This is Teresa Leone writing on Jennifer Wilsons computer. I was a resident of the resort for four weeks and it was a wonderful experience. The staff are all professionals with caring and supportive attitudes. The food is varied and will meet anyones criteria. The facility is well kept and towels and bedding are changed daily. Activities are fun and very social. This is best choice of recovery for anyone needing a restful environment w/therapy that is specific to ones needs.

Food staff needs to it together. Starting with the dietitian who doesnt return calls. They will leave your loved ones hungry. They dont bring what is requested and then wont explain why. Tired of calling nurses from outside of the facility to have them go to my loved ones room. Dr said she shared info with cardiologist and they said they havent received anything. You decide

Healthcare Resort has an amazing staff. During very trying times, they have been nothing but kind and patient with me as our family attempts to plan for the future of our family member. The executive director has gone above and beyond to stay in touch with me personally every step of the way. He answers every question, is our go-between with the insurance company and the doctors.

Great care facility for our father to rehab. staff are super professionals and called to do what they do. facility is very nice and well run.

I had a stroke and this was my 2nd Care facility for 20 days. Supposed to be a Rehab place for stroke victims but I asked every day: When do I go to physical rehab? I didnt get on the schedule for a week. Can you say: Shortstaffed? Thats the Mantra here. New surroundings & relatively fancy rooms, but its just Window Dressing for inferior care. Terribly expensive, for what your loved ones get. Dont go here. Period!

By far one of the best facilities I have worked for. The head managers are very friendly and professional in taking care of things (i.e. making sure that patients/residents needs are met and helping the staff with ideas and solutions). I am going to miss the HCR crew for what they had done for me and everyone. Thank you so much for having me as a part of the HCR family.

Great staff, good care, efficient and easy communication with family. We appreciated all the care provided to my grandfather! It brought my family sound peace of mind to know he was cared for well with staff at HCR. Thank you!

This place is beautiful. More than that the people that work there are beautiful. Ive worked closely with Dave and Shannon the Administrator and Director of nursing for several years and they are all heart. In addition to a beautiful facility youre trusting your loved ones with some of the best leadership in long term care.

First of all this place is beautiful ! Secondly the staff are amazing. I have and will always recommend The Healthcare Resort of Colorado Springs for any loved one needing extended care and rehab after being in the hospital. The therapy crew is high caliber and the nursing team very compassionate. They have a great OUTPATIENT Therapy program after you leave to keep moving!!

This is a gorgeous facility--doesnt look like or smell like a nursing home. The good environment goes beyond just the appearance. The staff are really committed and that starts from the top with a caring and involved administrator and really helpful and smart director of nursing. Overall I feel comfortable recommending this facility to a friend.

Received good treatment staff was extremely friendly first day they all lined up and introduced themselves. Couldn’t ask for more.

I have worked with The Healthcare Resort for many years. The facility is beautiful and the staff are wonderful to work with. They are caring and compassionate in all that they do. The food is delicious and the views are incredible. I would recommend this facility to anyone.

The Healthcare Resort is an amazing place to work, the staff is so supportive and caring. Our rehab department is amazing for those people needing acute rehab. Everyday is enjoyable to come to work. The organization really cares about their employees.

The Assisted Living Staff at The Healthcare Resort of Colorado Springs are warm, caring, knowledgeable, personable, and very professional.They provided exemplary care with stellar kindness and compassion for our Mother during her stay, often saying she was part of the family.The staff, from the Doctors, Nurses, CNAs, Physical Therapists, and Occupational Therapists, to Administration and the Dining Staff, they were wonderful to deal with. Physical Therapists and Occupational Therapists are very skilled and offer a personal plan of care and recovery.The Healthcare Resort of Colorado Springs is a beautiful facility with lots of happy faces willing to help and serve. I have worked for The Healthcare Resort for just over two years now and I have never enjoyed working anywhere as much as I do here. I started out as a CNA and received an internal promotion shortly thereafter due to my hardwork and dedication. Now I am a therapy coordinator and tech for this 100+ bed facility and have been given responsibility that only makes me feel more privileged and proud to be part of such an exceptional organization. I start nursing school in the fall and my leaders have gone out of their way to support and find ways for me to remain employed with them and continue to deliver my devoted services and be a part of their success. When I finish school I plan to continue my employment with this great organization and their staff and grow within my new role. Thank you to The Healthcare Resort and all of their wonderful leaders. This is a wonderful place to work and if you are dedicated and hardworking you will undoubtedly reap the same benefits and satisfaction that I have.

I have had the opportunity on many occasions to deal with The Healthcare Resort and I highly recommend them for their care, compassion and always putting the patient first. In my position I frequently visit many of the rehabilitation centers in Colorado Springs, Denver and Pueblo and the Healthcare Resort is by far one of the best hands down.

I have been two other places skilled nursing facilities in this ones the best I even was at Assisted Living and I like this much better my needs have been taken care of here and when I meet at skilled nursing theyve always been right there for me Im a better person for living here thats why rated 5-stars theres always a few little things I love you too in that this place has been excellent that is why I am here long-term

Absolutely amazing facility with a staff and leadership team that are truly dedicated to their residents and staff.

My father has been a resident of the Healthcare Resort twice in 6 months, both times recovering from major surgery. After a less than stellar stay at another local rehab hospital, we were very skeptical of them in general...However, both stays here were exceptional. The nurse aides all took time to get to know our father. They became like a second family and were key in him recovering from cancer surgery...just their smiling faces and friendly attitude were so uplifting for him in what has been an extremely trying time. Thank you to Naomi, Skye, Rachel, Sofia and Liz plus many more.The OT and PT staff were fabulous. They got my 78 year old dad up and walking again. He feels confident that he’ll be out in the field again for hunting season next month.David the director helped along the way as well. We do appreciate the time you took to help Dad attend his granddaughter’s state competition.The bottom line is this...the employees truly care about their patients. We will be forever grateful for their care and compassion.Samantha Jordan

The health care resorts staff exceed my expectations. Lovely community with 5 star dining with extensive menu options. Therapy, CNAs , and social services team are amazing.

I worked for about two years in a professional capacity with the healthcare resort. My experience was very positive, and I found my interactions—from the Executive Director down—to be respectful and patient focused. They always wanted to ensure their patients were well cared for and had a solid discharge plan.

The kitchen manger needs to learn how to run a kitchen , if you eat in your room you were lucky to see breakfast at 9:30 , lunch at 3:00 and dinner at 8:pm or later . The food is always cold . The menu changed and no one was informed. If you ordered pancakes and bacon , you got just bacon and the menu circled not available. I wasn’t impressed as you can see. The nursing staff is top notch Rasheeda , and Jen are awesome !! Deanna the overnight nurse is also great. Physical therapy dept is wonderful. All of the therapist are very understanding and accommodating. My favorites were Lester , Matt , Morgan , Amber I know I’m forgetting people but thank you for being patient with me. The CNA staff is great also you push your call light and they are in your room immediately. I wish the “ Healthcare resort” had an indoor pool.

The management at this place is amazing. They truly care about the patients and want to see them thrive while in their recovery. Attention to detail is there and the staff are trained to give their best. I’d choose to stay here for my post-op recovery.

Amazing top-notch facility! Staff, nurses, CNA are all caring, knowledgeable, personable, and very professional. PT and Occupational Therapists are very skilled and offer a personal plan of care. I always enjoyed the dining room experience for meals and in room meals when necessary. I enjoyed my 2 week post surgery skilled nursing care at this facility and would come back again if needed in the future!

This facility has the most welcoming staff, they make you feel right at home. By far the cleanest and nicest facility I’ve been to, this speaks to the staff as well.

We were very pleased with all the facility -re-hab, assisted living and finally skilled nurse unit .Very clean, professional,caring and friendly. The assisted living floor always had some activity going on from yoga to the garden. Most everyone seems happy and active. The staff was aware at all times the needs of the patient and the families - helpful with everything.The re-hab was outstanding and very organized.The skilled nurses unit clean, no smell, friendly and caring.The food was good and had special cookouts The rooms and bathrooms were nice with plenty of light . Garden and sitting areas outside and a lot areas that you go and visit with friends and familyFor a sad time in my life Healthcare Resort was helpful and safe.for the one I loved.

Nothing but praise for this rehab facility. My 90 year old Mother broke her hip at a wedding at the Broadmoor Hotel and was taken to Healthcare Resort for rehab. She was there for 3 weeks and I was impressed with the care she received. The staff were attentive to her needs, the PT and OT staff were great, and the administrative staff went out of their way to help me transfer her to another rehab facility closer to her home.I was living in a hotel down the street and was with my Mother most of the day. Everyone I met affiliated with Healthcare Resort were friendly and helpful. The dining room was cheery and had a nice piano that guests and residents could play. I took my Mom out for wheel chair walks everyday on the paved path surrounding the building.If you have to have a loved one in rehab, this is the place!

As the weeks Have gone by I have gotten acquainted with the various staff members in PT and OT and they are wonderful. They saw me the very first day, have paid close attention to my condition , and have demonstrated their knowledge in many ways. They come in even when they dont have me scheduled just to check in and say hello. The nurses have also been impressive. They are giving medications on time and with a smile. In the two weeks Ive been here they have put on a big Fall Festival and different activities like bingo that have really filled in some down time. I am VERY IMPRESSED with the food as it feels like I am eating at an expensive hotel everyday. The little details the chefs do make all the difference. Even when you dont feel like eating they present the plates in such a way that it makes you want to eat it. The personal care aids have provided good care and deserve credit for their hard work. Overall its been a very good experience and I have been recovering well. I recommend the healthcare resort to anyone looking for a good place to recover.

I was admitted to Healthcare Resort to recover from a knee injury. I was there for a little over 3 weeks, and my experience was very good. The staff - -- from the Doctors, Nurses, CNAs and other health care staff, to the Dining Staff and Administration -- were wonderful to deal with, and my wife and I felt very well looked after.

A majority of the staff at Healthcare Resort were excellent. The nurses were very professional, attentive and caring . They were always available for helping with any of my needs . I cant say enough about the physical therapy and occupational therapy staff! The were very professional and very knowledgable. Always ready to help. Without their excellent skills i am sure i wouldnt have been released early! They made sure I had all the tools i needed to continue recovering at home. The only thing that stops me from giving a 5 star review was the dining staff. The staff always seemed to be grouchy and put out if you requested something. Not to mention i would say 80% of the time that my order was wrong (not getting cream for coffee, getting chips instead of french fries, requesting something staff would say ok and never return with the item, etc...) I really feel that meal time is the only time a lot of the folks in there have the opportunity to socials and be with others. When the staff that serves them dont even smile at them or seem to be bothered by the patients it doesnt reflect well on the company or on the wellness of the patient. Also the food was not very appetizing as well. Besides the above complaint If the situation were to ever arise for me to need rehab again i would choose Healthcare Resort. Thank you to all the staff

My mother has been a resident here since October, after a car accident broke both her legs. They are awesome. They work with her, they take excellent care and best of all they listen! I am more than pleased with this rehab facility. I cannot say enough good about them, their service and their staff - including management! Awesome! Thanks for taking care of my mother!

You gave my Dad a good amount of attention and he thrives on the attention -- which we are thankful for. We trust the care givers and believe that they take good care of him. We are thankful for the care givers. We appreciate that you try and care for him there and that you dont rush him to the ER for every pain and discomfort.

My brother got the best care . All of the staff there is very polite and work very hard on his recovery. The food is excellent. He will return if he needs any service. Thank you Healthcare resorts.

My mother, 96, fractured her hip and was a patient at the Healthcare Resort for her rehab. We were extremely pleased with the professionalism, the knowledge, the support, and the care my mother received. Everyone listened and did all they could to help my mother control her pain and help her to become as mobile as possible. The rehab and nursing staff are exceptional.We were so pleased that we have decided to move my mom to a permanent residence in the Assisted Living part of the facility. She feels completely at ease with the care she is receiving there and thoroughly enjoys the other residents.As a side comment, the food is absolutely fantastic. The chef willingly meets the needs and the desires of each resident. This is the first time my mother has ever eaten three meals/day and looks forward to them!Bravo!

Everyone absolutely did great. It was truly a honor to be able to stay at your resort. The entire staff treated me with the utmost respect. All sincerely cared about my condition and recovery (at my pace). Thank you so-so very much for being there for me. From the first day till the last the stay was magnificent.

I know the administrator personally. Great person and cares so much about the improvement of the patients. Goes above and beyond.

My mother was a physical rehabilitation patient. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. She had excellent care. The food was really good. I would recommend it to anyone needing continuous care or long term.

They are horrible, DO NOT bring your loved one there they killed my mother by not caring when she was screaming in pain they just closed the door. She was blind and deaf and the brought her food and just left she never found any food and they took it away because she did not eat it. She did not know it was there. They will keep calling your insurance to get more days and when they run out they send her home . My Mother got at noon and lived less than 24 hours. DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!Believe me your better off at your VET.

Working at The Healthcare Resort has been a great experience. We work hard daily to create an incredible culture for our guests to heal in a nourishing environment. My personal passion is to work with people investing in their quality of life and to be proactive in the healing process.

Dr Skaggs was abrupt and authoritative.I would recommend being very cautious about priorities of this facility. The Business Development manager was more interested in talking about himself than hearing what was needed by the family members.Nurses and therapy staff were lovely but lots of trainees floating around.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The place is clean and efficient. I was especially impressed with the nutritionist that helped me with my renal diet. I would recommend them highly to any of my friends and family.

They went above and beyond to get my mom there. Then abruptly announced her release, not to me, to my mom. It sent her into a place of feeling they didnt like her and were kicking her out. She stated repeatedly that she did not feel ready to go. Tomorrow is her release day. She asked to talk to a counselor, never happened. I went there for dinner, asked for help with that, two hours before dinner, and they delivered her dinner and told me id have to go order mine while she was eating hers. Another time, they refused to talk to me, to even let me know when was a good time to visit. I am so disappointed with her experience here and would not recommend it to anyone.

I have had a great experience here at The Healthcare Resort. Not only do they take great care of the residents they make sure they take care of there employees as well. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

All the physical therapy staff and and CNAS and nurses with exception of 1 or 2 were wonderful, helpfull and compassionate. the food had its moments of outstanding, but mostly it was edible. Better than most other similar place, and that is really saying something, becuase I have been to some real pits of hell. Id be will to be placed there again.

My husband was a patient for 11 days and received wonderful care. Everyone from nursing ,CNA, OT, Pt, and even the restraint staff were awesome. I would highly recommend Health Care Resort.

I trained for my CNA clinicals there. All of the folks were nice, and I even played piano and taught the residents! Hire me for a music job once a week lol ;)

It was a terrible experience. My mother was in long term care, and was basically ignored for a week. She was experiencing great pain and could not eat in the dining room. Some days her food would be brought to her other days not at all. Hospice requested that a medicine patch be removed from her arm on a Tuesday. Friday it was still on her. The Director of Nursing had to remove it. Mom totally went unconscious one day. Rather than lay her down a nurse and 2 CNAs tried to revive her sitting up in a wheelchair. Im quite sure protocol is to lay the patient down. No matter what we requested, and we were not tyrants, it just never happened. We moved Mom to a different facility!!!

Please dont bring your family members to stay or live here and please dont work here.

This is a great place to work. Everyone is a team player. Dave is on top of everything. If an employee has a problem he is there to solve it as well as residents complaints. Ive heard him say if residents and workers are happy it makes for a great work environment and he is right. If you dont want to be a team player, this isnt the place for you.

This place is awful, do not send your loved ones here. My husband has been here for 19 days after an accident and has not seen an in house doctor once. The staff cannot tell me what his injuries are, do not return phone calls, and appear understaffed. An appointment with his surgeon was missed because of miscommunication regarding who was respnsibible for transporting him to the appointment and was rescheduled a week later. After finally seeing the surgeon 19 days after surgery, it was discovered that the foot support was not in place and his foot was not in the correct position for healing, and he had to undergo a second surgery to correct it. NO one at the rehab facility even looked at his injury the entire time. DO NOT use this facility!

The staff don’t care about no one. My auntie had a terrible experience and they wouldn’t help her. She pushed the call button and it took forever to get help. Don’t trust nothing they say or the fancy rooms. This place is all for show, they don’t care.

I love my job here at HCR! My fellow co-workers are awesome as well as our upper management team.

The Healthcare Resort of Colorado Springs is a wonderful facility and the social service team is amazing!

Update, April 2019:My (almost) 95yr old mom is just finishing up her 7th month in the long-term care wing at HCR. Although there has been turnover of nurses and CNAs that care for her, she and our family are extremely pleased with all their new hires and care she receives.The leadership here does an awesome job of hiring people who care about people, ALONG WITH the necessary skills to do their job.We definitely recommend The Healthcare Resort off CS!__________Two months ago I moved mom into The Healthcare Resorts long-term care section (at the urging of my husband) and have only good things to say about them. Its a 2-year old building, very handicapped accessible, wide hallways, extremely clean, well maintained, and great food....What really stands out though is the loving, serving, kind, patient people who care for the residents and facility, including the Administrative Director, managers, nurses, housekeeping, CNAs, doctors, facilities, nutrition...(hope I didnt forget anybody).I did extensive research on area nursing homes before making moms transition and am extremely happy with The Healthcare Resort!

They have bedbugs and no plans of fixing the problem.

I used to work at The Healthcare Resort, and due to HIPPA, some things I will not mention. CNA’s truly don’t care about the residents. I got constant eye rolls and attitude when I would tell them anything a resident had requested, such as using the restroom, grabbing some of their items, or to get their clothes changed. In the dining room, a CNA is ALWAYS supposed to be present as long as a resident is eating, but when I would call down to get one, more attitude and one wouldn’t show up till halfway through the meal, which may I mention, is illegal. Legally, the CNAs are to feed assisted feeders, wheel residents back to their room, and adjust their pillows for their legs and such, as being a server, I don’t have proper training to do so. I would have the food out to the assisted feeders, and they would have to wait 30+ minutes just for a CNA to arrive, and by then I had already got complaints about their food sitting in front of them, but me not being CPR certified, or a CNA, I am not allowed to feed them. I would call down to have a CNA come get a resident when they were finished with their meal and it was very rare to have one come within 5 minutes. Usually, i would have to call about three times for one to finally come. Mind you, some residents had walkers with belts in case they fell, and got so fed up with waiting, they would try to walk themselves back. My time there was 6 months, and in that time, at least three workers were fired for elderly abuse. People in the kitchen (and i’m sure the CNA’s as well) would mock the residents,which again, is elderly abuse. A med giver was let go for writing down saying he was giving more meds then what was truly being given, i’m sure you can guess why. If a resident clicks his call light, it is supposed to be answered in a few short minutes, but our time here I believe was between 8 and 12 minutes, which some older folks cannot hold their bladder that long, if that is what they are calling for. During meal periods, normally the employees couldn’t get their meal until after the residents were fed, but we would have CNA’s come to complain about their food and not be worried about the residents that havent even been fed yet. From my understanding , a “CNA” upstairs had secretly recorded a conversation about a residents information (illegal) to try to use it against the head RN, and when they tried to revoke his CNA license, they learned he never had one to begin with. being a business that’s only been open for approximately a year and a half, the debt they have accumulated is ridiculous. I would never pay 3,000 a month for my mother to live in a place with such lack of security, sensibility, compassion, respect, responsibility, or trust for the residents that come in. I left on good terms, so none of this review has anything to do with resentment or revenge towards the company, but more to do with the residents and the lack of care they were given. “Delivering the ultimate experience – one guest at a time” -The Healthcare Resort of Colorado Springs.” Yeah, right.

Front of building says 5 stars but its only 4 on Google. They are dishonest I do not recommend visiting them...

DO NOT USE! They mistreated our loved one and deceived us throughout the process - terrible and heartless. We are processing our report to HHS and are pursuing further action.

The CNAs are hard workers, kitchen staff very helpful, housekeeping staff are always kind and courteous, Nurses are top rate, they dont sit behind their desk and watch you work like a Hebrew slave as some places do (And have). Every Nurse Ive worked with always checks to see if Im Ok, if I need help. They pass out trays, answer call lights... and shout out to the two Nurses I work with the most, Katie and Kris (they keep me smiling and laughing 😂). And Yevi the scheduler really does try and work with you wether part-time or full-time...so far, Im enjoying working here.

Horrible experience and it has not even been 24 hours since my mother arrived, it’s been 7 hours and she still has not received her medication this place is unacceptable and I will be looking to move her DO NOT PLACE YOUR LOVED ONE HERE! HORRIBLE . my family will be filing a formal complaint and take it as far as we need too.

The staff is amazing, and has been a great help during my grandfathers recovery.

My mother has cancer and I have tried to get in touch with her can, nurse let the phone ring more than 25 mints.

The care here sucks. The nurses dont know what they are doing.

Although most of the staff bends over backwards to help, one bad apple can just ruin your day. This place has some serious growing pains. I hope that they get their act together sooner rather than later.
