The best adult dentistry practice I’ve ever been too! I recommend everyone who lives in Howard county with acceptable dental insurance should go here. Seriously if you are not going here you are missing out on beyond outstanding service! They always treat me like I’m their only customer, always personable and asking how they can make my appointments more relaxing and comforting. The attention to detail is impeccable and they always answer all of my questions without hesitation. I love Dr Becker and the whole dental staff!

Only my first visit but I was so surprised and appreciative of how welcomed I felt. I was also happy with their expertise into my unique problems. I dont have a single complaint.

I came here with a very difficult case for them. I had an implant placed by an outside dental surgeon and it was placed very forward, I didnt even have the crown yet. I wish I had come to them first. Regardless of the difficulty the entire team was absolutely amazing at helping me get through the next steps in the process. And let me tell you the absolute MAGIC that they pulled in fixing my smile. I thought there was no hope but they proved me wrong. I absolutely could not be happier and it wasnt even a routine case for them. They are incredible. They work so hard to make you feel comfortable, because no one likes the dentist. But from routine cleanings to serious dental work, these are the people you want.

Upon my arrival I was made to feel as thought I was checking into the Ritz-Carlton. There was even a personalized welcome sign awaiting me when I arrived the hygienist’s space. This will probably go down as the most impressive first time visits I have ever had in my adult life! Every interaction I had was warm and welcoming. I am so impressed with the thoroughness of my first visit. Needless to say, I think I have finally found the dental practice I have been searching for.

This truly is a dentist and a team like no other 🤩 my whole family and I are really glad to have found such a great dental office! From the moment you walk in throughout all the procedures, your well-being is always most important. I was always anxious to go to the dentist and I’m not anymore. I’ve been going to HCS for almost a year now. And all I can say is this place is A.mazing! Not only is it a beautiful office but it is filled with nothing but cutting edge technology. It’s unbelievable. And don’t even get me started about the staff… Those folks are incredible! From the billing gal (I think her name is Amanda). I’m awful with names, and office managers Jill and Kathy to the amazing dental assistants (Jacinda & Leisha you’re my girls) and actual dentists themselves (you know who you are😊). I can’t say enough about how much I adore all of them! I feel like I’ve known them for years. It’s like nothing I’ve experienced before. I’m so relieved I won’t have to look for another dental office again. LOVE YOU HCS!!!

I have tmd, anxiety and do not numb easily. I had to go in for a deep cleaning. Val was amazing. She was considerate and listened and kept it as painless as possible.

I came in needing URGENT care for severe pain. All I got is an UPSELL and two Tylenols that I had to pay $312 for.I left in pain and completely dissatisfied. Toothache was not attended to. I don’t know if this is dental clinic or a sales job but take care of the customer FIRST before up selling.

Love love love this office! I was very nervous for my appointment with Dr. Cross for fillings yesterday. From the moment I walked in the door everyone was extremely friendly. Amanda made sure I knew in advance how much my procedure was expected to cost. Dr. Cross got me incredibly numb, and she & Tory had a great flow that got the work done fast! Ill be going back to finish my treatment in a couple of weeks and I know that Ill be treated like a VIP. 10/10 would recommend.

Wow! Just wow! First off the aesthetics and office staff are grade A! It’s beautiful, clean and everyone was so nice. The reception ladies are so nice and helped me fill out all the needed forms (this was my first time here but not my last)! When I was in my appointment Valerie the dental assistant was helping me and she is VERY nice and knowledgeable. She explained everything she was doing and why. She helped me feel comfortable and confident that she knew what she was doing and she’s good at it. Lastly, I saw Dr. Marketta (spelling? Sorry I’m bad at spelling). Dr. M was super warm and welcoming. She listened to my concerns and addressed my issues. Overall the staff is great. They are 100% competent and friendly! Howard County Smiles is definitely my new dentist! They also do children appointments and made my baby (3yo) feel so safe and happy😋!

I have been struggling with TMJ issues for approximately 3 years. I have done PT, dry needling and visited 3 ENTs, among other things. I came to Dr. Becker after watching a number of his online videos offered on the website. I finally decided, after 3 calls to the office, to give him a try. And man, am I glad I did. First off, the office staff is amazing. Helpful, patient and empathic. And when you arrive at the office, you quickly feel like a celebrity. It was like I was the most important person in the building! And then there is Dr. Becker. Imagine Tony Stark aka Iron Man explaining medical issues to you! He knows his stuff and seems confident that he can get to the bottom of my problem. Finally, I must confess that part of the reason I was so hesitate to come to Dr. Beckers office was cost. And that is still a concern. However, the office is willing to work with you and you can pay for services and appointments in installments. So, in that sense, it is very manageable. I have never been to a better office than Dr. Beckers...and I have been to many!

I am not someone who writes a lot of reviews (good or bad), but this practice and the entire staff has motivated me to share.I came to them initially as one of “those people” who feared and avoided the dentist. I had a lot of issues and a lot of concerns about how to tackle them, and Dr. Becker and his team listened, cared, and helped me make a plan to get back to a place where I could smile in pictures again.Their patients are more than just “patients” to them; we are people. Ive never felt more welcomed at any dentist office. Ever. I, unfortunately, got hit in the face. This caused a pretty significant flare up of my TMJ.I had been to every doctor and specialist to try and calm things down but to no avail. I happened upon Howard County Smiles in a google search for relief, and I can tell you, Ill never go anywhere else for my TMJ or dentistry needs.If you need a dentist, I cannot speak highly enough of Howard County Smiles.

A little over a year ago I had a night guard made at Dr Becker’s office. His assistant took the impression and said it would be ready in a few weeks. Upon fitting the device in my mouth I noticed it was much wider and longer than any I had in the past from other dentists. I took it home and when I laid down to sleep it gave me difficulty in swallowing and it was hard for me to breathe. I have asthma and that is in my patientform I filled out. I called the office to tell them about the problem and they said bring it back in. Then Covid broke out and it was not safe to come in and everything shut down. Meantime I had no night guard. Finally offices were opening up again and I came back in Aug 2020. Dr Becker took the night guard and worked on it and I saw no difference. He said there was nothing he could do and walked out of the office. I paid, with a discount, over $400. Now I have TMJ and a swollen jaw from grinding. I have never seen a contraption so big and bulky before. This is my third night guard and my husband has had 2. They have all been small comfortable devices. Covid has made it difficult for me to spend another $400. I have no guard to wear at night and I am suffering. I revived a notice saying it was time for my 6 month visit and I promptly told them I was not happy with the care I received and I have not heard from them since. Before an apparatus is made for a patient it is wise to go over options.

My first visit at Howard County smiles was an excellent experience. I really felt like a guest, they made sure that I was comfortable. The facility was VERY clean. The hygienist “Lily” was very kind, explained why she was doing everything, and answered all my questions. I really appreciated the transparency with the cost for the services rendered. I didn’t want any surprises and they made sure I knew what to expect financially. I haven’t had too much of an experience with the Dentist, since it was just a cleaning, but I’ll do another review after my next visit

I am a chicken when it comes to Doctors especially the Dentist but I was pleasantly surprised by this Doctor and his staff they do everything to make you comfortable and the Doctor was very informative I haven’t had any teeth pulled yet I will have to comeback and let you know what happens but so far everything is good.

The staff is always very professional and caring. The care is excellent. On my last visit they took precautions and I had no hesitation visiting once the state allowed them to reopen for routine care.

Dr. Becker is a fantastic Dentist. From the time I walked in until the time I left his office I felt at home. His care is exceptional. He makes sure that you clearly understand your treatment and the reason why it needs to be completed. Randal has that warm and friendly personality that has been a pleasure to work with. I am so impressed with her technical skills and knowledge, and she gives the most painless numbing needles I have ever received in a dental office. I have come to this practice for 12 years even when it was out if my network. Dr. Becker definitely knows what he is doing and never pushes any services. State of the art equipment, one visit crowns, grear quality work. The staff is friendly and prompt with the paperwork. I never had any issues. A well run family business! I recommended to my friends and would recommend to anybody. They are moving to a new bigger office in Columbia in the fall of 2019.

It had been almost a decade since I have been to a Dentist. When I broke a tooth, I felt horrible about not taking better care of my teeth, and knew I had to get it fixed immediately, even during Covid. I was afraid I would have to have the tooth removed.I was referred by my mom to come here, and I was impressed the second I walked in. When I walked in the ambiance, including a built in waterfall, instantly calmed my fears. They go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. The dental chairs are massage chairs! There are TVs on the ceiling above the chair, and you can put on your favorite show! You have the option to use essential oils, or take some Tylenol if youre in pain!The staff was friendly and kind, and made me feel better about my lack of recieving dental care. After an X-ray they were able to save my tooth! The words root canal have always sounded scary, but after recieving one from Howard County Smiles, it wasnt THAT bad. If you have had ANY kind of surgery, I can assure you, that you have been through worse pain!

They fixed all of the issues I had with my teeth and they go above and beyond to accommodate my schedule. I moved up to Baltimore county several years ago and make the hour trip down to see them. Im a new patient to Dr Becker and team and so far am a fan! They get new patients in right away and the new patient consult/treatment plan is extremely beneficial. Dr. Becker is very knowledgeable (and a fast talker!) and appears to be on the forefront of dental technology/techniques. Lisa, the hygienist, is very sweet and does a great job. The only downside is that she is the only hygienist and only works Monday-Wednesday. Do expect a major price tag when you review your dental treatment plan. Dr. Becker is out of network for all dental insurance companies. Their team will work with your insurance company to reimburse you for payment, just know that youll pay a bit more to go here. Note that I havent had any major work done here.

Dr. Becker and his staff are very professional.I depend on Dr. Becker for keeping my smile perfect and healthy.He knows what he is doing and I value his professional opinion on how to treat any issues regarding my teeth. Ive been to quite a few dentists and fear going to the dentist for many reasons. Dr Becker and his crew I think are the best Ive come across. Staff is super friendly and helpful, they work with you on your schedule, make sure youre comfortable. Ive had a bit of dental work done, by far Ive received the best here. You know when they test your bite with the stain strips? He takes the time to make SURE you feel 100% comfortable before you leave. Need a crown? Not only will it look PERFECT in your mouth, placement and color, they have a machine right there that makes it for you. No going home with a funny cap and come back or a week or two. I had chipped my front tooth years ago, my dentist slapped a patch on there. Worked ok , but never looked great. Got my teeth whitened, had Dr Becker fix it. Looks amazing. I am super pleased with this practice. Special mention for Randall the hygienist. (Forgive me if i have spelled your name incorrectly) You know how it feels you are just a number to be completed? Randall makes you feel like your cleaning and whatever else she is doing for you that day , and YOU are the most important thing in her day.

I am extremely appreciative of my experience at Howard County Smiles! I was in the middle of a crown procedure that I needed finished and time was of the essence. I googled dentists that can make their own crowns in 1 day and Howard County Smiles came up. I called them for a free consultation and from that first phone call with Jill, they were extremely kind, respectful, reassuring, and accommodating. When I went in for my free consultation, I was literally surprised at how kind and welcoming they were to me. They treated me like I was an old friend, even though we had just met. They offered me snacks and drinks, gave me a background of Dr. Becker and the practice, and told me what I could expect (which was very reassuring because I have pretty bad dental anxiety). When I walked back to the consultation room to meet Dr. Becker, I saw a personalized welcome sign for me and they gave me a gift! Who even does that?! Dr. Becker was laid back, funny, yet honest and professional and it made me feel comfortable. I decided to finish my crown there and Amanda was so accommodating with fitting me in on a day that I requested. She also patiently explained all my payment options and wrote it down for me. She and Jill went out of their way to make the day of the procedure as smooth and as comfortable for me as possible. On the day of the procedure, I dont remember that much because I took medication to help me relax. What I do remember is Amanda offering me better snacks than the one I brought, giving me earbuds to listen to music to help me calm down, Rachel bringing me warm towels in the middle of the procedure (which was unexpectedly very comforting), and watching the CEREC machine make my crown (which was fascinating!). Dr. Becker worked quickly and efficiently. When I left, they gave me a bag filled with medicine, post-procedure instructions, tea, and a packet of soup! Again, who does that?! Now, almost two weeks after the procedure, the results speak for themselves. My mouth is almost all healed, the crown fits perfectly with no bite problems, and I have stopped biting my cheek (which I had done since late August with the previous temporary crown). To be honest, in the beginning, I was a little skeptical about why they were so kind to me. I jokingly asked my co-worker if they were going to harvest my organs or something. She said, No! They just sound like the Chick-Fil-A of dentists. I think she is right. I am truly so relieved and grateful.

I have been looking for a dentist for a while and I stumbled across Dr. Becker. Extremely happy with my luck. the staff is excellent, friendly and accommodating. His proactive approach is what really makes this office stand out. He is definitely a keeper.

After five dentist, I finally found the correct one. Free treatment plan with details on costs and procedures needed and TMJ analysis.No more two visits to fit a crown. Crowns are made while you wait with computer design creating the perfect fit. Fillings without metal is a big bonus.Staff and dentist are friendly and professional.Appointments always run on time.

Okay, no lies here. I met Dr. Becker via cycling group and we became friends. For a few years, I had contemplated seeing him for my dental needs, but I was happy with my previous dentist. It wasnt until I talked my wife into going and she in turn talked me into going. All I can say, is that I wish I would have made the change sooner! Dr. Becker is a perfectionist and the work that I had previously done was really not all that great. Dr. Becker is fast and accurate and ensure that you wont have further problems. His staff is incredible and all of them are very caring about their patients. He is also a leading TMJ specialist. Simply put, go see him, you wont regret it!

Im extremely mixed about this site. Dr. Becker and his staff are very friendly and clearly know their work. But prepare for gimmicky promotions, rewards for patients who provide positive google reviews, social media promotions, raffles, etc.Prepare for no weekend options and for it to be persistently out of your insurance providers network. Prepare for unacceptably long waits with little to no notice, short-notice cancellations, significant expense, and issues with filing insurance claims--- all of which occur much more than the rare (and understandable) fluke, which I think most people are willing to accommodate when its the exception and not the norm.To be fair, its a lovely office, but it speaks to one of the biggest problems with healthcare-- that its all about the sales pitch, the inflation of amenities, the gimmicks, the promotions of procedures --- all efforts that I would rather see go to more transparency in the practice---You know, that thing that keeps the sanctions away.The result of the atmosphere of this practice is that nausea-inducing feeling that you never know whats genuine, or what youre being fleeced on because there is such a sales pitch, promotional mentality -- most patients will never know if they actually need a process and its an earnest recommendation, or if theyre being fear-mongered into it , or if its because the clinic is getting perks from referring/ promoting certain procedures.When you leave for all the reasons above, theres a lot of talk about referring you to someone more appropriate so that you can continue whatever youre doing, calling back to talk out the concerns, etc. But the reality is, the promised outgoing communication with you stops once it becomes clear that your wallet wont be returning. And if that isnt damning, then I dont know what is.Its unfortunate, because everyone at the practice is rather likeable-- and it may very well be a good practice for folks with unlimited finances and an incredibly open schedule who dont have to be at their jobs at set times, who respond to the gimmicky stuff--the raffles in the office, etc--- folks who care more about The atmosphere of healthcare than its actual sustainability. And in some ways, its tragic because I do think clinicians feel pressured to perpetuate some of that nonsense to be competitive. But you dont have to be part of it if you dont want to be. Good luck.

Dr. Ray Becker is by far, hands down the most impressive dentist I have ever been to. I have had numerous problems with my teeth and began many years ago with crowns and root canals. If I had known about Dr. Becker and Howard County Smiles I am sure, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that I would have spent less time in the dentist chair and more time enjoying life. He honestly cares for each and every patient that he has and wants to help improve their lives through his dentistry. His staff is incredible and there to help support Dr. Becker in giving their patients the most incredible experience in dentistry possible. My only regret is that I didnt find Dr. Becker and Howard County Smiles earlier in my life and I urge anyone that has a doubt or a concern about their teeth to schedule an appointment to see this great man and his wonderful staff.

The staff was great, and the only reason for two stars and not one. I left feeling ripped off with a $300 bill and a referral to someone else. I clearly stated what I was there for and got a bunch of unnecessary xrays and evaluations done in hopes I would have other work done.

Dr. Becker and his staff are always professional, courteous and accessible. Dr. Becker has been my dentist for the past 2 years. He has replaced numerous old crowns concurrently with my wearing invisaligns to straighten my teeth. I can see such a tremendous difference in my smile. I highly recommend Dr. Becker and his staff.

We love Dr. Becker! Hes very knowledgeable, humorous, and knows what hes doing. His staff always makes you feel welcome, knows who you are, and is very accommodating when Ive had to take my babies to appointments with me.

You know how they scritch and scrape, banging into your gums, seeking out and finding every single blasted sore or sensitive spot in your mouth? A 30 minute cleaning takes three hours hours o pure torture.NOT THIS TIME!!!!Ive never walked from a cleaning without being sore for the next two days. Today, I had no problems. In fact, my gums were bumped just twice. Yes, bumped not banged.Dr Becker, please, please be really nice to your patients, dont let her slip away, shes a keeper.
