If youve got a good drum beat with prescriptions, appointments, and no issues with insurance, (and so hardly ever need the front desk) the providers here are great. If you need the front office more than once in a blue moon, theyre often really difficult to get a hold of. This review, like many of the others, is for the front desk:Ive reach my last straw with the front desk today. I really needed their help and - again - all extensions are going straight to voicemail all day long as if theyre not there on a Monday. I called two weeks ago and also went straight to voicemail. I left a professional voicemail and (not the first time) never got a call back. This has been an ongoing struggle for over a year. Some ideas to ease front desk frustration:1. Shorten the call menu. No need for half of the COVID info.2. Return calls.3. Make an online portal for billing and appointments.4. Attach statements when you email asking for money. Ive had a few instances of incorrect billing due to insurance; thats understandable. But some of the accusatory money hungry reviews might be due to the way you email asking for a dollar amount with zero explanation and little faith corrections will be made. A patient portal could help.

I have been going to this practice for over 5 years and have had nothing but a wonderful experience. The front desk have always been helpful and my provider is great. I think some of these people dont always get what they want (meds, appointment times) and that makes them get bad at the practice. I would recommend this practice to anyone and will continue to come here.

The Centers administrators are extremely pleasant and welcoming. Dr. Kanwar is absolutely great, she is very personable and thorough in her approach, she has changed my daily life in the most positive way possible and cannot thank her enough! She is highly recommended!

The Columbia Counseling Center has been a really great experience for me. Dr Sholtis is hands down the best therapist Ive ever seen. She has this ability to adjust her approach based off of my mood and creates a comfortable and welcoming environment every week. Bridget at the front desk is always supportive and nice. She is friendly, positive and more than willing to help me with whatever I need. Dr. Kanwar at first seemed like your run of the mill psychiatrist but has really surprised me with how much she listens to my specific needs and makes good medication recommendations.

I wish 0 stars was an option. This place over bills the patients and hopes you dont notice. They go over in detail all the things you must pay for and then add on to that and are surprised when you dont pay. Further, they do not update their records with insurance payments they just send you bills and if you arent keeping track you will pay when you shouldnt. Do yourself a big favor and dont go here. I felt like they were just trying to make a profit from our struggles and not truly help us. I wasted way too much money here.

I like Dr. Sixbey a lot. But I cannot continue because insurance has changed and theyre now out of network. Im not too pleased with the front desk though. To say their communication is lacking would be an understatement. I received a call the afternoon before my appointment to inform me about insurance not working. After learning my insurance company changed I was told I would be a cash patient. So I brought cash for the payment today. I was then told they dont accept cash. So I had to spend extra money a cashiers check because the checking cards for my new bank have not arrived. When you tell a customer theyre a cash patient, it is your responsibility to accept cash when the customer brings physical cash.On top of this, the supervisor wasnt even office so the three ladies in the office all had vacant expressions like they didnt know what to do. Companies should have more than one person trained on how to handle this kind of situation. Im glad I wont be coming back because I cant continually take time out of my schedule to accommodate incompetent people.

Terrible billing policies and the staff are like the money police. They call 3-4 times prior to a visit to ensure you will have your copay ready at time of service. They constantly threaten you with no service if you dont pay, even when you are client who pays on time, every time, and in good standing. I tried to cash pay when my insurance became out of network and was told I could not afford them (by their staff member). They may be legal billing practices but they are not ethical or respectful of patients. They treat you with no dignity and its unwarranted.

We have always had a good experience with the psychiatrist, psychologist and counselor there. However a receptionist named Laurie is extremely rude. She called me “hostile”. I am the most easy going person! I was shocked and appalled to be called this. My daughter will be turning 18 in 2 months and we will definitely be switching to another practice. Highly recommend not going to this practice.

Was referred here by my insurance company to see Dr Sixbey for my sleep problem. The first thing I was told is that he wasnt a sleep doctor and I should see my primary care physician as if I did not already try that. I told him my issue and he tried to prescribe Seroquel , which as I was talking to him I looked this up. It an Antipsychotic drugused to treat schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and severe depression. I have trouble staying asleep is all. I said I would not take that medicine and he become agitated at me and said well contact your primary care physician and ended the call. I paid a $30 copay, which was supposed to be waived because of covid telecalls. So to summarize, I paid $30 for less than a 10 minute conversion and only offered crazy meds to help my sleep problem. I would not recommend anyone is any type of need to contact this office. I cant imagine how a severely depressed person is treated. To be fair, the office staff was fantastic and friendly.

BEWARE of Dr.Thomas Sixbey!!! He is by far the worst psychiatrist I have ever had the experience of dealing with. He takes weeks to respond, processes you when you do talk to him, the only reason why I ended up with him because my old psychiatrist moved out of state. Our first appointment was less than 10 minutes, which would make sense for a follow up / check in but initial meetings are atleast 30 minutes. He doesn’t listen, it’s like talking to a brick wall. Can’t say that I have gotten better with him.

Drs. Sixbey, Nash, and Sholtis are amazing, but there are issues with the front office staff. Ive been going to this office for years and today has been a horrible experience. No one is visiting this center because life is great, and that front office needs customer service and empathy training. My office visit was rude today and a call to cancel an appointment this afternoon was rude. As good as the mental health professionals are, its not worth the damage that some - not all - front office staff can to do a client with severe depression. To the front desk woman with short blonde hair, glasses, and a permanent scowl - youre a problem.

I was surprised to see such a low rating on Google for the COLUMBIA COUNSELING CENTER (CCC) due to my experience always being a professional one. The administrative staff of the CCC are great and my Doctor is exceptional with there never being an issue with appointment scheduling that cannot be resolved. I Highly recommend this establishment and the individuals who provide services within it.

I have had nothing but positive experiences with the Columbia Counseling Center. For a few years, I have used the services from two different psychologists and two different psychiatrists for mild depression and prescription medicine maintenance. I am SO glad that I took the steps to do so, and cannot be more pleased with Columbia Counseling Centers professionalism. The front staff is outstanding and friendly no matter who I speak with. They always resolve any insurance and appointment questions that may arise. Most importantly, I am doing great! Thus I highly recommend their professional services.

With hundreds of pages of medical history and diagnosis I got told by doctor Kanawar since Im diagnosed with 3 conditions that require certain medications they wont treat me so youre telling me because I have these conditions I didnt ask for after serving my country for 6 years I cant be treated now? Unbelievable this place is simply unbelievable. And for the record again I had hundreds of pages of medical records in my hand with confirmed tests and diagnosis.

The front desk workers are unprofessionally rude. This is supposed to be a place for mental health service but they clearly don’t care about their customers mental health enough for common courtesy. They made it clear they don’t care about new patients.

They have such a high turnover rate because they dont know how to treat their Front Desk Staff! The Psychologist in charge Susan Minsky micro manages her practice via phone/email from Florida. They often cheat you out of hours worked. The Front Desk Staff eat their food at the Front Desk & their left over food is placed in the trash cans behind the front desk. They ONLY have trash removed 1 time per week so you can imagine how bad the front desk area smells from days of different food smells coming from the trash cans. EVERYONE at the Front Desk stays sick because they do not sanitize or clean the front desk area with Lysol so the germs keep spreading. CCC is so money hungry that they allow Patients to come in sick instead of putting up a sign that requests them to reschedule their appointments if they are sick. They do not clean the Restrooms well, so more germs being spread. The Manager Catherine K is a Beast & they often charge Patients No Show or Cancel w/out notice fees even when they cancelled in time. Also, the Front Desk Manger recently QUIT & just stopped showing up for work!! That says ALOT right there!!

This is the worst place to work EVER!!!! The managers are very disrespectful and rude and dont care. The best people are the staff that do all the work up front. Ill report them to the BBB. They are suppose to counsel people and help. They need help themselves on being nicer to their staff. Hated working there!!!!!!
