Although acupuncture originated from my home country, I have never been a believer of it since day one. Doc. Cheng actually changed that. Dr. Cheng has been treating me for about a year now. Getting acupuncture has been the only thing to significantly help my endometriosis pain. After going weekly for 3 months my leg pain went away! Mr Cheng is super skillful! I was very tired all the time and my blood circulation is not good after have the baby. Also my knees are super sore when climbing down the stairs. OMG I got to say this. So my baby has fever for like 3 days and coughing real bad and super serious congestion. I had severe back pain, numbness in leg and heel and pain in hip joint after having my first child. I couldnt even sit for more than 30mins. Dr Cheng diagnosed me and found that I have not good blood circulation. After the first treatment, the numbness at heel went away. I have a job that requires me to sit glued to a computer 10 hours per day. To make matters worse, I recently I have embarked a journey to try out for a job that is physically rigorous with lots of running and lifting. For instance, I had to run 300 meter under 50 seconds. Cheng is one of the best doctor I ever seen. I rarely post a review in my life but I want to share my review this time because it would definitely help other patient with similar symptoms.Here is my story. I have had hive for 10 years but could not find a cure for my heat hive. I tried so many medicine and injection that can only temporary suppress my hive. I spent over a hundred thousand in the past decade and other doctor told me it is the immune system issue. They told me there is no cure for it. I have to take Xolair injection every month which I really hate. I felt like it is the death sentence to me. My whole life would be depended on this Xolair injection. In past few week, one of my friend told me to try acupuncture. I thought I tried almost everything already, then lets try some eastern medication. I went to the acupuncturist in Rockville MD first because it is closer to where I live. I went there few times but it does not seem to have any effect on my hive. I was very disappointed. Things change until I see Cheng. I felt a lot different after my third treatment. Cheng was very patient and thorough. I would definitely recommend Cheng if you have similar symptoms as me.

Dr. Chengzhang Shi is AMAZING!!! He has helped me in so many ways from issues with sleep, mood, stress,etc. If I miss an appointment, I feel off. I also get neck spasms a few times a year that are very painful and he is able (without drugs) to make the spasm and pain decrease immediately and then go away completely. My mother has suffered from chronic bronchitis for years. Every time she had a recurrence, it took months for her to recover. Dr. Cheng has been very professional, patient, and caring throughout my treatment. Dr. Cheng has been AMAZING! I came to see him for treatment for interstitial cystitis (painful bladder syndrome) caused by a long history of endometriosis, ovarian cysts and food sensitivities. Prior to seeing Dr. Cheng, I was being treated by a Urogynecologist. I had to have bladder installations weekly and had tried multiple oral medications to manage the pain and flare-ups. I have since stopped using medication, my bladder is 90% healed, 70% of my food sensitivities are gone and my energy has been restored! Dr. Cheng has successfully provided relief from the pain and disability of the degenerative discs in my lower back. For several years this arthritic condition made it painful to walk for other than short distances and I had to use a cane to avoid bending forward as I walked. Perhaps a handful of times in my life, I have been privileged to meet individuals who are truly masters in their field of expertise. Dr. Cheng is one of those rare people.Twenty years ago I lacerated my heel to the bone, and that injury formed a scar that traveled from one side to the other. Until Dr. Cheng began to treat me, I have lived with the limits imposed by that scar all those years--not being able to run or walk long distances. The many podiatrists I visited had little to offer. Physical therapy helped some, but only since being under Dr. Chengs skillful care have I truly felt relief, and am now able to be on that foot with almost no pain.The significant reduction of the scar just touches on what I mean when I say master of his field. Each time I go in for a treatment, Dr. Cheng is able to very quickly assess not just the state of my foot, but of my overall health in an extremely nuanced way. As both a master of Chinese Medicine, and a MD, he is able to understand the Western description of a condition and translate into a Chinese diagnosis with ease.I should mention that my case was made further complex by the fact that after twenty years of adjusting my physiology to adapt to the scar tissue, I developed a secondary condition of Plantar Fasciitis, which caused pain just inches away from the scar tissue. Dr. Cheng instantly determined how address both conditions, again revealing his highly personalized, nuanced treatments.Dr. Chengs placement of the needles is always deft and sure--though the term needles brings up an incorrect association--really they are just thin filaments. Further, he has a a very gentle and caring demeanor/bedside manner.I--along with my wife who has likewise had excellent results from her visits, and along with her physical therapist who first recommended him to us--cannot recommend Dr. Cheng high enough. Last October, my mother suddenly got a symptom that seems to be Bells palsy. Dr. Chengzhang Shi is an amazing acupuncturist! It took only 4 sessions for my condition to reverse itself, and Ive been feeling great ever since! Recently this year my wife was diagnosed with frozen shoulder and she could not move her arm and shoulder without feeling intense pain. I went to go see Dr.Cheng in febuary with constant upper right side abdominal pain that had no diagnosis or cure. the pain was constant. after only about 3 weeks of accupuncture, my pain went down by a lot and within a month i was perfectly fine and the pain was completely gone. I was also given herbs which helped a lot to reduce pain and heal by body. My orthopedic doctor suggested three options: 1) acupuncture, 2) steroid injection locally, and 3) surgery to remove the bulging disk, which, for me, is the last resort I would pick. Since local steroid injection may not always work and has complications such as fungus infection, I decided to try acupuncture therapy because of its low risk. Dr. Cheng is the most knowledgeable, experienced and focused acupuncurist / herbalist Ive worked with. I cannot say enough positive things about him as a healer!
