Heritage was recommended to my sister and I by the hospice service we used for my mom, who passed in April 2020. They were respectful, helpful and efficient. On top of that, this was during the coronavirus pandemic and much of the exchange was over the phone. Highly recommend.

Today I visited Heritage Funeral Home to make preparations for the event all of us must /will one day face. My appointment was with Linda Thomas. Oh what a fine lady! The visit was beyond anything I could have imagined. Who walks out of a funeral home not just edified and feeling relieved but laughing and anticipating the next visit! During the course of my visit, I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Steven Wade. He was no less informative and utterly delightful. The best experience of my visit outside of the thoroughness of their explanations and the unrushed time they allowed, was simply the warmth I felt. I can clearly say they went well beyond the extra mile in providing information, assurance, and comfort that I’d chosen the right place. We live in a world filled with confusion, hatred, and pain. Its easy to complain when things go awry or the ugliness of nature is displayed. All too often the lovely and desirable are overlooked. Not this time.  I simply had to acknowledge Mrs. Linda Thomas and Mr. Steven Wade. I am so abundantly fortunate and honored to have met them.It is my sincerest prayer that God will always bless your lovely establishment and the communities thereby served.

I was not impressed by Rick Points and the handling of the end of the service for s recent firefighter. Every service I’ve ever been to the person who’s life is being celebrated leaves the chapel first, then the family and finally the people whose are following the hearse. Never in my life has the funeral home stood up and said, “that concludes our service.” Always has it been the way I mentioned earlier.Pros:Nice exterior of the funeral homeCons;Interior of the funeral homeKitchen area for food that is brought by friendsGathering area outside the chapelRick Points

My son, Jonas Whitwell is the fireman laid to rest at Heritage in Columbia, TN. I can not express enough appreciation to Rick and the staff of Heritage. Rick made sure everyone was taken care of during this time. It is a shame to belittle such a loving and professional man. Many people have shared how this service will never be forgotten. It was beautiful and we are thankful for Heritage. Again, thank you Rick for all the love you have shown us.

Keith Baker and his staff were most caring and supportive during the loss of my mother in July and then my dad in December. From personal experience, I would recommend Heritage Funeral Home to anyone.

I am the uncle to the fireman who was laid to rest rescently at Heritage Funeral Home. I was told by many people that attended that it was the most impressive and professional funeral they had ever seen for a public servant. I would like to thank Rick Pointe and Raymond Workman and all of the Heritage staff and would highly recommend their excellent service to anyone. And Joseph III you should critique your familys funerals and not mine!!!! It has been a beautiful experience to use Heritage and their caring and living staff!!!

My mothers ashes were not ready for the memorial. They never called or mentioned anything until everyone arrived. When we made the arrangements that was what was communicated not sure why it took 5 days for miscommunication. Needless to say after flying in from California to take her home as that was her dying wish it left an unfortunate ending to what should be a time of closure, honor and respect! How terrible and shame on you heritage for making someones day of mourning and closure such a negative experience.

This is addressed to Joseph Szostak...I noticed you had some negative comments to make about Rick Points concerning Jonas Whitwells funeral. From what I understand your concerns are based on the dismissal of the service. I would suggest when planning your funeral or someone close to you, feel free to make your wishes known as to how you would like the adjourning to take place. Speaking badly of Rick makes no sense in dealing with this detail you think is bad. Maybe you should ask the family how they felt about the service. I can tell you personally how we felt as his family. I have never been shown so much comfort and peace during a tragic time. Jonas children were met with open arms and an ear to listen to their wishes in honoring their Dad. Rick went over and beyond to plan, organize and create an amazing service honoring Jonas. I am sure he spoke with over 100 people to organize how to handle all the sweet people who came to pay their respects. He dealt with the Columbia Fire Department in organizing the Honor Guard, he helped arrange for fire trucks to be waiting the arrival of his body from AL, he helped the CFD blocking every intersection in Columbia as we drove to lay him to rest. From the compassion of his heart he arranged a bag pipe player for the cemetery service. These are a few tasks I can think of, not to mention behind the scenes planning that has to take place for any funeral. Rick is a God loving, compassionate, dear friend of mine and my family. i am sad you found it necessary to list him as a con based on how you feel the ending of the funeral should have taken place. This service touched each life that attended. Citizens stood beside their car to salute as the processional drove by. Anyone who would like a funeral to be directed as if your loved one was also a loved one of Rick Points, then I suggest trusting Heritage Funeral Home. We will forever be grateful for the time, effort and love you have shown to our family.
