We went to Dr Hawkins Holy for many years. Initially she was wonderful. After some time, her bedside manner and attitude declined and became so unprofessional we left the practice after 15+ years.I wouldn’t recommend her or her support staff. Seek out other doctors with better bedside manner - she doesn’t care.

Our experience with this doctor was unfortunately not very good.She did not diagnose my 15 yr old daughter correctly. She put her on medication and when she didn’t see the desired response but instead worsening of symptoms to the point of hospitalization she told me that her symptoms don’t fit the disease and so I should get a psychiatric evaluation for my daughter.While I understand that medical science is not exact, I am disappointed that the doctor did not investigate thoroughly.The impression I got was that she never read my daughter’s charts properly because during a follow up phone call after my daughter’s hospitalization she could not recollect that my daughter had swollen knee making it painful for her to dance.That was the first symptom that even landed her in the doctor’s office.Moreover she always looked skeptical when my daughter said that her fingers and neck hurt.She would say “ really? I don’t see anything there”. It was a miserable experience plus unnecessary medication for 7 weeks.If you have a tween or teen I would not recommend this doctor.She automatically assumes that teens don’t want to go to school and want to laze around.She was also very rude to me on the phone and was very unprofessional while she accused me of “ enabling “my daughter’s behavior.We had only met thrice and I think it was very inappropriate of her to say such things to a parent.

Ive waited two months to write this review because I wanted to get sufficient distance on it to make sure Im not writing out of anger or blaming Dr. Hawkins for things beyond her control. She was recommended to us by multiple independent sources, and we waited 6 weeks to see her. Our daughter suffers from a diagnosed auto-immune disorder that we believe has contributed to an eating disorder. The purpose of the visit was to look into the possible relationship between these conditions, or whether there might be other autoimmune conditions contributing to her food intolerances. Being young and female, all the medical profession (in our experience) sees in this patient is anorexia. True to form, Dr. Hawkins from the very moment she walked into the room was uninterested in the case--an impression absolutely clear to all three of us. She asked perfunctory questions, never made eye contact, and promptly stated there was nothing she could do for us. The whole thing was over and done with in 10 minutes. There was no curiosity on the part of this physician at all, nor frankly was there any kindness. We had never seen her before, and had had no opportunity to make an impression upon her or her staff positively or negatively prior to this meeting. We left her office with the understanding that we would be on our own with this dilemma. Two stars--one because shes a registered physician, one because she came recommended by others. More than that, in our experience, she does not deserve.

Dr. Hawkins Holt has been wonderful. We went to several doctors before coming here, who were unable to diagnose our daughter with JIA. She is kind and through. We have several individuals in our family with autoimmune issues, we all go there now. She’s the best.
