking into didn’t charge to learn about there program. I wanted to warn other people about this because they blamed me and belittled me on the phone. That is not a way to get clients.

The Body Image Therapy Center in Columbia was the right fit for our daughter after her time in inpatient therapy.It was a good transition into establishing some normalcy after being in the hospital. We found the parent groups extremely helpful and allowed us to realize we were not alone. We also liked how parents were included with the meal time once/week. Please seek help if you even suspect an eating disorder in a loved one. The earlier the treatment, the better chance of long term recovery.

This is an amazing treatment center. I was treated here for an eating disorder and only have positive things to say about it! My family and I also went through extensive family therapy here and they too loved the experience. I could not have gotten better without this center and the family therapy they offer here helped tremendously. I would 100% recommend The Body Image Therapy Center to anyone seeking help for an eating disorder!

I went to the body image Therapy Center because I was having difficulties with my weight. I soon came to realize with the help of the fabulous staff that I suffer from an eating disorder. With the expert counseling, nutrition guidance, and the wonderful support I received, I can now say I am working my recovery from binge eating disorder. There are many other facets of this facility. I would recommend them highly for any issue someone may need help with.

I came to the body image therapy center over 5 years ago and had a wonderful experience learning more about myself, my disorder, and my recovery. I unfortunately had to stop treatment a few years after I started but I will always remember my time at the BITC. Andrew has a heart of gold and has always been a mentor in my life, while I was there and even after I left.

I have had a wonderful experience at BITC and would recommend the BITC team to anyone struggling with an eating disorder or any other type of self destructive behavior. I have been in therapy off and on for years and I am extremely pleased with my progress. The staff is very knowledgeable and personable, and you get a sense they really want you to succeed in your treatment. The atmosphere is very relaxed and inviting. I feel like Im coming to a second home at my sessions.I can say with confidence I have made the most progress since coming to BITC and my treatment there has been worth every minute and every penny. I believe you will not be disappointed if you give them a try.
