I have been a member of Liberty Family Medicine since its first year. I am very pleased with my decision to join.When I was looking for a new doctor, I had a concern about paying their monthly fee when I would perhaps not need to see the doctor that month but perhaps only once or twice a year. But I would soon realize this is NOT the way to look at the numbers.Motivation. At Liberty, you pay a flat fee, and they take care of your wellness needs but don’t always have to see you. I truly feel that they are caring for all my wellness needs. With a traditional fee-for-service doctor, you pay each time you see the doctor. So, what’s each of their motivation? Liberty’s is to keep you well; a traditional doctor is NOT to keep you well.Specialists. This will vary for your personal situation. I was seeing a few specialists a few times a year; sometimes more than my general practitioner. And when I did see a specialist of late, I had noticed what I call a doctor’s “express service”, where after a quick conversation they offer to “help” you make your next appointment and walk you out of the exam room leaving some of your questions unasked and unanswered. Dr. Gruender suggested that she could monitor my specific wellness needs in these specialist areas and she would know when to call in the specialists all as part of her overall service.Medication Costs. I have a few medications I take on a regular basis. My total medication costs at Liberty are cheaper for me than my old traditional plan’s co-pays. Please reread the last sentence again…I am so happy about this!Knowing what I know now any one of these reasons would have cinched my decision to join. But after a few years of I really like my doctor, am incredibly happy with my membership decision, and encourage you to consider joining!

Amazing and helpful staff, open lines of communication (calls, text, email any time about anything), and the best medication prices around.Went to get my prescriptions filled at a different nearby pharmacy, and it was $120; asked Liberty Family Medicine to do it there instead, and they got it all for me for $5.05.HIGHLY recommend them, absolute lifesavers!

Dr. Gruender is hands down the best primary care physician I have every seen in my 17 years in Columbia. As an RN, I tend to be quite picky in how I prefer to receive care. I absolutely hated going to the doctor before I joined Liberty Family Medicine and came under the care of Dr. Danielle Kelvas--so much so that I was actively deferring some necessary healthcare to the detriment of my body.Now under Dr. Kelvas expert care Im receiving the healthcare that I always wanted, in the time frame that I wanted it, and with the personal touch from Dr. Kelvas and the entire staff at LFM. I believe theyve actually saved me money as well, with the combinationof cheap labs, cheap meds and quick competent service. Liberty Family Medicine has been the best doctors office I have ever been to. The staff is all amazing and Dr. Kelvas has been great! She cares about her patients and really tries to get to know you to better help with your medical needs. Being able to text or email my dr about things is also a great added feature; a lot more convenient than trying to find time in my schedule to go for an in person appointment. But even when I’ve had to make appointments it’s been simple and they always get me in quick. I am glad we switched to LFM.

We’ve been using Liberty for about a month now and I have to say, it is PHENOMENAL! Dr. Gruender is very responsive and takes the time to stop, ask questions, and listen to her patients. She spent a full hour (or more) for each member of my family to get to know us and find out how she could help. In my intake, she was able to find ways to save me $30 per month on my prescriptions (which means that the $50 per month I pay to see her is really more like $20). Plus, she identified that the headaches that I’ve had for years were related to my eyesight and now my headaches are gone! I’ve also accessed her services after hours when I had an emergency come up and she was very responsive, caring, and helpful. She goes above and beyond to help her patients and I am SO grateful that we found her! This is the way that medical care should be. There are no hours spent in a waiting room full of sick people; they are ready for me as soon as I walk in. And if I only need a quick phone call or text message to get my answer, no need to come in at all. Everything about this place is amazing and I can’t recommend it highly enough!

Today I had my first appointment with Dr. Gruender. It was probably one of the best doctors visits Ive ever had. I showed up early cause you know you usually have to fill out a bunch of papers before hand, BUT I did not this time. She came out right at our appointment time. I know crazy! Once we got into her office she broke down everything she does here and how easy life was going to be. We went over everything! She didnt rush me, asked a million questions, and even recommended all natural remedies instead of just breaking out the old script book and sending me on my way. She actually took the time to go over my history and listened to what I said. Im so excited I found her.

As I have gotten to know Dr. Gruender, I have learned that she is very passionate about helping others and providing healthcare the right way: of the highest quality, personable and affordable. Finally a place that genuinely cares about their patients. Superlative practice in every way.

Libert Family Medicine is Columbia’s answer to the small town doctors’ clinic.-No insurance or catastrophic insurance:$600 paid over 12 months gives you, as needed, access to Dr. Gruender.This means you can see her as often as you want. No additional fees.-Compare to University of Missouri clinics which charge $100+ to see a doctor & $100+ to see the doctor in their clinic. (Yes you get double billed per visit w/ an MU doctor).And if you think Boone Hospital is an affordable alternative, you’d be wrong. Boone Hospital was taken over by a for profit management company.And now Boone Hospital also practices double billing.3 appointments vs 12 months of appointments.That math made my decision simple.-And in reference to the small town doctor.All labwork & tests are done as close to cost as possible.No bureaucrats with their own department to increase costs to gouge patients’ pocket books.Dr. Gruender runs the clinic.She’s her own boss and she passes the savings onto her patients.-Another saving she believes in:At cost or as close to cost as possible on prescriptions.And yes, this is less than the $10/prescription that all pharmacies offer on generics.IF Dr. Gruender cannot get your prescription, she will send you to a pharmacy that will charge you the least amount.-Finally Columbia has an option that for healthcare that doesn’t involve driving/flying back to you old home town.

This is an amazing clinic with an amazingly reasonable cost. Cant thank Dr. Gruender enough for meeting this need in our community.

I had hear really good things about Dr. Gruender and her practice but they all sounded too good to be true. Of course medical care can not cost $50 a month for an adult right? But YES IT CAN!!! We decided to make a switch to Dr. Gruender in January of 2018 and we could not be happier. Not only does she take excellent care of us, but she also does infants. We had a very rough go with illness for our two year old this season and Dr. Gruender went above and beyond to make sure our little man was good. We had countless doctors visits, countless prescriptions and she even would call in the afternoon to check up on him. ALL FOR THE SAME MONTHLY COST! If you have any doubts at all, just give it a try. You spend more on one meal eating out than an entire month with her practice. We had one urgent care visit at Womens and childrens on our little man that was $580 for a 5 minute visit WITH INSURANCE. Dr. Gruender goes the extra mile to make sure the medication is needed, its affordable and she usually has the medication in stock at a fraction of the cost compared to the pharmacy. One of our kids antibiotics was $58 at Walgreens. Dr. Gruender sold us the exact same stuff for $15! You can not go wrong with Dr. Gruender. You will save a ton of money to cover the entire family and have the best care you will have ever had, guaranteed.
