Heather Smith is the most disgusting unprofessional counselor who does not care about you or your family situation. She cares about money and will go to whatever lengths to lie and use her power against whoever isn’t willing to chalk up the money. She stirs the pot and creates chaos. She thrives off of situations where she can abuse and get paid under the table to do shady stuff. Do not recommend.

Very unprofessional and not concerned about wellbeing of my children. Showed up late to appoint by 15 minutes. Although I am the adopted father, she made me feel like an outsider with regards to my boys.Asked my eldest son to make a list of things that would help him as he works into a relationship with grandparents, only to tell him she couldn’t use a majority of his concerns. Tried to speak of legalalities and she is not a lawyer. Telling him that the grandparents have a legal right to photographs of him, even though he does not want them to. Our court order is clear about not discussing in front of kids but she did and disparaged me in front of my boys. She also made may youngest son sit in the floor.One of the primary traits of a counselor is compassion and Ms. Smith is greatly lacking in this department. Constantly talking over people. Counselors are supposed to LISTEN, more than talking so much.I would not recommend this counselor if not court ordered. It is my opinion that she is clearly in it for the money ($150 hourly) and not the childrens best interest. Highly unprofessional!

I could not agree more after reading other comments regarding their experience with Heather Smith.She doesn’t put the best interest of the children first. She was in collusion with my ex husband.She diagnosed me as bi-polar when indeed I am not and even told my children “ You’re mom will never be normal”.I filed a complaint with LLR to bring attention to her unprofessional and one sided “therapy”.During our bitter custody battle findings and being required to subpoena my own records versus simply providing them, it was found that she was speaking via telephone and email to not only my ex husband but his attorney.She wrote an affidavit against me on behalf of my ex husband that started the most costly and emotionally draining experience for not only me but my children.Stay as far away from this woman as possible and avoid at all costs. She’s an absolute nightmare .I would recommend anyone with similar experiences to mine to also file a complaint with LLR.This woman shouldn’t be allowed to work with animals much less children.

Really sad that this whole system is absolutely corupt........and these reviews are 100% accurate she only cares about the $ and favoritism is shown......dosent listen to the child no matter age. She does alot of talking and is very unprofessional. Telling my child she will recommend foster care.....WOW.... She has not helped the situation at all...its unfortunate that a child has to be around people who make her feel unwanted and a burden....then fighting all the time and drinking....its unsafe, its unfair, even when the child expresses she doesnt want to be there....she says thats not true....how does one know a child after maybe 6 hours all together. It is true money makes all the difference.....this is insane how they all work together and its very clear the child isnt important at all.....after all she has really made the whole situation 10×s worse...wouldnt recommend her to anyone unfortunately the GALs do so they can get a kick back im sure. Its the children who will suffer and she seems to think shes doing a good job...if only the courts could listen to the child. But court orders are exactly that court orders... So no matter what u think she dosent care amd makes it very obvious even tells the child how they feel...please find someone else if you can im ready to start a petition if anyone is intetested email me....this is the only way

She takes money...whoever gives her more thats who she gives favor too. In the pocket of many attorneys.
