Dr. James Childs is very nice. His office staff on the other hand do not know what they are doing. I’ve had staff call me to try and fill prescriptions that the doctor never even saw me for, and today the office staff actually hung up on me multiple times when I was calling to try and get a lab order that is REQUIRED for the medication I am on. This medication also requires that I be seen every 30 days by the doctor, but the office could barely even accommodate this one time for the next appointment I needed to make and tried to tell me there was no availability for 3 months. If this office had more knowledgeable and better trained office staff I think every patient experience would be improved.*EDIT 7/18/20 : “Response from owner” *No one from this office has ever tried to contact me since posting this review. Considering that this response is coming over 6 months later fits pretty well with the theme of my review. It’s disappointing because I honestly liked Dr. Childs when I was able to see him. I just don’t need to go to an office where you have to wait 50 minutes to see the doctor or not be able to schedule appointments in a reasonable time frame.

The best dermatologist experience I have ever had. Making appointments is so easy. I can call on Monday and be seen on Tuesday. They are very flexible. I have never waited more than 10 minutes to be seen. Dr.Childs truly cares for his patients and the staff are always so sweet and kind.

Not only an amazing dermatologist but by far the best doctor’s office I have ever been too!!

Dermatologist is great. He is kind and understanding. He went out of his way to provide me good service. He is punctual.

Dr. Childs is a wonderful dermatologist. He is kind, caring, and takes time to listen to your concerns. His staff is great from the front end to the back end. After I finished filling out the new patient forms I only waited about 5-7 minutes. He gave me 3 different prescriptions, samples of each prescription, and a discount card for each of them so I was able to get them for less then what I would have had to pay with insurance prescription co pay. I would highly recommend him and his office!

I have been to both Dr James Child’s and Dr Maria Child’s. They are both extremely professional and knowledgeable. They are quite engaging and attempt to learn about their patients in an attempt to provide the best care possible.

Appointments are made by office staff. I arrive a little early and still have to wait 20-30 minutes in the reception area well after the appointed time. Then moved into another room, only to have to wait another 5-15 minutes. I dont like doctors who have no consideration for their patients time. Such arrogance! This happens with this Dr. each and every time. No more. Im not seeing him again. Luckily, there are other dermatologists who are considerate in College Station.

Dr.s James and Maria Childs are the sole dermatologists who have been able to reverse the negative effects of aging my skin has unfortunately undergone. Ive tried others in Austin and Houston, and countless fillers and lasers. Only the Childs have been able to make my wrinkles, age spots, and unsightly veins seem to disappear. I travel 2 hours to see them regularly and heavily recommend them to anyone and everyone. Kind people and great doctors.

Dr. James detected a melanoma and removed it with practically no scar. I am very grateful for him and his staff.

Came in and got what I wanted for acne. Didnt force me to come by for unnecessary visits and got the job done. Would recommend.

Awesome experience with Dr. Childs, highly recommend! I came in to see Dr. Childs for a rash that turned out to be poison ivy :( He was very kind and knowledgeable, and since the medicine I needed was pretty expensive, he even helped me out by giving me some extra samples. The office staff was also wonderful, and gave me a sizable self-pay discount. Id definitely recommend Dr. Childs to anybody needing a dermatologist!

Doctor Childs and his associates really go above and beyond to provide exceptional care and treatment options. I will continue to to choose Childs Dermatology for as long as Im in Bryan/College Station.
