My son went here with his grandmother for mouth pain. Dr. Sheffield said she could “fit” him in. Drove down from NC because he was with his dad and I was working. I was shocked to see so many people coming in out. She went on to try pull his tooth without waiting for it to be numbed so he cried like a 7yr old would, told me I needed to sit in the corner and then she insulted his age appropriate immaturity. We could not finish, but she didn’t finish either. She said he would have to have surgery and emphasized that “then you won’t get to be with him.” I left and as I left there was a line of minorities out the door. That day I had the option to leave and could afford to find another dentist the NEXT WEEK who pulled them after waiting the appropriate amount of time . This place is a dental factory. Churning in and out mostly Medicaid or Medicare customers. There are similar stories below like mine so know this isn’t and isolated incident. My heart goes out to those who have no choice but to go there and only have her to help. Also the number you are leaving for people to contact doesn’t work and only leads to a never ending loop of the same voicemail options.Do better.

Will not recommend me and my son done had 4 appointments every time we go we be 20 mins early and we never been seen on time just ridiculous

Very upset . Had two children schedule for sx one with anesthesiologist and the other wasn’t . I called to verify the time and was told only one of my children had appt (How did that happen) was told the one of my children appt was at 10:45 am in august and when I called back was told nobody never set the time just a possible date and that they sx would be cancel because the anesthesiologist ( that’s under contract) has changes come up and usually see 10 patients but only can see 7 and they already have 7 pts for that day and will not be able to see my child due to her H&P was not in… When I was told it needed to be in 1 week prior to sx.NOBODY CALL AND INFORM ME ANYTHING I Can’t Not Believe This My Babies Been Suffering With Tooth Pain And I Depended On This Facility. Also told me I can come in for a walk-in emergency visit due to the pain…..when they have already been seen (when we already had a visit ) I understand things changes but what make others such a priority However I’m still waiting for Management To Give A Call

I would not recommend this place. Wait times are ridiculous and Dr. Chen is not the best I’m not sure how long she has been practicing but she could use some fine tuning. Please do your research before you chose any healthcare professional.

I brought my 2 stepkids here for long overdue dental work. They both had multiple cavities and needed 3 separate visits to get everything taken care of. Dr. Sheffield was so wonderful with them and the hygienist staff were very patient and considerate and friendly. I’m glad to bring them back here for their routine care and they feel comfortable coming here too, despite the circumstances of their first few visits.

This was my first visit to Creston Dental. I was referred by my doctor for a wisdom tooth extraction. What a pleasant experience! Front office staff wasn’t all that pleasant but once I went back, the experience was wonderful! From the lead to the dental assistant, everyone was so courteous and professional. The dental assistance (so sorry that I don’t recall her name) provided so much prep and explanation that by the time the dentist came in, I was fully prepared! Dentist was great! She was so quick, I couldn’t believe she was done! Great overall experience!!!

I love Dr.Sheffied!!!!!!!!!!!I chipped my front tooth last Friday, I called for an appointment. She squeezed me in and did a phenomenal job...very personable and kind!!!

I made a cleaning appointment 3 months out because the hygienist was so booked up and with them trying to reopen after COVID.. i get it. So I booked the appointment and waited. I showed up 15 minutes prior to my 9:30 appointment but wasnt seen until 10:20; so after being open for only 2 hours, they were already an hour behind. I finally get in to my appointment only to be told that I wasnt scheduled for a cleaning, but only an exam. Finally, after being there for nearly 2 hours, i get to see the dentist for a whopping 30 seconds only to be told that I had no cavities, but should schedule a cleaning. Yeah.. never going back

The worst when it comes to administration. The staff definitely needs training. Then they treat you like you don’t “have money”. Specifically asked for a price breakdown before having special work done, never got a straight answer then when we show up for the appt they asked for money upfront and said “Oh ma’am we don’t do work w/out money”. I’ve been going here for 5 yrs and they’ve always billed and it’s ALWAYS been pd w/in a week or 2 at the most. I’ll find another dentist for my child. 20 mins definitely wasn’t worth the drive. 😠

The service was good at first, but the dentist was not good at all. The laughing gas was given to help before the numbing but they didn’t wait for it to kick in at all to stick the needles in my gums. I said it hurt and started crying and I was told “You’re too old for that. I had a little girl 3/4 your age and she did better than you.” She also said the pain was all in my head and did not care at all that she had hurt me... I will not be going back here again.. I’ve never felt that type of pain at a dentist before.

My daughter have braces and because of COVID I cannot afford them I wanted to end my contract because I’m allowed to do so and I keep reaching out and they never return my call it’s been 4 months now now I have to take her somewhere else to get them remove don’t go here oan they will try to pull out all ur teeth they tried it and I was not having it soooooo not a good dentist

The appointment line set me up an appointment at the wrong location (out of state) then the out of state office set me up an appointment that didn’t show up in the system at the correct location. Got to the location and they couldn’t find my child’s appointment. The person at the desk kept interrupting me while I was talking and was rushing me while I was talking. Horrible experience. This is their 3rd time doing this. I’m over Creston Dental and am no longer going there. They really need to do something about their appointment settings and how they treat customers.

The best dental experience I’ve had in my 20 years of life! The staff was so kind and easy going! Especially Ethan and heather, they were so amazing and made me feel so comfortable. I will definitely be returning in the future and recommending everyone I know to come to Creston for their dental work.

I have been coming here for 7 years and never had a problem. They are very nice and work with you under any circumstance. I seen Dr. Sheffield and her assistant Beth and they work together very well and make sure the kids are very comfortable at every visit. The place is clean and the staff love to have fun and make you feel like family. I would highly recommend anyone to visit this place. It’s a must see!

I had been in pain for 3 days. The first place I went to didnt take Humana insurance. Than I remembered that I always take my niece to Creston because she has Medicare. The receptionist were wonderful, patient, helpful and polite. I was a walk in this morning, they checked with my insurance and promptly let me know, that everything would be covered. Dr. Sheffield and her assistant Demetrius were absolutely wonderful. They had to do a filling, and for the first time, I felt no pain. It was quick and painless. Im 64, disabled, and I now realize why my niece loves to come here to get her dental work done. I will make Creston my place for dental work from now on.

With a scheduled appointment we had a short wait. The dental assistant was very competent and answered all my questions. The dentist that performed my daughters procedure was excellent. She kept both my daughter and myself calm during the procedure, answered all my questions and had excellent bedside manner. My daughter loved Dr. Schoffield!

What a wonderful experience for having my nieces’ teeth cleaned by Heather! She loved the princess costume and enchanting time. All kids should enjoy teeth cleaning this much!

My girls were so nervous, but Evan and Heather jokes around with them and made them so comfortable. My daughter even said that she had to say goodbye to her friend when it was time to go. We had a great experience and my kids are looking forward to coming back.

Had a visit today and my son and I was very nervous because he was getting a filling. Leslie the dental assistant was very nice and polite and she calmed me and my son down. When he was crying she would rub his head and tell him that he was doing great, that made me feel better and made he more comfortable. Dr Sheffield was amazing with the process and both ladies made the process smooth!

Ive gone to this dentist for years and I have zero complaints. The staff is extremely nice and friendly and works very fast, despite being very busy. Absolutely recommend for children and adults alike! Also, Evan and Heather are also amazing, and the people that I always talk to and work with me.

My experience today with getting my braces was phenomenal. Destiny put my braces on and her conversations made time fly by before I knew it, it was time to go. Dr. Chen was really great too! I’m definitely looking forward to coming back in six weeks!

I am not and have never been a patient here. However I am in leadership for a Community Activist group. We have been contacted numerous times concerning how the manager treats people of color at the Forest Drive location in Columbia SC. We are investigating these allegations and appropriate course of action will be taken.

The service my family gets at Kool Smiles is amazing! I thought taking three kids (6 yr old twins and 3 yr old) to the dentist by myself would be a nightmare but it’s a pleasant experience every time. Heather has cleaned my boys teeth several times and she always greets us with a smile and kind words. Today Que cleaned two of my kiddos teeth and she also made them feel super comfortable and excited about getting their teeth cleaned! Evan took X-rays today, he worked fast and made my boys feel comfortable around those big machines. We actually look forward to visiting Kool Smiles every 6 months.

Friendly staff and i was in there no longer than one hour even though it was my boys first visit. Evan was the coolest worker there. He put out the extra effort to keep my boys calm and busy. His customer service was on point. Thank you Kool smiles and thanks Evan for making my visit much easier

The whole office is amazing with young children and their cleanings, teenagers with cleanings and braces, and with adults. My whole family gets their oral care here and I wouldnt go anywhere else! Braces can be put on an afforadable monthly plan as well. The whole staff is nice, polite, respectful, and fun.

The receptionists and workers wouldn’t let me accompany my 5 year old. I insisted that I felt more comfortable being with her. They said That no parents were allowed in the back for children 5 years old and up and that every dental office in the area has the same policy. Which is a lie because I called three other dentist offices and no one else had this policy.Also just trying to schedule an appt in the first place was a nightmare. I called two separate creston dental offices at least 8 times just to make an appt. I left multiple messages at two different locations and never got a call back. Someone just happened to answer the phone the 9th time I called.Needless to say I will never step foot in another creston office.

Heather is so awesome my girls love coming here. Everyone is very professional kind and patent with the kids. We have being coming here for 8 yrs now and will most definitely continue. Thank you for the great experience evertime.

This was my first visit. Thought it is a kid friendly, loud atmosphere I did not like the experience. I arrived 20 minutes prior to my appointment time with all of my paperwork completed, I still had additional paperwork to complete. The receptionist said that all forms were not online; yet I had a print out of over 10 forms in my hand. My appointment was at 3:15, we were not seen until 3:40. We were called back in a group. The space is open and it seems chaotic. The young lady that cleaned my sons teeth was nice and she kept him calm but she was complete in all of 10-13 minutes. X-rays were taken after the cleaning which was different to me as well. I have to admit that the recommendation of the dentist that day made me unsure if it is a true diagnostic or is there money to be made. Unfortunately, I dont think we will be back. I at least was able to show my child that there is no need to be afraid of the dentist but I prefer a private dental office.

They don’t answer the phone ! Been waiting 2 months to get my daughters new retainer that she needs on a dss as ily basis Bc her teeth shift every night . I never get reminder phone calls for appointment and when I call in to verify appointment there’s no answer to any of the numbers even the emergency number don’t answer . Rediculous.

I came into Kool Smile for wisdom teeth removal by the oral surgeon (Dr. Thompson). While I am not a stranger to the dental office, like many I suffer from dental anxiety. Dr. Thompson was amazing and his assistant Quielah is a gem. She is very kind, professional and knowledgeable of the procedure. Its multiple teeth extracted and with out her, I wouldnt have made it through the first one. Two thumbs up for GOOD dental assistants!

Wife went to this place with our son and said appointments were over booked, hygienist and dentist didn’t introduce themselves nor provided any service to help 6 year old child get comfortable, had concerns with patient privacy due to proximity of dental chairs with other patients. Facility does not have walls or curtains to separate patients.

Went to have a tooth pulled, first time there and after turned in paperwork 10 minutes later was called to the back to have a xray on tooth ,7minutes was in chair to get a Local anesthetic, from then to walking out the door was 15 minutes, the doctor and nurse was Very courteous and Friendly and answered all my questions, they were the most respectful and fastest tooth pulling I have ever had in my 53 years of living.

My Kool smiles experience has always been a great one. The staff is always respectful and welcoming towards my family. Quielah, one of the staff members, is gifted when it comes to making my daughter feel comfortable with the procedures that are performed. She goes the extra mile in ensuring that she understands what is going on and how to prevent future visits. Thanks again.

The call center and the actual facility have 2 different rules and regulations. I was told that if I was gonna be late for my appointment I had up to 15 minutes to get there. when I got there after fighting traffic and everything I was told I could not be seen. they need to get it together they should have either rescheduled me Or at least accommodated us and not have turned us away now you have lost our business.

I had a great experience with Kool Smiles. One of the secrets of success is downloading and filling out the forms ahead of time. The dentist was good with the abstraction. She deadened the area just enough for a no-pain pull. So my experience was a no-complain.

The dental hygienist Heather is enough for anyone to drop their current dentist office and switch to Kool Smiles. If youve ever seen one of those YouTube kid videos, Heather speaks with enthusiasm using different voices and sound effects two explain the dental procedure in a way that is not alarming but rather fun and entertaining.

The nurses and the doctor are great people and good at what they do. I felt bad my daughter was crying, screaming, and wouldnt calm down but one of the nurses was really patient and she eventually calmed her down enough to finish getting her teeth brush.

Very rude and not understanding at all. A lady named Britney was so out of line and rude that I will never be coming back to this place again. I have never been treated so badly and felt so uncomfortable in my life. They are hateful and mean to my five year old little girl who was just understandably scared to be at the dentist.

I was EXTREMELY pleased with my experience here. The wait was not long AT ALL. My twins had a ball in the waiting area which gave me time to relax. Once we were back in the office (which I love the fact I got to go back with them) everything was even better. The nurses and the doctors were very friendly and sociable. They kept my kids smiling and me engaged. They made my babies feel very special and they did a very thorough job. They also took time to explain everything to me and answered all the questions I had. They had great personalities and gave my kids a goodie bag and new toothbrushes which they were excited to use. I recommend this place!

Made an appointment. Confirm that appointment. Then had someone to call and ask me if I could change it to a different time. The young lady said they was working short handed. On the day of my appointment I got there 6 minutes late and I was told they couldnt see my boys. Mind you, this not my first time going to this dentist office. I will not be returning.

I had an doctor appointment, and as always I have each of my kids seen at the same time. It is always a slight different experience at Kool Smiles; however, it seemed that it ran amazingly smoothly so smooth that I was a little shock at how fast they were moving with each child patient. There were no misses and overlooking so I was very pleased with our service that day.

I have been taking my 2 children there since I moved here from Texas 3 years ago. The staff there is always friendly and they know both of my children by name. Heather is especially wonderful with my son who sometimes has a hard time with the white coat syndrome. She is always patient with him. Actually they all are. This company don’t explain nothing much besides pull teeth out. The doctor don’t talk to you she relay messages through dental assistant. Then when you have questions they catch a attitude. They are very rude I will not use this company for my children again. Unorganized people standing around laughing instead working lobby full of patients.

Horrible customer service. I left work early and picked up my son from school and because I was 9 minutes late we were told to wait another 30 minutes and if someone canceled we will be seen. Thats not how you deal with people. We will no longer be going to this dentist!!!

I went yesterday(7/15/14)and it was great. This was my first time going and it was a very nice first experience. The dental assistants was very nice and they even gave my mom a referral to The Braces Place! The dentist Dr. Robertson was very nice and could tell she was excited to see me. She checked my teeth and told me I have a cavity and shell see me next Tuesday! It was just so cold in there so bring a jacket if you go!

Today was my toddlers first dental experience which turned out great! Doctor Sheffield and her assistant Leslie were amazing!
