Dr. Prakash, is a jewel and I wouldn’t trade her for nothing in the world, however, the methods of the front desk, was totally disturbing, no one should arrive at the doctors office, and be told that you have to pay bill from 2017; especially after having an appointment for almost a month and receiving all of the email, text message and phone, and no one saw fit to reach out and say Miss Powell you have a outstanding bill with us, from 2017, will you be able to make a payment, but not only that, that’s was my third visit and no one said anything, and top it all off when I was last there, I was told I had outstanding balance on the book that needed to be paid, so I told the young lady to take what was owed, so imagine my surprise today to arrive and be hit with you have an outstanding balance, when I was told that during my August visit. Please find a way to notify customers before arriving, and being hit with this, my blood pressure was truly raised when I got to the back.

Front desk lady was awful, rude and made several mistakes. Dr. Castillo was fine but billing was and still is a nightmare. I keep getting bills from a procedure that was over 6 months ago. Billing department acts clueless and says its the last bill, but I keep receiving more. I am at $2k now for a simple procedure. Just be sure you ask ahead of time how much it will cost because even with insurance its costing a fortune. Experience totally ruined it for me and I will not be returning.

Best doctors visit I’ve had in a long time. Dr. Prakash listened to what I had to say and was really thorough in her testing and explanations and when devising a plan moving forward. I’m very pleased!

I had a procedure yesterday and it went well. After I got out of the procedure room, a nurse just kept on saying “try to open your eyes, try to get dress.” This was RIGHT after I regain consciousness and I could not even sit up straight. She wanted to rush me out of the bed immediately after the sedation is starting to wear off. After many tries and pressure, I managed to get out in 15 minutes, but couldn’t really walk straight.It should be reasonable to allow me at least 20 mins to get myself together, not trying kick me out right away after waking up??? I had a similar procedure at another clinic that allowed me to stay in the recovery room longer until I am more alert and awake. No rush, no pressure, much better experience!

Dr. Prakash was very attentive and focused and took into consideration all my conditions when developing a treatment plan.

This is an office I always enjoy visiting, from the front desk to the practitioners. I always leave with an understanding of where my health is at and a plan to go forward. I highly recommend Gastro Center of Maryland!

New Patient - I met with Dr. Rashti on Wednesday. His attention to detail, his concern and patience is to be commended. He was very concerned and took the time to thoroughly understand my concerns. Its been a while sense Ive had a physician of his caliber. Totally impressed with this practice!

I was referred here by a family member. My experience with this office from start to finish was wonderful. Staff are friendly and patient. I felt like Dr. Prakash listened and then prescribed the best treatment possible. Highly recommended!

I recently became a patient of Dr. Prakash I immediately felt comfortable with her professional response to my concerns. She told me what action plan she wanted to take to determine what problems could be happening in my digestive tract. Both the administrative staff and Nurse Diane said Welcome to Gastro Center of Maryland to me as I was being serviced. I found the office to be very friendly and welcoming. I am looking forward to a continuing a positive working relationship with the center.

Update May 19, 2021 - Just removed another star... Today I called at 11:50 am to confirm something for my procedure scheduled in a couple weeks. The person answering the phone said really fast there are several people ahead of you, hold and click I was on hold. 5 mins after waiting on hold I was forwarded to voicemail at 11:55 am. Most doctors offices close around 12 pm for lunch so I was actually calling to see if there was a wait like usual or if they were able to answer a question real quick. Had the person answering the phone, not rudely put me on hold without waiting for a response, I would have just asked if it was better to call back later. Since this experience happened instead, I decided to update this review.Original review: I really wish I could rate them higher... but unfortunately the attitude of the lady who just answered the phone has prompted a low rating and this isnt the first time.I see Dr. Rosenbloom, he is great! I see a naturopath as well as traditional doctors as Ive felt like Ive had to take my health into my own hands recently to feel good. There are tests that naturopath doctors do that traditional doctors dont. When I ask questions about tests Ive taken with my naturopath doctor I greatly appreciate that he is the type of doctor who is honest enough to say when he doesnt know something and doesnt let the ego get in the way like a lot of doctors Ive met in the past. He also isnt the type of doctor who will just push medications on you which is very important to me.Typically the staff Ive met have been friendly but on multiple occasions, the person Ive talked to on the phone has a serious attitude problem. Im not sure if its the same person every time..... but as I tell all people in customer service who have an attitude, if you are so miserable with your life and/or job that you sound like you have a major stick up your a** 24/7 maybe you need to rethink your job to one where your job isnt customer service related. I would change this to 5 stars if I never had to speak with them on the phone again and could just schedule everything online or if I could get the direct number to each office so I can figure out who NOT to talk to.Ive stopped seeing many great doctors with horrible front desk staff and I really hope I dont have to stop seeing Dr Rosenbloom due to this.

Monica Lovins is by far the BEST doctor I have ever seen. I have been trying to solve my stomach issues for years and finally was lucky enough to see Monica who had an answer for me within the first few weeks of seeing her. She is the most kind, caring doctor I have ever seen. If I could give her a higher rating than the one provided I would. Her service is impeccable and her level of knowledge is unmatched. For anyone seeking help regarding stomach issues Monica is the BEST person to see. I will never change doctors as her service is ALWAYS at the highest level.

I am Patient of Dr. Prakash. Dr Prakash take times to explain everything, great listener. make me feel cared for and very knowledgeable.

The medical care was great when I visited. The billing department is a bunch of crooks. I paid my bill the day I received care and was assured I was paying the amount in full. 4 months later I received another bill from them, I called and asked about it and they said there had been some insurance changes and assured me that the current bill was the last bill and I was paying in full. 4 months after THAT (so 8 months after my initial treatment) I received yet another bill for the same procedure. I have been fighting this bill for some time now, but have decided to go ahead and pay it. However, the billing department staff are either liars or incompetent and I fully expect to receive yet another bill after this one is paid.

I just left this location this afternoon at 3:00pm. Dr Rai, My Nurse Jordan, and Anesthesiologist Donny all did a great job taking care of me when I went for my colonoscopy on 1/12/2021. Big kudos to all three of these staff membersThe reason for my three star rating is because of the staff member at the front desk named Karen. She has a bad attitude. If you are unhappy working for Gastro Centers of MD and are going to continue having an attitude and being sarcastic with patients like you were this morning with me saying “You’re early” and “I see” then you shouldn’t be working there at all. You need to put in your two week notice and find another job Karen. I work in customer service. You don’t talk to patients like that. I don’t care if you’re having a bad day

This was my first visit with Dr. Prakash but I can tell you that I absolutely love her. Her demeanor is just awesome. She was patient and took time to explain things to me. Shes got a good sense of humor and comes across as just real. The office staff was awesome as well. This was a refreshing change from other offices I have visited. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I not a huge fan of having scopes shoved into my body cavities but Gastro Center and Dr. Prakash make it almost something to look forward to. Lol.

I had an amazing experience with Dr. Prakash who listened to my concerns and provided thorough care. Dr. Prakash answered all of my questions and encouraged me to call if I needed anything. I was really nervous to visit because past doctors (in other states) have dismissed my concerns simply chalking it up to Im too young. It was nice to have someone listen and provide reassurance. So glad to have Dr. Prakash for my digestive needs!!

I never made it to my visit. On the first day of scheduling, I encountered a rude front desk staff member. I ended up cancelling my appointment all together because of her. If I am a new patient and you cant even give a good first impression and you are rude over the phone several times, I would never trust the office with my health. Beware.

Dr. Prakesh, Nurses and staff are kind, informative and provided education that is easy to understand. Dr. Prakesh gives you an opportunity to explain your symptoms, and will clearly address any additional questions or concerns about test/procedures.

Dr. Prakash is amazing. I’m so glad I stumbled across this practice. I came in for a second opinion. I’m glad I made that choice because with the help of her changing my diet I’m finally starting to feel better. Knowing what triggers my stomach makes my day worth wild. Not fearing my day is ruined. My visit on 2/12 was so informative and relaxing. I misjudged Dr. Pia in my last comments. I now realized I jumped to an unpleasant conclusion when I could have spoken to the Dr. before posting a very negative review. I apologized and can definitely say I have found a Gastro Dr. that is working for my best interest. You will not be disappointed.

Dr. Castillo is knowledgeable, insightful, and great at explaining things in detail. Also, he has great bed side manner. I would highly recommend him to anyone. He is truly phenomenal!

Dr. Castillo was great but the front desk lady ruined the experience for me. I walked in and walked up to the lady, her name is Carlene I believe. I said hi, she glanced at me and didnt say anything. I stood there for 2 minutes and then the lady next to her signed me in. What really upset me was Carlene greeted people before me and after me but completely ignored my existence. When the nurse called me in, I told her about it and she defended Carlene by saying Maybe she didnt hear you If she didnt hear me, she definitely saw me so theres no excuse to treat anyone that way. Like I said, Dr. Castillo was great. Carlene, the front desk lady, just ruined the experience for me.

Dr. Rai and his staff provides very good service. They have always been pleasant and kind when I have come to into the office. I was pleased that Dr. Rai took the time to explain my diagnosis and options for treatment. It is good to know that my physician wants what is best for me.

I am completely satisfied with my visit to the Gastro Center of Maryland. Dr. Prakash was extremely interested in my health and well-being. The staff was courteous and friendly.

Dr Castillo is great but the staff is horrible. I went in for a procedure and they were running significantly behind. The nurse in the middle of prepping me takes a personal phone call on her cell while trying to administer care. That seems mild but my experience from there only gets worst. Twice I had to call because I needed assistance with my medications, twice I didn’t get a return call and was met with attitude from the staff. On the last call I had to tell the medical assistant that the tone she was taking with me was inappropriate and she needed to try again. She was talking over me and trying to rush me off the phone without giving me the care that I needed. The office manager in the middle of all this took no accountability for how her team handles customers. Currently, I’m waiting for Dr Castillo to return so that I can get my results and leave, which he said would take 7-10days and they now say 3 weeks.

This staff members are always friendly, efficient and professional. Dr. Prakash is wonderful and I trust her completely. She has always been there for me when I needed her. I always leave there feeling grateful, informed, and respected.

This is one of the worst medical practices I have ever experienced. They lost lab results and then simply decided to not obtain them and provide me the necessary medical advice and direction needed. I spoke with several members and staff of the practice about my experience and none of them seem to really care about their own patients that need medical care these people should not be practicing medicine. I honestly would not trust anyone in this practice to remove garbage from my home, they are not to be trusted. I have no idea how they have some of the other ratings except to think their from friends and family members of the doctors and staff at the practice. Do yourself a huge favor and stay away and let others know too.

Dr Rai and his staff are great. They work with you so you will have a happy smile. The folks at the front check in desk are great as well. They make you feel right at home. In this time of the world gone a muck its nice to have someone like this make you feel comfortable when you most need it.

I had a great experience at this office. I was there for 2 1/2 hours but not really waiting - First I was with he nurse and the PA (forgot her name but she is amazing!) and the Doctor. They were very informative and thorough. They have an onsite lap corp to get testing done with so it was very convenient. The ladies that work the front desk so busy yet are very friendly and nice. I enjoyed both the PA and Dr. Rai very much. He told it like it is and I needed that.

Friendly staff. Waiting areas are a bit cramped. I was comfortable during the consult with the nurse and Dr. Prakash. The doctor was very thorough in her explanations of procedures we were going to schedule and even explained every stop I needed to make in the office, after leaving the exam room, which made the appointment go much more smoothly.

I did not have a good experience at this practice. The reception staff is very unhelpful and unwilling to pass along messages to the doctors, and the doctors are clearly too busy with the number of patients to give genuine individual care.My first visit I witnessed reception lie to a patient that the doctor I was about to see was in surgery. She was only taking lunch. Later on, I had blood work done and had test results that could imply a diagnosis of Celiac disease. After seeing these, I was very concerned and tried to get in contact with my doctor. I called 3 or 4 times in two weeks before I finally got a call back. Its unclear whether this was reception failing to pass along messages, or the doctor ignoring my messages.Initially she was unconcerned about the results, but after explaining my experiences with GERD and foods I know to avoid (all containing gluten), she said she would have reception call me in a few months (she was going on maternity leave) to schedule an endoscopy. I never received a call back. I recently went to another doctor who immediately scheduled me an endoscopy and have had a much better experience since. Needless to say I will not be returning to this practice. Doctors need to care about their patients, and the reception staff should reflect the integrity of the practice.

Dr. Prakash was so helpful and sweet. She listened and actually gave solutions and prescribed medications to start taking steps needed to feel better. After previous Gastro doctors being a waste of time and money and not listening to my needs, Dr. Prakash was just a really amazing change. Highly recommend!!!

Very friendly and professional from the moment I walked in until the moment I left.

I saw Dr. Rai. He was compassionate as always. The nurses were kind. I get an Entyvio infusion for the treatment of Crohns every 8 weeks at the infusion clinic. The infusion nurse always makes me feel comfortable. The other patients in the infusion clinic are great, also. The symptoms of my Crohns disease is much better.

Dr. Rai is a very knowledgeable, compassionate, and trusted physician. Im so happy to belong to his practice. The staff is also friendly and professional, when youre at the Gastro Center of Maryland, youre in good hands! I recommend them.

I was satisfied with my treatment.It was easy to get an appointment and Dr. Prakash did not minimize my issues. I was seen about 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time, but thats par for most doctors.

My experience was great! The staff was friendly and helpful. Dr. Prakash was amazing! She was warm, courteous and professional and she made me feel at ease. It is hard finding a good doctor these days but I believe I have one with Dr. Prakash.

The office staff was friendly and efficient. My appointment was on time and I felt that I mattered to the staff and the doctor.

I really liked Dr. Prakash. The office staff was very friendly and helpful. The doctor was very knowledgeable and listened to me and my concerns.

The run people in and out of this practice like cattle. Standing room only, everyone that comes in is getting a colonoscopy. They then send you to the next waiting area for blood, and then schedule the procedure. I am shocked the fire department has not shut it down, stacks of boxes and paper everywhere. Billing is all outsourced, have fun with that. The dr is in net work, office is billed out of network, its a mess. If you manage to speak with the very unpleasant, woman who handles billing, it wont get you anywhere, so I wouldnt waste you time. Dr. Rosenbloom seems very nice, and concerned, but I will not be going back.

Great place they take good care of you - a bit busy at times may need to get a bigger office and more phones but had a great experience with the Doctor and the nurses during my procedure; they make you feel comfortable and care for you.

I suffered for 5 years with crohns disease, unknowingly. I saw 3 different gastro specialist in my area within that time. None would listen to me. I came across gastro centers of maryland. They diagnosed me within 5 months and fought for the right medicine some months after that. I dont ever remember feeling this wonderful in my life! Thanks to God and the wonderful doctors here!!! Thank you so much!!!

I recently had a procedure conducted at Gastro Center of Maryland, where they were fully aware of my insurance. They scheduled me for a procedure, proceeded to inform me my insurance covered the procedure, only to be presented with a bill on my next visit. They did not take the time to go over my options before hand and inform me that I would be responsible for a portion of the procedure. Very unprofessional.Dr. Pria is very nice and knowledgeably, but the office staff and management practice is sub par. I would not recommend this office to anyone.

Appointment was on time. Everyone is professional & courteous. My needs were addressed during the appointment.

Dr. Prakash deserves 5 stars but I gave Gastro Center of MD 1 star because of the front desk personnel, Diana. She was ultra rude, unprofessional, and just plain ole nasty. I went to the ER on Friday morning, it is now Monday morning and Im still in pain; I was letting Diana know all of this and asked if I could be seen sometime today. Diana said she would rely the message and Prakash was booked all day. Of course no one called back so I called again and Phyllis answered this time. She went the extra step to find the doctor and let her know, hey one of your patients is not doing well instead of just saying shes booked and busy. The office is not big at all. Thank you Phyllis for going the extra mile! Maybe they should give Diana some compassion and empathy classes, because she definitely lacks tact and skill in that area.

The staff there are one of a kind they make you feel great and at home they are the best in the world along with the doctor.

The Center itself is pretty good, I was treated well there when I had a procedure. Unfortunately, the Dr was unable to determine what the problem was and I finally found another doctor who could.The horrible part of the center is a few things:They are made up of different sections so you are never sure whom will be billing you and you begin to get the feeling that they are all billing you simultaneously for the same thing. Plus its difficult to match those bills with your health EOBs to see if you actually have to pay for the services.They have different providers that arent all covered with the same insurance providers so you might get a really nasty bill for a provider that you had no choice but to use (like anesthesia which is kind of necessary for some procedures!)Their billing: We had a bill that I could not confirm through our insurance but was going to pay anyway. I sent in the payment coupon with my information but one of my numbers was hard to read (like was it a 7 or a 9) instead of calling us about it, they mailed it back! I called but got no response. 3 months later, Id forgotten about it and suddenly I get a letter, threatening being sent to collections. They stated Id been sent numerous bills (Id gotten NONE since Id tried to pay it) and it demanded payment by 1/26/16 but I got the letter in 2/1/16!Not only is the billing department -whichever of the multiple companies they use - unable to pick up a phone to ask a question, they arent able to properly use a calendar!So while the center is fine, I would avoid this place because their billing practices are terrible. When you call to ask a billing question, you can never get a person, you get a recorded message that directs you to call 7 different billing providers depending on what youre calling about. youre so confused in the end youll just pay the bill to be done with them!

Without question the worst, most disorganized, sloppy, medical office I have ever encountered. Months of therapy and procedures that should have taken weeks and ostensibly, everyone including the doctor, put blame onto the next person! During my procedure for a minor case of Hepetitis C I literally went through three different Nursepratianers, each giving me different directions; suffice it to say they had no direction and subsequently were all wrong. Ad Infinitum, it took me contacting a lawyer and calling the actual doctor, who typically, didnt know a thing about my case, condition, or otherwise.

Its a shame their billing service ruins whatever good experience you had with the doctor and procedure. Be prepared to get inundated by bills and PLEASE keep copies of the ones you already paid because theyll keep charging you even though youve sent them proof youve already paid and they already cashed your checks. Id fire the entire billing department.

Dr. Rai keeps my Crohns under control. The staff is capable and pleasant. Would highly recommend.

I appreciate that Dr. Rai listens and really cares about the pain and symptoms I am going through. It’s been a rough year since my Crohn’s diagnosis but Dr. Rai is very thorough. In the beginning I was hesitant and frustrated and went for a second opinion. I ended up coming back to Dr. Rai because he listened in a way the other doctors didn’t. He was very thorough and when treatments are working he is willing to listen to my suggestions and ideas.I’m not as impressed with some of the office staff but any issues I have had once I told Dr. Rai the issues were resolved immediately.

Dr. Prakash a great doctor! A professional who knows how to treat the problems and her patients with care.

The Gastro Center called my number by mistake and -- incorrectly -- left an appointment reminder for one of their patients. I was trying to help them and their patient by letting them know that they had reached my number by mistake. When I called back to let them know that they had reached a wrong number, I was put on hold for 11 minutes before I finally hung up. Such a wait is really unacceptable. I am very glad that I dont need the services of this center!
